>Arsenal are in "crisis from top to bottom" and manager Arsene Wenger should leave, according to former Gunners striker Ian Wright.

>"It's an absolute nightmare," said Wright, who scored 128 goals for Arsenal.

>"Why can't we get the players to play for us? Wenger carries the can," he told BBC Radio 5 live.

>Wright, a member of Wenger's league and FA Cup double squad of 1997-98, added: "It comes back to his door. We are three games in and are at crisis point.

>"Do I think he should go? I'd like him to go because I do not believe now he can motivate the players. It's for himself and for his own sanity.

>"It's an absolute nightmare - where does he go from here? That team has not played for Wenger for years."

>"Wenger is to blame - he led everybody a merry dance," said the 44-year-old. "He mesmerised supporters like the Pied Piper.

Can't wait for the next home game lads hear a march is being organised
>>
>>77902662
This is the worrying thing. There's a complete absence of cohesion in the teams we're fielding. We don't have a functional midfield unit. We don't have a functional defensive unit. We don't have functional wing play.

This Arsenal team is lost and so are the fans. I never used to be at a complete loss regarding the manager's decisions but I have a hard time understanding what it is we're trying to achieve right now.

The Xhaka-Ramsey midfield partnership is deeply flawed. We literally had to implement a back 3 in order to accommodate it and lost a player from attack. In exchange we're accommodating an immobile playmaker who has no positional or defensive discipline and a box-to-box midfielder who frequently gets caught upfield because he really wants to be a #10.

We genuinely had a more balanced midfield when the likes of Denilson and Song were playing alongside Fabregas.

The bright side to selling Ox is that it puts an end to this stupid spell of fielding Bellerin on the left and might actually give Kolasinac a chance to play in his best position.

Fantastic read in Sportsmail about the dressing room atmosphere after the Liverpool match. Won't bothering link it because people get genuinely (seriously it's embarrassing) upset by the Mail, but here's the key parts:

>Another defeat, another virtually silent dressing room. If there was ever a time to air some home truths then Anfield’s away facilities at around 6pm on Sunday was it. Petr Cech is understood to have had a few choice words to say — but by and large, yet again, it was a morgue. Lifeless. The biggest apology arrived on social media by Mesut Ozil. It’s easier that way.

>The players do care. They’ve clashed in the dressing room before, particularly after their humiliating 5-1 loss at Bayern Munich in February. on Arsenal’s underperforming stars.

>Arsene Wenger was within his rights to unleash hell after the 4-0 defeat by Liverpool. But he didn’t, instead choosing to bottle up his feelings and retreat into the international break. To his players and staff, however, it was not surprising.

>This summer was supposed to be the time for change at the Emirates. But those behind the scenes say nothing has really altered. Yes, there have been some new appointments. Jens Lehmann has joined the coaching staff, and Darren Burgess has become the head of high performance. Tony Colbert, a long-term Wenger aide, has joined the technical staff despite having a background in fitness coaching.

>But all staff appointments go through Wenger. And despite the change in faces, the club’s training sessions — on the pitch and off it — are largely the same, much to the players’ disapproval. They have been going through the same old routine for years. No wonder they are producing the same old results.

...

>Alexis Sanchez wants out, too. Sportsmail understands his representatives have now told Arsenal officials that the striker will not sign a new deal under any circumstances. Arsenal have offered him £300,000 a week.
>>
I just came here to say that I think that Arsenal has a good squad and that Ox.-Chamberlain could come good for Chelsea.
>>
Obviously it's not the start we would of wanted but it's still good. We have 3 points from 3 games against The champions from 2 seasons ago, Liverpool and away to stoke city and we were extremely unlucky against stoke and probably deserved a draw against Liverpool

All we need is to sign someone to replace the OX and we have a good shot at the league title despite the extra european games
>>

Wenger's probably told him he wants him gone.

But that has been happening for several years now.

Seriously who in the dressing room has some fucking fire and bollocks on them to have a go?

Every year is the same old thing except it is even worse now for Wenger.

There will be no last minute signings
No 'world class' player at the death
No turning around the supporters
No fixing the problems in defence yet again

Feel sorry for Wenger though even though he has caused the vast majority of the problems because he could have finished on at least somekind of high going out as FA cup winners.

Now that the dust is starting to settle, these 2 defeats are a blessing in disguise in my opinion. Things needed to go this low to realise things need to change. I think now more than ever the players, staff are actually feeling threatened for their positions. Wenger is cleaning house I have no doubt, not every deadwood and players that he put trust in for all these years is going to go in this transfer window but some will. It's a little too late for 5 signings or something like that to replace but he should go all in this winter and next summer (if he lasts that long and the board backs him up).
I'm legit at last happy that he realises that Ox, Ramsey, Coquelin, Wilshere, Gibbs, Walcott are getting the boot.
Welbeck should go too.

Not everyone is going to agree but I was kind of sad that Szczesny was sold, Gnabry too and I'm still skeptical about selling Perez which actually produces something with limited time he had on the pitch.
Reconsider moving Mustafi, although he looks shaky, Holding is much worse. Debuchy should get a chance too imo.

a bunch of fans that have never played sports before don't really understand how complicated locker room dynamics are in Sports. Another thing is locker room dynamics change constantly and basically become completely toxic when you start losing and morale plummets.

The thing is not just ANYBODY can become the ""leader"" on the team. Alexis gets frustrated too easily and takes his anger out on other players even when he messes up, so I'm sure he has lots of enemies in the locker room even if he's the best player. He's not a leader at Arsenal.

The guys that could really step up are few and far between. If you're not one of the better players on the team nobody's going to give a shit about what you say anyways (somebody like Ox isn't going to get respect from Alexis or Ozil). Ozil's too soft spoken. Cech leads by example but I can't see him being too vocal anymore. I'm sure Kola or Lacazette could step up and become a leader on the team if Wenger gives them a fucking chance to.

What you wrote read like a satire of a delusional Arsenal fan. I wasn't sure if you were being serious or not.

I'd say the Arsenal situation is simple. Wenger has a good job and makes an assload of money. Kroenke is happy as long as Arsenal makes money for him. The way they make money is being in the top 4 - that's all that matters. Kroenke employs Wenger to keep Arsenal in the top 4. He has a good track record of doing this - hitting his target like a manager at a corporate entity (which is what he is and Arsenal is). So he kept his job because he hit his target. Then he fucked up, by one point, one season. Kroenke thinks "he's done it all the other seasons and was unlucky this one time - let's give him another chance before we endure the risk/expense of replacing him. CEOs usually don't fire long-time managers who have brought in the cash and been good company men for one disappointing year.

All the shit about lack of ambition, disappointed fans, price gouging for an increasingly mediocre product, direction of the club, disaffected players... it's all irrelevant to Kroenke and, on some level, Wenger as long as the club keeps pulling dat money in.

Leadership starts with the manager. Wenger does nothing to punish shit performance. The team knows this. Sure they probably bitch and moan in the locker rooms, but at the end of the day no one actually gives a shit, because their positions are safe and they stay on wenger's good side.

We saw what happens when they don't stay on his good side last season with Alexis. Even though he was by and far the best fucking player on the side, Wenger fucking benched him. That's a disgrace.

Sacking the manager at the very start of the league is not a smart move. He should've been handed the boot at the end of the previous one. Additionally, the new manager couldn't even panic buy anyone as the window closes in two days.

Regardless if you are Wenger in or Wenger out, there is no denying some sort of tension between Wenger and either the board or another faction in the club.

This is evident in the purchase and sales of Perez and Mustafi for example. I mean why would you sell Mustafi after 1 season, and on top of that why purchase Perez and not play him at all then just sell him. And mind you, both players didn't do too bad when they played.

I mean looking at Aaron Ramsey's stats, for a player who literally lives in the opponents box he certainly has shit end product; with the exception of his 13/14 season of course. But somehow he is almost an automatic starter for Wenger. It's so fucking bizarre.

GeoffArsenal @GeoffArsenal
There was a meeting yesterday. There are players that'l be sold. He only wants to keep the players that 100% want to play for The Arsenal.

Guardian | Sterling is open to #AFC move in a package involving cash offered by City to get Alexis.

Sky sources: Manchester City will make an offer for Alexis Sanchez this week.

We understand City are desperate to sign Sanchez from Arsenal before the window closes on Thursday.

One source has confirmed to us that City are willing to offer Raheem Sterling as part of the deal. However, another player who could be involved in a potential deal is Sergio Aguero – although City have made it clear that he is not for sale.

We are also told that Sanchez is unhappy at Arsenal and wants to leave. Arsenal’s position remains that he is happy and staying – even though he has less than a year left on his contract.

>There was a meeting yesterday. There are players that'l be sold. He only wants to keep the players that 100% want to play for The Arsenal.
He's going to sell everyone then.
>>
>When later pressed on his interest in Hazard, Wenger made clear that due to a surfeit of forwards there would be no move until this summer at the earliest. "We have 17 strikers," he explained. "In the offensive department, we have many players. If I give Carlos Vela and Jay [Emmanuel-]Thomas out [on loan], it is because we have what it takes. At the end of the season we'll have a look at the situation but at the moment it's completely ruled out."

It's not ridiculous or obscure.

A dribble in the box is useful because a player fouled in the box wins a pen. Also the box is the hardest place to dribble on the pitch.

Chamberlain's dribbles are high because he just runs into space. The stat on Sterling is useful.

Nah, it's a shit squad. No surprise an aussie would think it's decent though.
>>

>Kolasinac, Lacazette
Not starting 11 material, mate.
There's a reason both of those shitters were on bench in Liverpool.
And whatever happened to the 3-at-the-back system that brought us up to 5th place last season? Wonga so quick to abandon his brilliant tactique? What a shmuck.
>>
>>77911309
>>77911314
Just to confirm before I destroy you dumb fucks, you SERIOUSLY believe that CHAMBERLAIN who can't score more than 2 goals a season is better than Sterling?
>>

i guess theres also a reason why wonga plays half the squad out of position. hes truly a genius

lmao this internet tough guy

Learn how to understand numbers first
>>

But he scored 7 goals instead of 2 last season

With 1000 extra minutes and while being worse in every other regard, sure, b-but still!!
>>
£40m for Ox is probably our best transfer of all time.

I'd take Sterling + cash for Sanchez too, but Wenger would probably put him straight in a LWB and he'd never improve. This 3 at the back meme really, really needs to end.
>>
>>77911371
I'd expect this stupidity from another flag. Are you American vacationing in Britain?
>>
>>77911360
Oneday Arsenal fans will learn the value of Stoicism
>>
>>77911256
They aren't really comparable. Sterling is a winger. Ox is cm/wingback who does more work because arsenal is fucking terrible. Sterling meanwhile has a team and midfield that works.
>>
>>77911268
So most "real" fans are cucks that enjoy their team getting stomped 4-0 and 5-1 by teams they should be level with? Those aren't even respectable scorelines.
>>
>>77911276
Even the tactics could work if anyone on the team had some passion. No one cares. Forget tactics, forget quality of players, if no one gives a shit failure becomes acceptable.
>>
>>77911458
>Ox is cm/wingback
kek no he's not lad. he's played way, way more games as a winger

Using this image alone, Sterling has taken less shots per game and scored 2 goals. Chamberlain takes 3 shots per game (so far) and has scored 0 goals. This is even worse for Chamberlain since he has played 75% more minutes than Sterling.

>>77911256
These stats, where you have removed goals scored on purpose, are skewed in Chamberlain's favour since Sterling has played 2500 minutes compared to 1500 minutes by Chamberlain. Chamberlain is so shit he was a sub for most of the season before being moved to RB.

So the only stats that matter here are the totals. Where we can see how obvious it is that Sterling is the superior player in goals, shot accuracy, take ones, etc.

Although due to Chamberlain's terrible minutes, this comparison has it's faults as well. We have to use average by game to compare the players since the minutes they have played is so different. Again, this shows Sterling to be the better player. There are problems with this too, since Chamberlain is a sub and not a starter, but Chamberlain being too shit to put up Sterling's numbers is hos own fault and thus the overwhelming evidence shows Sterling is more likely to score + assist + create chancess than Chamberlain.
>>
>>77911318
Are you actually saying that Huddersfield has a better squad than arsenal atm?

Chamberlain is a steaming hot turd.

Reminder that the swap is Sterling for Alexis, and therefore anyone defending the deal should be comparing those two players.

>>
>>77911570
Not under Wenger though. Sterling has definitely improved under Pep, but he'll definitely go backwards if we sign him.
>>
>>77911511
Yes we all know that. It doesn't change the fact he isn't a winger. Wenger has been playing him out of position for years. Why do you think only when he's been played cm/wingback he's been so much more effective?
>>
>>77911622
No, he's a fucking winger. It's the same as the Walcott shit where he was confused about where to play. Ox is and will always be a winger.
>>
>>77911556
>>77911608
Nobody is defending the deal. I don't want Sterling at Arsenal, the discussion was about if Sterling is good or not (he is) and if Chamberlain is better (he isn't).
>>
>>77911620
Sterling is a fucking awful player. There was a moment during the Bournemouth game where Pep had his head in his hands watching Sterlel run the ball out of play.
>>
>>77911308
coutinho's place
>>
>>77911667
I thought Naby Keita was replacing Coutinho.
>>
>>77911654
What does it say about how awful are players are then, if Sterling would be our best winger after Sanchez? If Sterling is shit then I'd rather have shit than the complete shit we've got now.
>>
>>77911637
>Ox is and will always be a winger
You're pretty delusional for a Brit. You'll see the difference once he replaces Moses at Chelsea.
>>
>>77911654
Oh you mean the game where he scored the winning goal
>>
>>77911622
When the fuck was Chamberlain effective at CM? Name one game he was good there.

Name one game where he has defended well.
>>
>>77911701
Yeah that game. Aaron Ramsey scored an important goal against Leicester. Does that make him a good player? Absolutely not.
>>
>>77911688
You're not realising your mistake here. Victor Moses is still a winger, he's just playing in the wingback position. He can't defend for shit and doesn't have all the qualities of a good wingback.
It will be the exact same for Ox because he is a winger.
>>
>>77911729
Does Ramsey score often?
>>
>>77907097
It aint hard.

Wenger says nowt half the time, no real strong characters in the room anymore and im thinking of the likes of Adams/Keown/Campbell etc.

Problem is they know other clubs want them, they can move or organize one drop of a hat and there is no loyalty anymore and short term contracts and big money have ruined the game desu.
>>
>>77911681
lemar seems more suited for that role imo, and he would join them this season

>>
How is Wenger gonna spin it when Liverpool sign Lemar?
>>
>>77911783
In an FA Cup game where we played the youth and still won 5-0 with donkey Welbeck leading the line (getting 2 goals)

lol. I remember that game, he was mediocre against terrible competition.
>>
>>77911848
He will say it's hard to find quality for the right price.
>>
>>77910949
he's also 29. We never build for the future, we never have a transfer strategy. It's just throwing shit at the wall and hoping some of it sticks
>>
>>77911773
Does Sterling? No. Sterling has 2 PL goals so far this season. He'll finish with ~8 total.

2 wingers. 2 wingbacks.
Victor Moses might be a "winger" by trade. Doesn't mean shit if he sucks as a winger and plays much better as a wingback.

Same shit for ox. He may be a "winger" but is much better suited for midfield. Simple really.
>>
>>77911873
He doesn't have to. City has goals coming from every position. Ramsey was brought in to be that midfielder who makes late runs and scores, that was the purpose for bringing him in. He hasn't done that.

>>
>>77912175
Was just about to post this. If it does turn into a swap I have no idea why Sterling would agree to it.
>>
>>77912204
he won't agree to it, he has no reason to. he'll stay there, mark my words.he played all three games so far, he'll stay to fight for a place. and then we bring out walcott like he's a new signing, every fucking year it's too late to get the proper replacements, we all know this
>>

Sterling will stay at City and we'll sell them Alexis anyway.

There is a disgusting lack of Elneny OUT rumours.

Kim Källström on loan seems fitting tbqh.

Malmö are running away with the league and Djurgården are fairly stable.

what a shit squad, the only reason arsenal weren't midtable last season was alexis. This season they will be lucky to get 6th or 7th

All the things that used to attract players despite the lack of trophies, don't really count for shit now.

He's pretty much tarnished his legacy dramatically in the last 5 years

Chelsea are so far ahead of us at the moment and also you'd probably rather go to Spurs if simply playing in London was a factor.
