I had similar situation in Ljubljana. But now i work in some town behind 7 hills, and here all yugovichs speak very good slovenian, and they are wierdly proud to be slovenian. Even support Slovenia in match between their Father-land. They said that all low life from south went in big cities as they though life there would be easier. I don't know if it was the rivalry between the two big teams rather than a general disinterest in the national team. Team leaders got old, our best guards were always the bread and butter of the team. They got old and then they left. There hasn't been any serious effort at rebuilding the team with the current new players. Especially because the inclusion or not of Antetokoumpo is crucial to the team makeup. Didn't help that the team had a shite coach for many years.
But the team is not the same, we can't expect the same. Can you remember the victory against the USA? Spanoulis, Papaloukas, Diamantidis... you can't beat this guard line-up, even the best players in the world couldn't.
