Freestyle wrestlers, bjj guys, and even the occasional karate competitors (like Wonderboy) sometimes just have that urge to compete and see what they can do with it all on the line. Boxing has massive subscription channels and PPV prices in the US which prevents it from getting as big of an audience as it does in Germany and the UK, or Eastern Europe where its free on regular cable.

Ever since the 50s, boxing in the US has increasingly let fans come to them and not the other way around. MMA/UFC is coming to the fans, so prospective white fighters will go into MMA instead.

Boxing is a much more dangerous sport than MMA too because of the much greater head trauma. Lots of people have been killed boxing but MMA only has one "kind-of" death with a guy who had prior health problems and shouldn't have been fighting anyway.

It's generally a poor person's sport. Ergo, immigrants and non-whites. This will happen/is happening in Europe too.

The only serious boxing gyms are in deep all-black ghettos.

Culturally for whites it's an old-person's sport (Ex: people like Larry Merchant and Teddy Atlas).
