>La notizia più importante dell'amichevole di ieri contro la Primavera non è tanto la doppietta di El Shaarawy, piuttosto il secondo tempo disputato da Alessandro Florenzi, tra l'altro autore di un bellissimo gol. La fine del calvario del ragazzo di Vitinia, dopo il doppio intervento al crociato appare vicina. Secondo Il Tempo, il numero 24 punta a essere disposizione per la terza giornata di campionato contro la Sampdoria, dopo la prima sosta per le nazionali.
Florenzi will be back for Samp (10 September)

>>
>>77682038
I like to think that you're just shitposting and aren't mentally retarded. Kalinić converts, he has great positioning and follows play better than most forwards out there. If people in charge of Milan do not want their goals conceived by the Holy Spirit, they need a forward like that. Or were you expecting a throwback Ronaldo to join?
>>
>>77681666
Juve will drop to EL places this year, they are under too much pressure already.
>>
>>77682075
I know you're biased since he's your countryman but Kalinic simply isn't a top striker. He's a Borriello-level striker and we can't go back to the top with players like him.

The fact is Fassone promised us a big striker on the level of Aubameyang/Belotti and doesn't seem to be delivering.

>Marco Borriello is almost certain to leave Cagliari after the striker was left out of their Serie A opener against Juventus.

Birmingham City are still interested in signing Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah, according to manager Harry Redknapp.

Sevilla are reportedly considering a swoop for Bologna’s Adam Masina as a solution to their left-back woes.

Beppe Marotta hints Juventus will not give up on Leonardo Spinazzola, reiterates Alex Sandro is staying and admits Ezequiel Garay is “a great player”.

Geoffrey Kondogbia will reportedly renew his contract with Inter before he joins Valencia on loan.

>Marcello Lippi says Milan “have built an important team” this summer, while Luciano Spalletti “is the best guarantee for Inter’s ambitions.”

Shevchenko's opinion on Milan's mercato decisions:

>Andriy Shevchenko admits he sees Milan’s transfer policy as “chaotic” but “I wish the club all the best”.

The Ukraine Coach is a Rossoneri legend after 175 goals in 322 games, and he helped them to win the Champions League in 2003, scoring the winning penalty in the shoot-out with Juventus.

“I don’t know what to expect,” Shevchenko told football.ua when asked about his former club.

“There are two different methods of achieving results, the planned way and the spontaneous way. In my opinion there are chaotic actions at Milan, there’s no definitive plan.

“[Coach Vincenzo] Montella had a certain vision and a plan, but with these time frames they had to move faster.

“Then there are so many new players. They sign a player for a certain position, then a month later someone comes in for the same position. These are spontaneous decisions!

“I can’t foresee what they will become. I wish the club all the best though, because I consider them my own club.”

Turin is kinda of a sad city. People aren't even cold, they simply give you a bad vibe, like you don't want to trust them, and they won't ever trust you. The city is actually really beautiful, and if you dig in enough you'll percieve a unearthly, grim, sinister and sometimes morbid feel which to me is really fascinating. Said that, Turin is way far for being comparable with the actual beauties of Italy (Rome, Florence, Naples). Like in other cities of our country, people are the real problem.

I didn't even mention Milan, man. I like it. And I don't think it is inhospitable. I love to think that Milan's people are in some way the english italians, a little bit distant and cold, but not in a greedy sense. I couldn't live there because everything run faster than normal, but these are only my two cents.

Following further meetings today, Milan are believed to be close to signing Nikola Kalinic on loan with obligation to buy.

>Fiorentina have released their squad numbers for this season, with Nikola Kalinic losing the number 9 shirt.

>“Many sides have strengthened, while Juventus – even if just for the law of averages – are no longer undoubted favourites. They have weakened at the back and I can’t understand why they keep insisting on Keita Balde Diao when that money should be invested in a defender.

>“In fact, Milan have improved to such a degree that I feel it’s fair to say they have the strongest defence in Serie A now. Inter won’t play in Europe, so having the chance to prepare for one match per week is an enormous advantage for a strategist like Luciano Spalletti.

>“Napoli were already very strong and I believe Champions League qualification will let them buy someone else on the market.

>“Basically, it’s very balanced and everyone has a good chance. Whoever sets themselves limits this season is making a mistake.

>“As for the outsiders, I bet on Torino, as they already had a good framework and brought in some good summer buys.”

>“Someone like Pipita will always score a lot of goals. We’re talking about a great centre-forward, one of the four best in the world along with Luis Suarez, Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema. It’s not like he was a one-off, he has been scoring 25-30-35 goals per season for a while.

>“Pipita has Paulo Dybala too and it can be his definitive year to step up a level. I don’t think even he realises how good he is. If Dybala really steps up, he can be a contender for the Ballon d’Or with Neymar and Kylian Mbappé over the next few years.

>“It’s a three-way fight for the Capocannoniere crown this season between Mauro Icardi, Higuain and Edin Dzeko. I hope that Andrea Belotti gets in there too, as he is the best Italian striker. I also wish Giampaolo Pazzini gets 15 goals, so he can save Verona.

>“I haven’t forgotten Dries Mertens, I simply believe he’ll divide up the Napoli goals with Jose Callejon and Lorenzo Insigne.”

>Toni was asked to create his ideal Number 9.

>“I’d include Belotti’s grit, Icardi’s movement in the box, the technique of Higuain and the power of Dzeko. For someone like that, you’d pay even more than the €222m for Neymar.

Who are the most promising italian defenders? Will they be on the same level as Maldini/Baresi or Nesta/Cannavaro?
>>
>>77701562

Romagnoli and Rugani above all

And they won't ever be at the same level of the GOATs.

Think only that Maldini started his career when he was 16yo, and became a starting line FB in 3 years.

In 2006, almost same age, Bonucci was in Serie C. Meanwhile, Maldini in his latest 30s was raising up to the sky his 5th UCL.

And still now Romagnoli and Rugani are not on the same level of Bonucci, maybe they will reach him.

Baresi, Maldini, Nesta, Cannavaro. You are talking about the GOATs, the real GOATs.
>>
>>77701688
How about Caldara? Or is it too early to say
>>
>>77701688
>And still now Romagnoli and Rugani are not on the same level of Bonucci, maybe they will reach him
Italy tends to kill talent, I wouldn't be so sure either of these make it
>>
>>77701753
>Italy tends to kill talent
that's a bit harsh, i'd say for a top league youths find a fair bit of space in most teams, exception being Roma (who's hopefully going to change course with Monchi and Di Francesco) and Inter (which is only going to get worse with Spalletti at the helm)
>>
>>77701753
Romagnoli is doing perfectly fine. Just too much injuries.
>>
>>77701717
I'd say there is more hope for Caldara than for Rugani.
>>
>>77701717
>>77701753

It is not too early to say, I just forgot him. Thing is that those players show a great understanding of the defensive dynamics, so they are quite reliable. This is the common trait they have with the old school defenders. But the guys that made history had a huge value for what concerns mental aspect of the game. Bonucci worked a lot on his inner mental game so he filled up a little bit of the gape. If we talk about the physical aspect of the game, still they can't reach Maldini and Cannavaro. Technically, they don't compare in any way to Baresi and Nesta.

I didn't spot any massive quality in them. But they know how to read the game, and this is enough for te current level of defenders in nowadays soccer.
>>
>>77701562
>Will they be on the same level as Maldini/Baresi or Nesta/Cannavaro?
that's quite the standard tbqh
i don't expect any defender to be as good as them to appear anytime soon, let alone an italian one
Romagnoli/Caldara/Rugani isnt a bad bunch tho
>>
>>77701688
I think I just got used to Italy having goats in defence. Even in the 80s there were Scirea/Maldini Sr and Gentile (that cunt that should have been sent away in 82).

I think that the quality of the players, except for Ronaldo and Messi, is lower nowadays. But perhaps it's only nostalgia.

>>
>>77701952
One of the biggest problems is big clubs hoarding talent and fucking up the development of these players. Players will develop better if they play for Sassuolo than sit on the bench at Roma or Inter. For example, if Pellegrini stayed in Rome, he'd be another wasted talent playing for a Cagliari tier team by 2020

Other than that, the expectations put on some of these players makes them crack. Hyping up 18yos as new Maldini, new Totti, new Inter legend Rodrigo Palacio, etc after a game or two isn't healthy
>>
>>77701688
I'd say Caldara and Romagnoli are a level above Rugani
