2005 was the last time a good soccer game was released

everything since is just extra polygons with the same technical and gameplay problems as every previous edition with no sign of being fixed in spite of marketing that claims "new engines" and the like.

FIFA is an awful sports game. Every AI controlled team plays with identical tactics and every player feels the same except faster or slower. And it's been essentially the same game for over 10 years. If 2K ever made one of these EA would be BTFO yet again just like with NBA and NFL.

I'm tired of the absolute lack of collision detection even in modern FIFA in which balls go through legs. Also with players floating, sliding and bending body parts in impossible ways just to fulfil narratives. Why does a modern day video game get away with this?

passing assistance at a minimum and upping the game speed at +1 or +2 improves it a lot
