Got talked into a $100 ppr 10player league at my office to try to fit in with the normies. Draft is tonight. I drew 3rd pick. I know the meme players to go for at the start but not sure what to do at the later rounds apart from I'm not planning to reach for a QB or TE.

Looking for any bench suggestions/strats to keep me from panicking or throwing darts in mid-late rounds. Doesn't have to be anything genius. There are a few people who will likely just auto-draft and hardly play.

Luck's injury is infinitely worse than the team let on, his center is dead too so even when Luck eventually comes back the o-line will be even worse than usual, the only defensive player worth a damn (Vontae Davis) is also out for several weeks...being a colts fan isn't going to be fun this year and for fantasy purposes I'm staying away from all of them, even if Luck comes back earlier than expected.

Frank Gore may be a decent depth RB to have but he's 34, and Marlon Mack while showing promise is still a rookie.

This guy's right. Luck looks to be missing a minimum of like 3 games with possibility for way more. It's shaping up as a lost/tank year for Colts. If you're drafting someone like TY Hilton in the 2nd/3rd you're drafting last year's production and drafting him at his absolute ceiling.

If the Colts had a passable backup - like a Hoyer tier guy or Garropolo or something - it wouldn't be as big of a deal. But with Tolzein that's a bottom 3 offense.

They definitely are, if they're available in 12 man leagues they're available in 10's. And the round you pick them in isn't important what's important is the spot they take up on your roster and the possible breakout players you miss out on. Think about it, for your plan to go right your #1 draft pick would have to go down with an injury for either of your two guys to even see the field and then ideally one gets the position to himself and it isn't a RB by committee making them both worthless which would still mean you held on to one of the two for however long you did before Fournette got hurt all for zero return on investment and then to make it worse you didn't pick up one of the late round sleepers you had the opportunity to add so the guy that has the breakout season is on another guy's roster instead of yours

Generally when no one comments, it means that there's nothing to really comment about on it. It's painfully average team, it looks like you just followed whatever pick was auto suggested to be completely honest, which is fine and all, but it also means you didn't really take any risks either.

Teams like this, at best, avoid major injuries to RB1's like Gurley and squeak into the playoffs, but also generally get steamrolled first round

You've kinda gotta understand that a thread like this is for people to self-rationalize the gambles they made on sleepers and unpredictable rookies through the kind words of other anons, when more often than not the only comments made are the insults thrown saying "wow lol why'd you pick x"

Here's the thing, for the first 5 rounds, people generally have very easy choices to make, and that's essentially pick the best player on the board. It's a major oversimplification, but you have 5th pick in the first round, and Antonio Brown is still up, chances are you're taking him, and so on and so forth.

Once everyone has 2 WR's, 2RB's and a preferred flex, it really is just a fucking crap shoot though. People will have harder choices here, and people with a higher football IQ will go for the sleepers and rookies while those with less experience will either stick to taking what the autopicker suggested, or they'll impulse grab someone that they just read a dumpy ESPN article about.

If I came across as snobby, then oh well, I was merely giving my 2 cents on why that one anon didn't get any comments on his team. I'll admit that yes, there are some posts in this thread that, with proper analysis, could benefit from a third party opinion, but for the most part they really just fall victim to being unavoidably average teams, due to the reasons I listed above.

I contribute to this thread because I like seeing differing opinions on why average joes think a certain sleeper, rookie, or flyer is going to boom or bust. Quite simply, I love talking NFL. However, my main gripe is that the overwhelming majority of posts here are either people fishing for compliments on their gamble on a certain rookie or sleeper, or someone making fun of them for picking that player. If analyzing the faults and benefits of this thread is pretentious, then call me Bill fucking Maher

Possibly Jones. Hogan's a real safe bet but could also be frustratingly stagnant. As a Bills fan I'd love to see Zay break out and do something for us, and chances are he will a game or two, but I really don't think the Bill's offense is in the position to reliably sustain any fantasy player other than shady, based off their history and current status
