Its not a very exiciting stage, a fully flat 13.7km TTT, but itll be comfy like TTTs always are. Starts at 17:30 so its still a while to go.
No reason not to get hype early for what might be the best GT of the season. Some of the climbs in the parcours are just absolutely brutal and weve got 9 (!) mountaintop finishes.
Love biking, but can't imagine getting hype for watching it.
Sorry to ruin the comfy.

Vuelta is always better than the tour for entertainment. With this years starters and course it will be great. The GC contenders are probably better than at this years tdf which is very unusual.

>>77702582
the cost of road bikes are always the sum of its parts; you can basically buy the same bike for 1000 euro (with alu frame and low grade parts) or 6000 euro (carbon frame and high grade parts)
so you pick how much you want to spend yourself, but they're all worth their price

Screencap this.
Contador will either win it all of finish outside the top 10.
If Froome wins it will be because of the ITT. The only GC contender who I could imagine dropping him in the mountains while also doing well in the ITT is Contador.
Barguil to win atop the Angliru and take the mountains jersey.
The Vuelta is always the best. So glad its finally here.

Not sure youre meme-ing or not but I believe that is very accurate. We are used to seeing Froome's warmup cycle lead into the Tour. He has some decent races, close but not dominant victories and then is unbeatable at the Tour.
This season I believe he has shifted his normal cycle forward a couple months. In the past Froome has ridden the Vuelta but never vocally targeted it. Yet we have seen him speak recently about looking forward to the race, wanting to do well, he wants to win the red jersey and the double is enticing to him. Froome, whether people like it or not, loves to ride, loves to race. He will bury himself to take this race.
I suspect that Froome's goal for the season has always been the Vuelta, in fact using the Tour as a simple warmup race! When the competition at the Tour was shown to be nothing impressive, Froome knew that this was the year for the double. Porte crashing out worked out extremely well for Froome.
Who will beat him? Nibali? Couldn't even face Horner.
Chavez? Lopez? Kruisjwijk? Maybe if there wasn't a pancake flat ITT.
Historically speaking the only one who would have a chance here is Contador but he is far from a sure bet.
looks like rohan dennis will be the first leader
See you bitches tomorrow
>9 seconds ahead of Froome
Is this Tejay's year?
Not the greatest ride from Trek.
One of the last two episodes of the CyclingNews Podcast has an interview with Koen de Kort speaking about how inspiring a leader Contador is. One that riders truly want to give their all for.
Contrast this with say, Astana's and Aru at the Tour.
>>77703759
No more excuses
Does this count as an individual win for each of those BMC riders? Or is this win classified distinctly as a TTT win?
