i'm joking. the possible denver package for irving that was rumored/imagined had shooters. beverley is actually a fine enough shooter and i'd love to see irving on the clippers but they don't have a 2018 lottery pick for cleveland. mirotic is unsigned so far; irving and shumpert for lavine, zipser, s&t mirotic and the bulls 1st?

Legit question: If the Cavs knew how serious IT's injury was, why would they trade Kyrie in a package that doesn't involve a starting PG?

Celtics were trying to fool an inexperienced GM who didn't know that you can't trust Ainge.
>>
>>77883327
I don't like that Bulls deal but that's in large part because I'm really low on Lavine (I think he's going to be a really good sixth man scorer off the bench type but I'm not sure he's more than that)

That said, if the Celtics trade falls through, there's still plenty of offers out there for Cleveland. Kyrie is still a 25-year-old All-Star who's getting traded for reasons unrelated to his basketball ability. The thing that made Boston's offer so good is that it managed to keep them competitive this year while also building for the long term. But if Isaiah's hip actually is worse than is reported, then obviously the deal is much worse for them in the near-term than we initially thought, which brings the other deals that are out there a lot closer. I think Phoenix is most likely - they can give a lot of value if Cleveland doesn't insist on getting Josh Jackson back. I think the 2018 Phoenix pick, 2018 Miami pick, Bledsoe, and maybe another role player gets it done easily and I think Phoenix would do that. Denver could make something happen too, and a Kyrie - Jokic team up could be an amazingly fun thing to watch.

I still think the most likely thing is that the Celtics will give up another first rounder, or a couple seconds and a young player who is not Smart, Brown, Tatum, or Ojeleye, or something like that. And I think the Celtics would be incredibly stupid not to give up a package like that to make the deal work. But maybe they're going to dig their heels in. I don't know.

>>
>>77883507
well it's a very fluid and exciting situation. i'm having fun with it.

i like the suns ideas the most too, makes the most sense to me. bledsoe feels like a good fit on the cavs team, and the suns are probably the team that'd make the shortest leap with kyrie, so their own first-round pick should remain at least close to the top 5 next draft and thus valuable. kyrie on the nuggets makes them a playoff team more likely than not.
>>
A lineup built around Kyrie Irving, Devin Booker, and TJ Warren would be soooooooooooooo bad defensively but it would be sooooooooo fun to watch
>>
/sp/ told me Pooprie is the best pg in the league if he can't carry the celtics to the finals he's a fraud.

desu i hope the denver keep their guys together. they have a nice young core (jokic, murray, harris, possibly also hernangomez, beasley, lyles) and good vets, to whom they added millsap. good coach, solid culture. not too hot about mudiay. they can grow organically into something and maybe be ready whenever the dubs start to fall apart.
>>
>>77883961
If LeBron goes to LA he's ending his legacy as a failure and the most overrated player ever after talking a whole bunch of shit and trying to be better than MJ. He's not winning there at all, would just go there to retire, live in luxury, and be focused on outside business more than basketball. Would be a huge white flag to show he's a quitter. LeBron is not that much of a coward. He'll go to a team that already has 1 or 2 all stars and good cap situation with tradeable or complementary roleplayers, preferably young so they fetch more return in a trade. Just like he did when he went back to Cleveland.
>>
>>77883132
Whoever goes to the /nba/ meetup I hope someone shoots all of you faggots
>>
>>77884306
They have a lot of great pieces but it doesn't quite fit together yet I don't think. Murray and Harris play the same position, it's not clear they have anyone who's a real primary ballhandler, low on small forwards, a bunch of little stuff like that. The pieces are good and Jokic is so fucking good that you would think they'll eventually figure it out. You have to think Harris is getting dealt.

Also, Mudiay is trash.
>>
>>77884923
yeah you're probably right. murray at point guard looks like a solid stopgap solution but it's still an awkward fit to some degree. but they have time, they don't have to solve this right away.

Just received the 2017/2018 NBA official script book. The idea this year will be to frame LeBron as the all-time great riddled with strife. His protege left him (the Celtics trade will go through in the end) and Cleveland is in shambles. LeBron will be injured for most of the first half of the season until DeMarcus is traded for the Nets pick.

Cleveland will then finish after the all star break 40-2 and LeBron will claim MVP. The finals will be brought to 7 games but DeMarcus will be suspended for the final game. 'Payback' for 2016 is how it will be framed but really it is just the prelude for the dissolution of the Cavs. Thomas, DeMarcus and LeBron all will leave next summer. DeMarcus to LA, Thomas to the Wolves, and LeBron to OKC. The LeBron-to-OKC drama will unfold after 'tension' with Durant and the Warriors and rumors that Durant wants back in to OKC after OKC made it to the WCF.

LeBron is stealing Durant's proverbial home, which will be the storyline for the 2018-2019 season.

Any questions?

>>77886491
I'm sorry if you're jealous of my insider access but you shouldn't be. It was an early career choice, and if you wanted the same career, you probably could have it.

The NBA uses macro-psychological profiles to target certain regions with their storylines. Right now, the LeBron storyline is convoluted because it is suppose to be a flyover vs. costal elite battle against the Warriors but LeBron's identity is too much of the 'coastal elite'.

The Oklahoma match is a compromise, because of the tension between LeBron and Durant. Durant's masochism makes him perfect to fill the 'coastal elite' roll (he hates himself).

The Rockets will win the majority of their nationally televised games.

Spurs will go out in the second round to the Rockets. They won't be hyped this year, we're delaying Kawhi's 'MVP' year for when he can battle LeBron in the WCF.
>>
I do think, with the Solomon Hill injury, that Boogie and possibly AD getting traded this year is in play for real

that roster gets real, real ugly once you get past Jrue, Boogie, and AD. their rotation now consists of Rajon Rondeaux, Jordan Crawford, Quincy Pondexter, Alexis Ajinca, E'Twaun Moore, Darius Miller, and Ian Clark. I mean.... jesus fucking christ that is a bad roster. That is brutal.

>>
>>77890555
Which is funny because the Celtics usually overstate their injuries.

Wonder who is actually telling the truth here.
>>
>>77890577
Not really. If ainge says no they wont find a better trade and then theyll go from the best outcome to the shittiest outcome in a matter of a week
>>
>>77890569
Crowder is literally a non-issue.
The IT being cancer thing could be a problem though, but why would cleveland give up the best offer possible on that small contingency?
>>
>>77890577
It could be that they just... disagree.

But I tend to believe the Cavs a little more, for two reasons. First, it's a hip injury, which is something that absolutely has a possibility to fuck a player up in a major way that takes a really long time to recover from. Second, it feels like after the trade was initially announced, there was a lot of dark hinting from Boston people (front office, media people, Bill Simmons) that they were really really worried about his hip. Which is a reasonable thing to be worried about but it does cause you to question: how certain were they that it would only be a month?
>>
>>77890611
Meant to reply to>>77890569
>>
>>77890611
But Boston would also go from the best outcome for them to the shittiest outcome for them.

Avoiding that is worth more than a draft pick.
>>
>>77890611
>>77890617
I wasn't being rhetorical with my second statement by the way. I was seriously saying I wonder who is actually telling the truth.

And the difference between "out for a month" versus "out for the season" is too different to just be a disagreement, someone is stretching the truth. Question is: who?
>>
>>77886744
They aren't dealing AD. Nola's roster has been fucking terrible for a long time.

Pels problem is they tank, get one great player, get dragged to mediocrity, they leave, repeat. Their front office is incapable of building supporting roster from fringe prospects. Contrast with the Texas triangle teams which are able to continually become respectable despite shit picks year after year.
>>
>>77890611
he already lost out on butler and pg13, he has to get kyrie or this off-season has been a huge loss.
>>
>>77890644
>And the difference between "out for a month" versus "out for the season" is too different to just be a disagreement, someone is stretching the truth. Question is: who?

It could be that Cleveland thinks he'll need surgery (which IIRC takes something like 6-9 months to recover from) whereas Boston thinks that he doesn't need surgery & that resting it will be enough
>>
>>77890611
The Cavs can find a trade on par that includes a respectable healthy PG, which is what they need and was key to the deal.

I can legit see them vetoing the trade.
>>
Just throw in an extra pick and be done with it
>>
>>77890677
> he has to get kyrie or this off-season has been a huge loss.
He got Hayward and basically flipped the entire fucking team.

In what way would this off-season be a huge loss lmao
>>
>>77890769
If they don't get Kyrie, they're suddenly in a position where they've basically just replaced Isaiah Thomas with Gordon Hayward, while also losing Avery Bradley and getting Jae Crowder to hate them. Because IT is done for them. So if they don't get Kyrie, their best player is Gordon Hayward and their second best player is Horford going into the season.

Ainge really fucked himself over by burning his bridges with IT. Cavs have advantage, I'm guessing this is done by Tuesday, late first added.

Ainge isn't stupid enough to add Jaylen or Tatum, he'd lose his job, I hope knows that. I'd lead the riot myself if he does.
>>
>>77891337
>by burning his bridges with IT.
He never fucking burned bridges, he just traded him, that's not the same thing if IT just feels betrayed. There was no smear campaign or active effort to get him out. He was only part of a trade for only one of the best PGs in the game at a younger age with more control.

Not that I necessarily disagree with any of your points, but the "burned bridges with IT" thing is retarded.
>>
>>77891358
Can you see him wearing Celtics green again? I can't. IT is an emotional guy, Ainge is a heartless bastard, it's the worse situation you can imagine.

I like Ainge results wise but in this new NBA I wish we had someone who could form relationships with players instead of treating them like cum rags after he's done with them
>>
https://twitter.com/danielrainge/status/892577347240460288

I knew it was over when this little bitch Ainge said this
>>
>>77891407
>Can you see him wearing Celtics green again? I can't.
I can, because he's a 28 year old going into a Free Agency year with a humongous injury concern.

He's still being paid somewhere on the range of $6M. If the Celtics buy him out, then he'd have to go somewhere far shittier that will only take him at vet minimum, because no one will paying even more for a guy that the Cavs say might be out for the year. And that would mean Isaiah would have to leave a Celtics system that is specifically catered to him, giving him the best opportunities to thrive. That would mean his play would inevitably decline elsewhere, and his FA payday won't be as big as he'd hope.

Add to the fact that Ainge has complete control. He doesn't have to buy him out. He can wait Isaiah out. It's on Isaiah to make his money next year, and sitting down and pouting will only harm himself in the future. So IT will HAVE to play if he doesn't get bought out to ensure that he can make some money next year.

Isaiah doesn't have any leverage. The ball is still in Danny's court. He'll begrudgingly have to play, and to the best of his ability if he wants to secure his financial future.

The next year isn't the downside for Ainge. It's the year after when IT walks for nothing, and Ainge is left with his dick in his hand knowing what little else to do. That's what should concern Celtics fans more. Not next year, but the year after.
>>
>>77891459

>Ainge has complete control. He doesn't have to buy him out. He can wait Isaiah out. It's on Isaiah to make his money next year, and sitting down and pouting will only harm himself in the future.

That may be true but this is gonna fuck over future FA prospects
>>
>>77891512
That could also be a potential issue, but that's a risk Ainge was willing to take when he first made the trade. And that held even with the newer events unfolding.

Trading a guy that bled for you and gave you everything, that played not even a day after his sister died, that made it very obvious he absolutely wanted to stay in Boston, was not particularly the best showing for FAs that Boston values loyalty.

>>77891459
I think Isaiah will be perfectly happy taking the chance with the vet minimum somewhere else. And I think at a certain point they'll give him a buy out rather than take the risk of pissing off agents and future FAs. At least with the trade, you can say, you know, we had to take a shot at Kyrie, it's just business. Punitively holding him back from a buyout is a whole other thing.

And also, more importantly, as you point out: Ainge is going to be left holding his dick in his hands vis-a-vis Isaiah unless he completes this trade right here. It's literally his only chance not to be left with nothing. He has to throw a pick or two in there.
>>
>>77891590
>I think Isaiah will be perfectly happy taking the chance with the vet minimum somewhere else.
But why? Why go to a shittier team with a shittier system that may not be very good for your stats and playing ability? Especially when all the good teams already have point guards and probably aren't willing to take risks on an injured 28-year old tiny point guard.

That would be just the worst idea for him. I don't know; maybe he is that pissed off and bitter, but that's a pretty ridiculous and somewhat childish way to look at it if you're in his shoes.
>>
>>77891337
How about the Cavs get the Clippers pick too?

Cavs then trade their pick, the Clippers pick and Shumpert to the Clippers for Pat Bev and filler (e.g. Dekker to make salaries match)
>>
>>77891631
I think Isaiah believes in his own abilities as a player - that he's a good enough player to put up numbers wherever he goes if he's healthy. And I think he's right to do so. If he's healthy, he's a really good offensive player wherever he plays. If he's not healthy, he's not going to get paid regardless of where he plays. I don't think he's as system-dependent a player as you do. I think teams could easily find ways to work him in, and I think they'd be very willing to do so for the kind of performance that he can bring. The idea that someone who put up the offensive performance that Isaiah did last season wouldn't be able to find playing time somewhere seems kinda ludicrous.

And I think he's pretty fucking pissed at Boston, and reasonably so. That kind of stuff does play a role in most peoples' decisions, just in general in life.

Well, no, it's not literally the same thing. 2nd rounders don't have a lot of value, but being willing to give up anything at all is a departure from saying that you represented the injury completely accurately and the deal on the table is final. >but big enough that you get a decent sample size to work with.
That's also another thing. We don't even know if many of the 1st-rounds from the past four years (excluding '17) will end up being worthwhile players, let alone the 2nd-rounders.

>>77892534
Well, nvm. This guy seems like he's kinda on the money.
>>
>>77892251
You do realize that they actually were the 3rd seed last year, right? By like 4 games? And I don't care how much you dislike Chris Paul. A team that replaces Patrick Beverley with Chris Paul has improved. What a bizarre position to take - that the 3rd seed in the Western Conference added Chris Paul and somehow got much worse.

I could see OKC being better than them. I think Houston is still a little better than them, but that's possible. But it's really hard to see Minnesota being better than them - I like Minnesota, but they have a lot of roster turnover, they're going to have real spacing problems, and they still have a lot of young players who have never played real defense. Let alone Denver - I love their front court but that roster doesn't make a lick of sense.

Being good on a team that goes nowhere doesnt mean anything, it just means you were the best player on a shit team. Nothing more. If that was the case parity would never be an issue inthe NBA. And being fortunate to be drafted into a good franchise like the Spurs doesnt make you good either, it just means you can play in a rigid system that asks you to sacrifice your identity to contribute to the team effort. Ask Danny Green or Matt Bonner how that worked for them.

Point is none of these players are franchise level players or even All-Star caliber. (Sans Drayboon but thats another story) They are good pieces, yes but if The Celtics are going to pull this shit with the Cavs I can definately see the Cavs pulling out. Why take a future second round middling piece that will be a question mark until 4-5 years in instead of asking for a rookie with much more talent and potiential? Especially after the Celtics tried to pawn off their IR guard like he was a stallion. Fuck that

Defensively, presumably they're going to put CP3 on Beverley's assignments. Which is a downgrade but CP3 is a good guard defender.

Offensively, there's some risk that they won't figure out but in principle, if they can find a way to make it work, having CP3 at point guard and Harden at SG would be extremely good. Moving Harden back to SG to accomodate CP3 is not going to destroy their offense. That is a good offensive move. I don't know what else to tell you. Harden is very good at playing shooting guard.

Also don't tell me that losing a first round pick is going to make them a worse team next year. Ridiculous. Don't be a bad idiot.

Friendly reminder that your team did not trade away its Multi All Star selected player for an athletic guard that is coming off an ACL injury. An "old" second year PG that could not win the starting job even when his old team was trying to push the guy in front of him out the door. And the 7th pick in an 8 player deep draft which ended up being not one of those cornerstones but a lanklet from Finland. And they gave the team their own first rounder in the process.

So you know. If your team had a poor offseason it was not the worst offseason. Be glad about that!

>You have to think Harris is getting dealt.
I really hope >we keep him. He's the perfect guy for playing next to Jokic, and they're both only 22. Harris cuts well, shoots well, defends well. A good comparison is Avery Bradley, except trade some D for O, except Harris is playing at that level now, not at Bradley's age.

I still believe Murray can be a full-time point guard next to Harris, who's a good handler for a SG, and Jokic, who you want to put the ball in his hands. My hopes for the SF situation is that Juancho is able to become quick enough to defend there, because he can more than play offense there.

>>77891298

I like Harris, I just think that Harris and Murray play the same position and Murray is better. I just don't believe that Murray is ever going to be an actual point guard. I just tihnk it's always going to be awkward.

And I don't think Juancho is going to get to the point where you can start him consistently as a SF. at the very least I wouldn't count on it.

>Murray is better.
Not right now. But, I think Murray has Steph's kind of shooting in him, and you can't let that go. I think both are going to become excellent players, and if they do play in the same position, then hopefully any trade deal involving one of the two will bring back a huge return.

Regardless, I don't see starting both as a huge issue. Jokic will play the point for 30+ minutes every night for the Nugs for the next 6 years, and a backup actual point guard can play the rest. Meanwhile, Harris and Murray can both play well as athletic off-ball cutters and shooters.

And I'm not really hedging my bets on Juancho either, it's more hope than expectation. But young guys are moldable. Regardless, the Nugs do need a quality SF, and there's room in FA, and a lot of their assets are very movable and valuable for certain teams. I'd like to think playing next to Jokic will be a pull for stars, but I guess that depends on how well Millsap does next to him as a test case.

What's sad is I love you 'cause you're my brother
You traded your soul for riches
My child, I've watched you grow up to be famous
And now I smile like a proud dad, watching his only son that made it
You seem to be only concerned with dissing trips
Were you abused as a child, scared to smile, they called you ugly?
Well life is hard, hug me, don't reject me
Or make records to disrespect me, blatent or indirectly
In '15 you was getting chased through your building
Calling my crib and I ain't even give you my numbers
All I did was gave you a style for you to run with
Smiling in my face, glad to break bread with the god
Wearing Wiz chains, no (you)s, no memes, no anons
No discord Harry, no fans , no case
Just Stephen Curry shirts, posting like you were eight
You a fan, a phony, a fake, a pussy, a Stan

Guys, did LeBron really do steroids? I looked like he used to do steroids, but then after the NBA changed their drug testing to be more accurate LeBron famously looked a lot skinnier and said that "cutting carbs from his diet" was the reason that happened but that's BS because Ketogenic diets don't make you that damn skinny and lose muscle mass.

Seems to me he stopped doing steroids after learning about the drug testing change and you can tell he's still athletic but nothing like he used to be in 2011-2013.

Steroids aren't what decide how big someone is. You think to eat the right diet and lift enough weights to look big. Steroids apply to all sports because of the recovery benefit they provide. Every player in the NBA is on steroids

LeBron is the ultimate ring-chaser.
>>
>>77894390
He took PEDs to go to an insane physical level in the past when he was athletically beyond anything ever seen in the NBA, during his prime in the 2011-2013 seasons. He was previously built and buff during the 2010 season, his last in Cleveland, and clearly looked much different than when he was first drafted, this is normal for good players, they always gain muscle and fill out their frames. But LeBron made an insane jump physically and visibly got way bigger than previously before, but as soon as the NBA changed their drug testing methods and policy not only did LeBron out of no where lose a ton of body/muscle mass but other players like Melo did as well. This was passed off as them going to Ketogenic/low carb diets. But this is BS because changing the amount of carbs you eat doesn't drastically decrease your muscle mass, this is usually because you've lost your gains aka calorie/protein intake plus reduced workouts. And Steroids takes you to the next level that's otherwise impossible being natty as your body naturally works a certain way that doesn't allow you to do so. Growth hormone and testosterone intake messes with your natural metabolism and muscle growth to allow you to gain more muscle and cardio vascular capacity.

Seems likely to me LeBron was juicing and evading the NBA's previous drug test by cycling and exploiting loopholes. After the change was made to reduce this he stopped and you could physically see he and others changed as soon as this happened.

But what would be the point? Steroids are easy as fuck to mask these days. Considering how he's still big as fuck now he was likely trying to figure out a new way to cycle with the policy rather than stopping all together

> A sports insider operating under the alias “Incarcerated Bob” interviewed Jessica, the receptionist from Biogenesis. Jessica claimed that LeBron James’s agent, Rich Paul, regularly paid the clinic for goods, and that they were for someone with initials “LJ.” She also mentioned the initials “JN” (allegedly Jameer Nelson) from records and claimed that Nelson came to buy substances in person. A few months later, Bill Simmons suggested that some big stars would take a fall if the true extent of PED use were discovered, and that it seems both probable and likely that all major athletes in American sports have had access to drugs that the layman can’t fathom.

>To sum it up, Türkoğlu, Lewis and Nelson all had some connection to a Florida steroid ring that may be funneled through Biogenesis, where Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees got his PEDs.

>Naturally, all humans slow with age. But LeBron’s deceleration, a subject of much debate, many suggest came with some telltale signs of hormonal change that, frankly, happened in rapid succession. Shifting hairlines and increased head size are indicators of hormone boosting among players who we’ve discovered are users.

>In June 2009, LeBron had surgery to remove a growth from his jaw. Around 2011, the internet exploded with LeBron hairline memes, as it seemed he had undergone drastic effects male pattern baldness in the span of a few years. While there’s nothing certain, many feel the trail is certainly there to follow.

These guys are professionals and this is a business. They have no choice but to play for whoever their contract says that have to. If they decide to cause locker room hissy fits that's their loss, they're only losing out on money and potential brand deals. They can demand to be traded till they're blue in the face, but until then they have to play for whatever team they're assigned to.

You'll have to ask danny ainge that. If he gets traded it's because that's what the celtics wanted all along, not to do with any "feeling betrayed" bullshit.

We also never planned on him staying full term anyway, the plan was ALWAYS to either trade him or let him walk
>>
>>77900618
the problem is that this deal, and the way that it took place, completely cratered IT's value on any other trade

and if the Celtics were willing to let him walk, they wouldn't have made this trade in the first place
>>
>>77900710

cavs are only vetoing this trade if IT has legit hip problems, it's not like they're doing it just for fun. IF IT has legit hip problems then his trade value was already fucked anyway
>>
What did they mean by this?
>>
>>77900818
Cleveland can't get left holding their dicks in their hands here. If Boston doesn't offer something, Cleveland needs to be willing to void the trade, and I think they would be.

Of course it's a moot point because Boston already has offered something (2nd rounders) and now they're just negotiating over the price but still. You can't come out and say that you're only doing the trade if you get more assets, and not get more assets, and still do the trade.

>>77903073
like my dude I agree with you on the principle, but I also think that you don't really understand the factors driving American political outcomes and the extent to which enacting policies like that is genuinely difficult for deep structural reasons.

>>77903097
the Boston thing is taking a long time because the deadline isn't till Wednesday or Thursday (can't remember which). And no one has taken Melo because he is not a very good player anymore. Honestly the reason the deal makes sense for Houston is because it's a secret salary dump to get Ryan Anderson's contract off the books.

>>77903122
I mean, people do call their representatives, all the time, and try to take action, but there are a lot of particular circumstances that make things more complex

in particular, I would point to American federalism and the relative localism of a lot of American administration - so much stuff is administered at the local or state level that it's extremely hard to affect from outside. second, one of the deeper and more fundamental problems is that there are number of systems that combine to make it difficult to enact mass democratic change. when you look at stuff like gerrymandering, first-past-the-post, electoral college, voter registration, etc, etc, there are enormous structural disadvantages for people trying to implement policies like this, or get elected on policies like this. and people are trying and people are calling their damn representatives. but it's a massively uphill fight.

The Celtics and I have no idea why anyone says the Cavs.

if the trade gets voided, the Cavs go from getting Crowder, IT, and the Nets pick to getting probably Bledsoe and Phoenix' first rounder (or something like that).

if the trade gets voided, the Celtics go from getting Kyrie to losing Thomas for nothing at the end of the season. They can recoup some of that value with the Brooklyn pick and whatever second rounder Crowder will get, but that's a much bigger drop-off than the Cavs drop off.

But that scenario is a pipe dream, the Cavs are not gonna get a better deal anywhere else, so they should just swallow it unless they wanna just throw Kyrie to the wolves (literally) for nothing like the Bulls did.

do you think that this is still true after they tried to trade him? because I don't think it is

the Cavs aren't going to get a better deal but they're going to get a deal.

the Celtics are the team that's not going to get a better deal elsewhere. there is literally no other deal for them.

i think i have a decent idea. political sciences and public administration are two of my majors, i graduated on a thesis on multi-level governance, and now i'm working for my state on the ministry level. i know the US beyond WSHH and twitter too.

but i admit i adopted a fuck-it stance after your last presidential election. the structural deficits may be deeply ingrained, particularly with the electoral system and its many fucked up outgrowths, but man you've also taken your society into such a dark, dark place i've started to think you're beyond saving. so fuck it, enjoy your twilight days.

The Celties aren't dealing though. If Kyrie wasn't literally trying his hardest to get the fuck outta there, the Celitcs wouldn't have done anything like they always do since Danny Ainge is literally retarded as you all know.

so you think that the Celtics are OK with going with the plan of letting Isaiah Thomas walk without getting anything back for him and no replacement and no clear path to get a replacement for him?

I'm not saying I'm optimistic about the problems or where the culture is it and fuck you for criticizing it. That's not what I'm saying. It's not great. There are deep problems especially after the election.

I don't think it makes sense to look at what is happening and what happened, if you know what's going on, and say "Why isn't anyone doing anything? Why don't you call your representatives?" That is a weird critique to make especially immediately after a tragedy. It's not one that really makes sense with the context of American politics or that shows a really deep grasp of American politics. It's not really sensible or coherent.

okay got you, the issue is that i get weirdly irked by the word "supportive" while we actually agree even beyond just on principle. it always feels awfully hollow to me and makes me think it's neither sensible nor coherent to "show support" after the fact while letting the fact happen. and even if it's something real like setting up relief funds, which is fine and good and laudable, it's still also fostering the idea that post factum cobbling is somehow as valuable as ante factum measures.

maybe that's because i'm in public service now but man i just don't like it. there's lessons to be learned from harvey but i'm afraid no one will give a fuck.

but i realize that might be just a weird quirk of mine, so i apologize for any misunderstandings caused.
>>
>>77903661
yeah I agree with most of what you're saying here, it's easier to show empty support after tragedies than to actually do things. but i think ultimately, like, the challenge isn't learning the lessons from Harvey. anyone sensible knows what those lessons are. we already knew a lot of them. the challenge is getting the leverage to put those policies in place.
>>
>>77903699
right, maybe best think of harvey as yet another reminder. but you're getting so many reminders for so many issues but damn, it just keeps getting worse and like half of you guys seems to be fine with it. so yeah, sorry for yall but the long dark night is waiting
