The thing is, Barca's flaws don't lie solely with their attack. When you think about it, they have bloody Suarez and Messi in one squad. They're pretty well off. True, they now need to adapt without Nerman and someone like Coutinho would help, but at the same time their defence would still be pretty shit and I'm not sure any of the goals scored by Real today for example would have been avoided.
The entire team looked a bit shit today, perhaps even uncoordinated. It was a Mickey mouse Cup, sure, but up until the last 15 minutes there was no real drive, chances squandered and the only goal came from a dive.

Their CBs - Pique and Umtiti - are fine for their system. The problem is the dysfunctional midfield and mediocre fullbacks who aren't performing. Semedo and Alba are decent but not ideal. Iniesta is too old to keep playing; Rakitic has peaked and is past his 2015 form; Busquets seems to have also peaked hard and is either on or off and there's no competent winger/forward out there in the market right now unless Barcelona is prepared to overpay big time. They need a top class forward, three world class midfielders, and a new left back. La Masia players like Sergi Robert o, Denis Suarez, and Carles Alena can be great depth options but the deadweight like Alcacer, Turan, Vidal, Gomes, Digne Deulofeu and incoming signing Paulinho must be told to fuck off and sold off as soon as possible.

They already bought fucking Paulinho (more deadweight) for midfield and I doubt they plan on buying another midfielder. Barca are fucked, at least for this season.
