Why isn't there weight limits in football or basketball?

because Americans wouldn't be allowed to compete
there's different positions in those sports

Basketball is fucking boring to watch, literally taking turns scoring on each other.

There are weight limits in youth football in some places. There's no limits in highschool, college, and professional football because people in different weight groups tend to play different positions so it works itself out. 250-300lbers play line, 200-250lbers play middle weight positions like TE, QB, LB, RB, FB, and maybe Defensive end if we are talking pure speed rushers. People under 200 tend to play WR, CB, Safety, etc, unless we are talking about someone who's purr athletic ability overcomes the weight barrier and justifies playing a middleweight position.
In basketball it doesn't even matter because it's not technically a contact sport. Being 300lbs or 150lbs doesnt help you if you can't move or jump. At most it'd help you box people out in the paint or fight for rebounds. But again, you can alleviate such a advantage by doing what Steph does and draining 3s.
In all honesty, for those sports, classing entire teams by height would make more sense before classing them by weight.

If you're under 130 pounds, is football a nogo for you
