I refuse to believe this is possible. Even if it was enveloping you (per diagram A) at the pace shown in the video, its still escapable. The odds of it encircling you entirely are slim to none.
So there is always an exit. Also, the fire is rather lacking in depth, you could jump over most of it, then take your pants off if they catch fire. Worst case scenario, burnt legs and hands.

They talked to some brit guy here and he said he has never seen fire move that fast. Apparently the fire was able to cover about 3km in like 3 or 4min because of unusual windy conditions, low humidity and highly flammable types of trees.
