Is NFL the McDonald's of sports?
>Super easy to get into, no prior knowledge of handegg needed
>choose your franchise because you like their color/gimmick/animal/whatever
>commercials
>only need to know a handful of players, most are QB
>sport itself is heroball
>little tactics to understand: NFL is only hero QB passing to a black dude
>commercials
>fat black dudes in spandex
>>77633449
fuck off loser, but yeah nfl sucks cock
>>77633535
also:
>Both highly enjoyed by fat people
>>77633535
Don't forget the commissioner being the ring master for a media circus.
But really, there's a lot to football. To understand. To question. To love. To hate.
Football is life.

Jus sleepy
>>77633594
Hum hum yeah, probably. But too bad a full NFL season is only 176 minutes long (11 minutes × 16 games)
>>77633624
Yes the APM as it were in football is low, and Commercial Ball is a very earned name, but the action that takes place is gripping.
>>77633624
>Commercialball
>>77633624
Also the shots of players and coaches adds a lot

>"But the action!"
>Not watching personnel changes
>Not looking at who looks gassed
>Not thinking about strengths/weaknesses of X's and O's
>Not reading stats
>Not checking offensive formation at the line
>Not checking defensive package at the line
>Not asking if there's a nickel
>Not noting how close the DT's are
>Not watching motion
>Not noting if the pass catching or blocking TE is in
>Not checking the WR group
>Not seeing if CBs are in Cover 1, 2, 3 or 4
>Not weighing all this against field position, down and yards to gain
>Not practically holding your breath and tense before every goddamn snap
>Just cracking another shitty watered down beer and bitching on Ugandan Cabbage Farmer Sexual Fantasy board
If football really is just the 11 minutes to you, stop watching and just drink til you pass out every Sunday or inflict even more brain damage on yourself and watch soccer.
So decide for me which team should I root for ?
Soon.
>>77633774
Well I'll just continue to not drink alcohol and enjoy the game, so you'll have to excuse us plebians for not being versed in every offensive and defensive scheme with expert knowledge.
And of course I wait with baited breath to see what happens each snap, it's exciting to see the chaos unfold. To see a defense got swindled, or an offensive scheme shut down.
Also I'll continue to occasionally enjoy soccer.

Turnovers happen too rapidly in hockey/soccer/basketball for it to work. But in football it makes sense
Predicting Detroit will win the owl.
Foreigners are right about the absurd amount of commercials, Most Americans don't like them aside from Super Bowl casuals. But the "11 minutes of action" burn doesn't make any sense.
There's a lot of tension and anticipation presnap. "What play will they run? Will they convert? Oh, shit. Shotgun formation with an empty backfield on 2 and 6. What the fuck are they doing here?"
Tension is often more compelling than "ball in play" action. I enjoy hockey somewhat, which makes divegrass look sluggish and slow (and has more ball in play action than soccer), but the "constant action" gets redundant and boring more often than not.
