With the drafts coming up, what is your favorite draft pick position?

I really want to be in the first 4 picks. But with 10 team ppr and a snake draft, is that really the best option?
>>
>>77628245
I'm in a non-PPR keeper league. All the elite backs are taken. Should I pick Fournette or trade the pick?
>>
>>77628343
I wouldn't. Fournette is currently dealing with a foot injury.
>>
>>77628382
Short term no. But long term, he seems like a solid pick
>>
idk. With how unpredictable the "Tier 1" RBs are these days I almost prefer later in a snake draft. Get a Gronk + Top WR/RB or two studly WRs/RBs
>>
Depends on the year and who I'm high on, but I generally have my eye on 4 or 5 guys so I like to be pick #6.
That way I'm happy that I "lucked out" that one of them fell to me, or all of them get taken and I can blame me eventual shitty team and season on the fact that I don't have one of the guys I wanted

next level thinking
>>
Is Zeke in the 5th good value?
>>
>>77629678
Extremely
>>
>>77629707
Thats what I was thinking. I was drafting with a bunch of eagles homers but I still couldn't believe he fell that far, suspension or not
>>
>>77629728
If it was all Eagle homers, then I'm not even a little surprised.

>my draft started during the last hour of my shift at a convenience store
>couldn't log in and I was first up
>I get auto-drafted David Johnson
Not a bad feel desu
>>
>>77631358
I got DJ at one as well. I've been debating all week whether to take him or Bell but I feel like DJ was the safer pick. Too much risk involved with Bell
>>
Zeke in the 5th might be a stretch. Getting ten of 16 weeks is not good for the fifth round, coupled with the fact that he might not be superman upon returning. He might only be effective at last year's levels for the final 8 games. that's only 6 games for fantasy football and you might be out of the playoff picture by then.
>>
Can't go wrong with Le'Veon Bell. He literally set the all-time record for yards from scrimmage per game last year for a RB and has the same offensive line in front of him.
>>
>>77631633
I'm a Cardinals homer so I was super greatful for the auto-pick blessing me. I also took our D to go along with KC's.

And yeah, Bell would be high risk, high reward, but I think I'd take him over Zeke desu
>>
Thinking about it, can you go wrong with a AFCW Defense? Or even AFCN (save for the Bengals unless you want penalties everywhere) for that matter?
>>
>>77631947
Just waiver whoever is playing SF for the given week

johnson
bell
shady (arguably #1 now that there's no air attack)
zeke

How'd my mock turn out? 10 team ppr, drafting from the 2 spot.

>>77628245
Favorite has to be early-middle (4,5 in 10-man) or late (8, 9 in 10-man). In my two money leagues I drew a 2 and a 4. Draft for one of them is tomorrow wish me luck /ffg/uys

>>77628343
When you say "all" are you including Shady, Murray, and Freeman too? I'd take all three of those over Fournette.

>>77628449
I almost always avoid Gronk in drafts unless he falls to the late 3rd or 4th at all.

>>77628496
I got AP with the 8th pick (ADP was like 1.5) in 2015 with that thinking, thanks retard league.

>>77629678
yes fucks yes. He's a good value in the 3rd at this point. Just be aware if his suspension's appeal stretches into the season you could look at losing multiple games in the middle or the end of the season instead of the start. Something to keep in mind.

>>77631633
I like DJ ever so slightly more than Bell but its pretty much a toss up.

>>77631947
I really like Chargers D/ST this year. Improved secondary and a good pass rush.

>>77632187
Zeke drops out of that list fampai, hes gone 6* games

>>77633132
Stay the fuck away from Hopkins, let some other retard deal with him. Cooper is a breakout candidate but I don't like his ADP; too high. But of the players you listed, go with him.
>>
anyone taking a flyer on mixon?
>>
>>77633690
Not at his current ADP, no. He's got the talent but at this point hes going in the 3rd and, for now, in a timeshare with Hill and Bernard.

I feel that he should take over being the starter when the Bungles realize Hill is a turd sandwich, but like I said he's going too high at this point.

Maybe you'll get lucky and talk a normie into trading him once he puts up goose eggs the first few weeks.

First time ever trying my hand at fantasy football. We had our draft last night, I was drafting from the 7th in an 8-man league. How dumb am I? I plan on cutting my kicker for someone else ASAP.
>>
>>77634245
It's hard to say for an 8 man. Your rounds 5-9 are kinda weird. But you somehow got julio with a 7th pick so those picks are solid. At what point did Zeke get picked?
>>
>>77634328
Zeke got picked in the second round. We're all Cowboys homers and the guy that grabbed him drafted half his team from the Boys because it's "our year." Half the group were new to FF and the other half had some experience but made rookie mistakes according to the advice I read (drafting QBs and TEs too early, avoiding injuries I thought weren't serious, etc) which through off some of my original picks, so I tried to draft up and get as much offensive power as I could before they had the chance to make up for it. That's how I ended up with the picks I got mid-draft.

What is your guys' opinion of your league drafting before the preseason, or way earlier in the summer, or just specifically before the 3rd preseason game at all? I personally don't see the benefit from the possible injury risk. >mfw lots of players already going down

What are some ways to make playing an 8man league more interesting? My group of high school guys (been playing together for a decade) lost two people this last year (one moved to SE asia and the other doesn't talk to us anymore), and we've never had this few people.

Should we look at maybe adding a superflex, or just rolling with 2QB? Feels like things are just going to be weird with so many actually decent players going undrafted.

Just put together an ideal team for my 14 team auction league, how does it look? Values based on these https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/auction-values/calculator.php

Marcus Mariota $10
Todd Gurley $35
Spencer Ware $22
Mike Evans $51
Deandre Hopkins $31
Tevin Coleman $17
Martellus Bennett $8
Defense $1
Kicker $1

Jordan Matthews $11
Kevin White $2
James White $5
Carson Wentz $2
Julius Thomas $1
Defense 2 $1

Comes out to $198 total
>>
>>77637099
never ever take a patriots running back. they use like 3 a game
>>
>>77637099
14 teams and standard scoring? You should be drafting both Johnson and Bell based on these values.

I took FantasyPros expert consensus projections and created auction values based on actual math rather than whatever the fuck they're doing. Johnson should be $105 and Bell $94. I know these numbers seem absurd but they're both incredibly safe and leagues better than all the other RBs, especially replacement level RBs.

Sorry obviously $200 budget. I have some trepidations about Gurley but I definitely feel Hopkins is worth it just off of pure volume assuming he stays healthy. Maybe jump up to the Ajayi-Gordon tier and drop Evans for Michael Thomas or maybe Green if I get lucky?

>>
>>77638436
What is a random snake; is it just where the initial draft order is selected at random?

Having played ff for years I've just never enjoyed auction drafting as much. Also when researching draft strategies its much, much easier to find resources for snake drafts rather than auction.
>>
>>77638459
"In standard leagues, the draft order is randomly determined before the live draft begins. (In custom leagues, the league manager has the option of manually adjusting the draft order.) The first pick of the draft will be "on the clock" within three minutes of the scheduled draft time, so all team owners should make sure they are ready to go before the scheduled start of the draft.

Owners participate in each round of the draft by taking turns selecting players in a snake draft format (i.e., 1-10, 10-1, 1-10, etc.). Each team drafts one player per round until all roster slots are full (including bench)."
>>
>>77638485
I know what a snake draft is. I've never heard of it referred to as a "random snake," as if that was a separate term.

Travis Kelce: 22 dollars in a 200 dollar budget PPR league. Projected value for him is 28 bucks

Not true, Murray and Freeman will both be equally valued to the top 4 RB, especially if you still include Zeke in that list playing half a season. Get a top ten ten WR and a top ten RB or two of each and you're golden, so as long as you pick five or lower, you should be able to build an A plus team.

1st draft in the books. 10 team, rules a bit different: 0.2 ppr, 0.1 per rushing attempt. Drafting from the 2. I feel like I should have taken one more WR but the value wasn't there. I'm thinking of trading a bench RB for some WR.

>>
>>77643877

>>
>>77643883
Why is it so abominable? We had more people last season, but this year for whatever reason, we could barely scrape together 4 so we wanted to see what happens. Why are smaller leagues bad? This is only my second year doing this.
>>
>>77643809
Trade Cook, yeah you're WR is weak compared to your RB's and I don't like the Redskin offense, everything else solid
>>
>>77642099
Yeah, I'm really pleased with that. No one in my league can compare in that regard.

Only thing I'm worried about is the kicker, but I don't even know if it's that big a deal. After the top 5 or so opinions seem to be all over the place. Thinking about cutting Hauschka for Lutz, Janikowski, or Santos.

7th pick. did i fuck up?
>>
>>77643896
It's just so boring, you get tons of options for great RB's and WR's there's barely a point, you're guaranteed nearly every week high amounts of points, all you're 4 competing against is who's players have the craziest games that week instead of who picked the best choices that week.
>>
>>77643941
it was also in an 8 man .
>>
>>77643882
I agree with this guy. Be aware the Broncos' D will be overdrafted though.

>>77643896
Smaller leagues are thought to be easier, but that can be a misconception. While in larger leagues it is a challenge to find deep sleepers, they can often be more luck than skill. On the other hand smaller teams can be harder to manage because you essentially have a super team going against another super team.

>>77643897
Why Cook and not anyone else? Not that I'm married to having Cook, just curious.

>>77643903
Just get a top-10 offense kicker except the Steeler's kicker.

>>77643941
I'm not in love with your WRs and I think Matt Ryan will severely regress this season but you should get in 3rd or 4th place at worst. What round did you get Zeke in?
>>
>>77643954
Hyde's injury prone but good for scoring outside that, Abdullah is solid, Minn's O line is garbage and Cook isn't fantastic so he's your weakest RB on your bench.
>>
>>77643963

>>77643954
Again, I agree that the 'finese' is gone from larger leagues where talent is more widely dispersed, but again, this was our only choice to do fantasy. And again, super team versus super team is fun to me.

This is basically like a very long game of Madden.

I might try to join an online league or something next year, but I like doing it in a group of people I know personally, because the bantz are that much better.

Is it ever worth drafting Gronk in the first? He's so much better than other TEs to the point of having another #1 WR on your lineup, but he's always either injured or dealing with a nagging injury.

Also, what TEs would you consider to be worth drafting rather than streaming? I can only think of Reed, Kelce, Walker, and Eifert as consistent enough, but they are often out due to injury as well.

Stream or try drafting one of those guys in the middle rounds?

I always get 2 QB and 2 DST.

For QB it's a leverage thing, if you can swing and hit the #2 QB pick out of the park, it's a lot of leverage later in the season after your bye week is over.

For D/ST, I ALWAYS draft, carry 2 defenses. It's an absolute no brainer. If you have two good defenses, you can give one of them the week off when they're playing a really good offensive team, or play the one facing a shitty team.

Barring injuries, I'm really digging this team. Rest of the bench is Ebron, decker, McFadden, Stewart, Cardinals D and Curtis Samuels (random yes I know but think he can replace Ginn's role as the deep option and he was the last pick of the draft so it's not like I had a lot of options)

Rbs are great but youre week at tight end. Jordan Reed will be a bust this year. His foot fracture is more serious than expected and as someone who recovered from a double fracture of his foot, let me tell you that shit limits your mobility immensely. You re not the same afterwards.

I got 3rd pick in .5ppr with my 2 keepers being:

1. Jordy
2. next best RB Demarco Murray/Todd Gurley
3. surprise pick Michael Thomas
>>

Gurley will have a bounce back and will be a serviceable RB2 for sure. He has the volume. As for how much of a benefit Watkins is hinges on Goff's improvement because he was hot garbage last season.

I like Gurley as an RB2
>>

>>
>>77660456
I was/am pondering that. But I have No WR's I can keep that are worth a 2nd round pick. And all the top level WR's are kept. >>
>>77660543
Nah that's totally fair. I figured you were at the top of the draft and the depth of RB plunges dramatically after the 2nd/3rd round turn, where I'm assuming you took him at. I would also take Gurley over DT.

yeah since if hes healthy and lives all season hes great, cook is the starter but even that changes Minnesota likes running a few backs at same time, plus they have a garbage O line. I'd trade a good WR plus Murray or something for a decent RB.
>>
>>77668127
Fair enough. I can pick up woodhead as a keeper off free agency, just meh not too optimistic about Allen. Any good rookies this year at rb? Probably picking around 6th. Also trying to trade for zeke. Not sure what to trade for him. See if a first round pick is good enough.

Guys, Samaje Perine is NOT going to be a featured back in Washington. Habe you seen their backfield the last 5 years? Washington running back position is a flaming carousel of shit under Jon Gruden. They can stick with anyone

Jamaal Williams is the rookie sleeper to target. He has much higher upside at the position than that other dude
>>
>>77681073
I'm second pick in a 14 man league I'm usually gettin Bell then when it comes back around I usually pick between Brandon Cooks and Deandre Hopkins I doubt it will end up like that but then round 3 I snag a top 3 qb cuz if my wrs do end up slacking a little at least I'll have a top qb and rb
>>
>>77681108
Brandin Cooks and Hopkins have fallen to me in several mocks I've done and I would definitely take Hopkins and bank on a rebound season but like you said I doubt it's gonna shake down that way.

Cooks is too risky for me as a WR1. Too many mouths to feed in NE. I think he will be great in real life but I think he is going to be a rather inconsistent fantasy starter

Would anybody be interested in doing a league that drafts on Tuesday the 5th? Every league I've seen so far in this thread (that doesn't have ridiculous scoring rules) drafts on Sunday the 3rd.

Also, would you guys prefer a 16 team or 12 team league? It would be 0.5 PPR with 2 FLEX spots and through E!SPN.
>>
Work league is drafting this weekend and I want to win because its $500 and 5 days off work and was free to join

2nd Pick - 12 players - Non-PPR w/ +5 per 100yds rushing/receiving & 350yds passing (+5 for every 100 after)

I am thinking David Johnson or Jordan Howard RD1.
For RD2 I think I should be able to get my hands on Brandin Cooks, or Alshon Jeffery (Very iffy about him though)

Also I think I might grab Kapernick in a garbage time round
>>
>>77685274

If you're picking at 2, just take David Johnson or Leveon Bell - whichever doesn't go at 1. Do NOT go Jordan Howard #2 overall.

Round 2 I would not target Cooks as your WR1, too many mouths in NE, very streaky. I'd target someone like Dez Bryant who falls around that late 2nd round range or Deandre hopkins, Doug Baldwin if you want a WR. If you want to double up on RB early you can swing back and get Lamar Miller or Fournette too.

Don't draft Kaepernick. If you want to do a QB flier pick take someone who will actually be on the field at some point. Get DeShone Kizer from the browns or some shit
>>
>>77685274
Do not do anything you just said.

Hey gays, looking for trade advice instead of draft advice.

I drafted the following team in a 12 man.

QBs- Wilson, Luck
RBs- Bell, Cook, Montgomery, Gillselee, Henry
WRs- Dez, Cooks, Pryor, Corey Davis, Mohammad Sanu
TE- Eifert
K- Prater
D- Denver

Its a standard yahoo cash league, so three wrs and no flex.

Im looking for a WR with higher upside than Davis, who I might be able to swap for one of my RBs. The guy who has Demarco Murray has shit WRs, so I cant get him to give me shit I want for Henry.

Any good bench WRs you guys like?
>>
>>77687172
Keenan Allen has progressively got worse over the past 3 yrs, Landry won't even end up being Cutlets first target.

In a PPR league your RB1 can barely get yards on the shit offense.

That's a start give me a minute to tear apart your bench.
>>
>>77687722
Anyone pick up Marshall? He's being super under valued.
>>
>>77688317

Yeah, Marshalls gone.

Anyone probably worth a shit ill have to trade for, the top available WRs in free agency are Taylor Gabriel and Marvin Jones, and I would rather have Sanu over them.
>>
>>77688447
Jones could have a decent year, that's a tough one.

You could pick up the rookie Kupp, I've got a sneaky feeling he's going to be big on that team.

HI, I'm a rookie in fantasy, just be honest and rate my team.

Suggestions accepted
>>
>>77689234
Your QB and WRs are your strengths. Could've picked some better backup WRs but your starters are good. Your RBs are skeptical; Lynch is a year out of football and is in a pass happy offense, Ware could share time in the backfield but at least the Chiefs run the ball. No idea how Bennett will do in the Packers system, you might be better off using Gates to start the season and see how Bennett works in GB. You picked an upper-tier defense so good job, lol kickers.

Rodgers should win you some games on his own, so he'll make up for your less than stellar RBs. Maybe package a trade with one of your TEs for a RB that isn't such an unknown.
>>
>>77689234

Running back is the most important position, and youre relying on a guy whose over 30 who was retired for a year, and a guy who could be replaced at any second.

Your wide receivers are good and well balanced. In the future, don't pick top QB's. The point differential between an elite quarterback and a good quarterback is way smaller than between an elite running back and a good running back.

I would say to look around the league for someone with a Kirk Cousins or Cam Newton, and offer a trade a QB swap for one of their better running backs.
>>
>>77689309

Offer a QB swap, and try to get a better RB in the deal*

Fucking phone posting.

Like for example

Rodgers and Lynch for Kirk and Demarco Murray, or Cam and Devonte Freeman

Most people wouldn't be stupid enough to take that deal, but if your league is fellow newbies, you might get one who would have a boner over Rodgers.
>>
>>77689294
>>77689309

Thanks for the advice.

This is a yahoo standard 10 player league. I chose 10th on the draft. All elite RBs were taken plus Antonio Brown, so I picked Rodgers and Cooper. 3rd and 4th rounds: Ware and Lynch. (Same bye week, my mistake) 5th and 6th: Tate and Kansas city. 7th and 8th: Benjamin and Bennett.

Am I doing it OK with pick order?

Suggestions accepted, thanks
>>
>>77689309
>In the future, don't pick top QB's. The point differential between an elite quarterback and a good quarterback is way smaller than between an elite running back and a good running back.

Tired of this shitty overrated advice. At the same spot you can normally get Rodgers, you're basically gambling on RBs anyway, so it's not a bad pick.

I've won so many leagues taking Rodgers instead of one of the non-elite or riskier RBs.
>>
>>77689294
>>77689309
>>77689366

Noted. Trade QB for an elite RB.

The guy who picked Elliot got Luck and Alex Smith as QBs.

Hope for a Luck's bad beginning of the season, and offer him Carr for Elliot
>>
>>77689439
Those are not good spots to choose Rodgers or Ware, but you're a newbie so it's understandable.

In fantasy, you draft for value and not for need (at first) because you can always use those valuable assets as trade bait. Eventually you will have to take a QB or a TE, but as >>77689309 said the difference between an elite QB and an average one in terms of fantasy points can be marginal at best. That said, you'll be getting consistent 20+ points from Rodgers as the Packers offense revolves around him so I find drafting him in the 3rd/4th is fine this year. But using your 1st round pick is a massive stretch.

Take skill positions first, typically elite to great RBs or elite WRs. Fill up your RB and WR spots first based on value of what's around in that current round. QBs can go in the 6th or 7th, same with TEs (unless they are bonafide elite at their position, like top 3. They can go as high as 3rd/4th round then). Defense can be taken in a late round, 13-15 in 10-man standards. Draft a kicker in the last round.
>>
>>77689502
I agree with this anon. While it is traditionally solid advice to wait on a QB; if you can get a Aaron Rodgers in the 5th round, Brady in the 5th or 6th, or Brees in the 6th or 7th then I'd say go for it. If you don't get those then wait until you have at least 60% of your starting roster (besides QB) drafted before getting your QB. Luck is a terrific value right now in the 7th or 8th if you believe he will bounce back from his injury. Be aware his injury was largely caused by his shiity O-line, and that O-line has not gotten better this year.

>>77689534 >>77689439
QBs are undervalued in 1 QB leagues (read: most leagues). You will have a hard time getting a tier 1 or 2 RB or WR for a tier 1 QB unless you offer a tier 1 or 2 RB or WR yourself.

>>77688837
He's going to be a solid QB1 this year. His running game is solid and has better WRs. Plus he is mobile and running yards are very valuable for a QB. I believe he will finish in the top 8 at QB.

>>77686990
6/10. I don't like Gurley as your RB1 and a rookie as your RB2. I love AJ Green this year and I believe Keenan Allen will bounce back bigtime so you could be saved on those.

Also too many Chorgers. I didn't even know they still had fans after Spanos fucked the team.
>>
>>77689502

I dont't disagree that getting Rodgers fourth round or later is fantastic, only reason I pointed it out was based on the rest of his team, he clearly took him in the 1st or 2nd.
>>
>>77689551

Thanks!
>>
>>77689534

Elliot is a top 3 RB, by the time Luck would have shit the bed, Elliot will be back and untradable. He's basically untradeable even now.

Youd be better to start looking into Murray, Freeman, Ajayi, or maybe Melvin Gordon now.
>>
>>77689631

My draft order was: (I picked 10th, so I got 2 picks in a row)

1st and 2nd Rodgers and Cooper
3rd and 4th: Ware and Lynch
5th and 6th: Tate and Kansas City
7th and 8th: Benjamin and Bennett
>>
>>77689681
Until we hear the final decision of the suspension I am not touching Zeke desu. He could have the 6 games delayed into the season, you could lose him for the playoffs. Alternatively you could have the suspension delayed into next season like Brady a couple of years ago. Zeke would need to fall to the 7th or higher desu.

>>77689687
RIP for a rookie drafting at the turn like that. I know that we've told you that your draft didn't quite turn out but that doesn't mean your season is over. I recomend you read up on how to properly play the waiver wire. Keep an eye on other teams' needs. You won't get a tier 1 rb for Rodgers but you could get a RB like DeMarco Murray if you throw in a low-tier RB yourself. Then pick up a QB off of waivers. QB is deep af this year.

You drafted with dummies, anon.

Pick up (in no order): D Martin, J Stewart, T Rawls, D McFadden. Don't get all of these, target Martin and McFadden for now. Keep in mind Stewart is literally a starting RB right now so he will get volume off the bat. In fantasy volume is king.

Martin is suspended 3 games but has looked terrific in the preseason.

McFadden will be at least a low end RB1/high RB2 while Zeke is out.

Jaquizz Rodgers will be the starter in TB while Martin is suspended and he was a RB2 last season.

Rawls has talent but is in a timeshare with Eddy Lacy. Avoid this for now if you can.

If you're PPR, Theo Riddick isn't a bad choice either.
>>
>>77689772

Evans.

I'm a Packersfag, but Jordy is on the wrong side of 30 and Davante could take over as the man as any moment, Evans is getting better.
>>

Evans but its such a toss-up. I like that Evans isn't in his 30's with a blown knee history.

Why would you avoid Dak? It's not like the Dallas running game is going to suffer. Sure Zeke is a freak but McFadden and Morris are above average backups that will still move the ball and get Dak in scoring situations. You're acting like it was all Zeke and not that mammoth O-line.

Above average RBs don't demand the same attention and defensive game planning that elite RBs do. Therefore more time can go into stopping their next weapon, Dak. Additionally I don't mean to say to avoid Dak entirely. I mean that at his current ADP he is not a good value because of the risk. As Dak falls in drafts, his value rises. I'd take him about the same time as I'd take an Andy Dalton and ahead of Phillip Rivers.

Jordy is consistent barring injury and has aaron rodgers. It was an easy choice for me.

Also,

Since the old 16 team Mega Spee league has disappeared I've created a new league to replace it.

Scoring is basically the same as last time. 0.5 PPR, standard scoring for rushing, receiving, etc. 10 starters: QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 FLEX, 1 D/ST, 1 K. 6 bench spots and 2 IR bonus spots as well. Teams will also get to keep 2 players after the season.

4 divisions, 4 teams per division, 4 wild cards. Playoffs are Weeks 14-16, one week each. Division winners get the top 4 seeds and the home team receives the tiebreaker.

Email me for an invite. My throwaway email is [email protected] (I made it when I was 13, so fuck off). Snake Draft is 8:00 Eastern on Tuesday, September 5th.

If Rodgers is available in the 3rd round, and you don't take him, you are a total dumbass. If some jackoff wants to laugh at me because I didn't maximize some invisible trade value by instead gambling on a shitter like DeAndre Hopkins for the billionth time, I literally don't care because I don't plan to trade Rodgers anyway. He is 90% guaranteed to be elite at his position every year.

There are roughly only 20 combined RBs and WRs that offer the same or better consistency and upside at their positions that Rodgers does at his. After that it's a total crapshoot, and your more likely to find an elite WR/RB playing the waiver wire hard than pretending like you're an expert at identifying sleepers.
>>
>>77704755
I got DeMarco Murray in the 3rd desu I'd prefer him in the 3rd than Aaron Rodgers.

Like I said, I don't take QBs before the 5th because you leave too many skill players on the table otherwise.
>>
>>77704755
Allow me to elaborate as well, >>77643809 is one of my teams. You'll see I went with Cousins as my QB. I got him with my 4th to last pick (12th round), so essentially free. Rodgers has been going anywhere from the 2nd to the 4th round this year, in my league he went 2-03.

Looking at last year's numbers, Rodgers scored 380 fantasy points whereas Cousins scored 300. Now obviously 380 > 300 but break it down further. Rodgers averaged 23.75 points a game while Cousins averaged 18.75, a difference of 5 points per game. That isn't a huge amount. Is gaining 5 extra points a game worth sinking your draft capital in a QB very early? From my experience I don't think so.

Kicker: Prater

notable bench players:

>>
>>77709262
I don't like your WR's outside Brown and with a handful of meh RB's, I don't see the team going far, you have a lot of stability just kinda lacking score makers, hopefully Brown carries you.

>>77708039
Not bad really, you're set at QB and decent RB, you could do well
>>
>>77709262

Not too bad. Do you have a second TE though? If someone like Austin Hooper or Julius Thomas is available on the waiver wore you should get one of them ASAP.
>>
>>77709441
Yeah it was my first time drafting with 12 teams, ive only done 10 in the past. So i think I was probably picking too conservatively.

>>77709455
I usually don't have a bench TE but I'll take a look. Pretty sure Thomas is available.
>>
>>77709465
I mean if you make 1 or 2 trades that team could be beast, if Seahawks have a consistent offense this year, unlikely but if, then Doug with AB is a great combo to work with, with your tons of RB's you could possibly get 1 better one for 2 or grab a great WR, so you did alright.
>>
>>77709507
>Seahawks

I have Doug Martin, not Doug Baldwin

but anyway, I think I can definitely trade Kelley for more than he's worth because there are a few Redskins homers in the league
>>
>>77709262
I really like it desu. Crowell isn't a sleeper but I think he will finish in the top 8 this year. Miller is a terrific RB2 and Crabtree is like the Miller of WRs. Solid team, 8.5/10 see if you can parlay some of your peices into another high level WR

Look at the last 3 years

>Rodgers >> Brees >>> Wilson > Brady > Nobody else is fucking close

Rodgers is elite, nowhere near the expected age of decline, and was worth 40 points more than Matt Ryan who had an MVP season, and that was with Rodgers sucking for the first half of the year.

Rodgers, Brady, and Brees are all optimally 2nd round value that get drafted later because of people have been thoroughly convinced that QBs aren't worth what they are actually worth.

Water you talking about, AJ Green is a top 5 WR this year and has been a top 10 for the past 4 years except last year when he was hurt. Keep in mind he was - the - WR1 before he got hurt last year. Seeing him go at the end of the 1st/early 2nd is too low imo.

>>77712496
Need for info senpai. League size, ppr, etc.

>>77712192
I'm afraid of Howard to be this year's Gurley. McCaffrey looks like the real deal so far, plus he looked amazing at Stanford. He could be the best rookie RB this year.

>>77712154
It depends on your roster. Turbin is more likely to play but Conner would step into at least RB2 territory if Bell goes down.

I keep Turbin for now but keep a close eye on Turbin, Conner, and Gore through the preseason.

>>77711377
I'm not arguing that he isn't elite. I'm just saying that the value you pay for him isn't worth losing out on a valuable RB2 you'd get in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. RB quality falls off of a cliff quickly. Not only is QB super deep this year, you only start 1.

>>77711030

I'm in a 10 man snake draft. I have the 5th, and 15th picks. What strategy should I go? The last couple of years I have drafted RB heavy in the early rounds. Who should I take at 5/15? What RBs can I target in the later rounds if I go WR/WR first 2 picks? Fantasy football is so stressful when there are punishments involved.
>>
Dez Bryant shit on Vontae Davis last night. Him and Dak have developed some great chemistry together.

I dont give a fuck about the Dez vs elite CBs stat, if Dez is there late 2nd round, I'm grabbing him. That move he pulled last night on the TD pass is pretty much unguardable if the QB and him are on the same page.
>>
>>77718844
>Who should I take at 5/15
As always, take the best player still on the board. At 5, you probably have LeSean McCoy still on the board. At 15, Jordan Howard might still be up. You could even reach for Fournette at 15.
>>
>>77719032
Right now wouldn't Julio or Beckham Jr. be the better choice at 5? They have the higher ADP
>>
>>77718695
>>77718105
Whoa, hold on there. Cook's stock is sky high right now, and Fournette's is kind of low. I wouldn't make that trade unless you can get Fournette + another player.

I don't see that trade as really an upgrade anyway. Ask him to sweeten the deal, or just stick with Cook.
>>
>>77719169
>Cook's stock is sky high right now
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6RTB53Xgkw&ab_channel=Tucci

He didn't look great in the Seattle game
>>
>>77719062
Go with Julio. The Bills are a dumpster fire right now and trying to trade McCoy. There's too much uncertainty right now. Julio is a much safer pick.

Now if it's McCoy vs OBJ, I think it's a bit closer. OBJ is a great reciever, but his production is unavoidably linked to Eli who is completely unpredictable, but showed some really bad signs last year. He was horrible and got worse as the season went on. He didn't even show up in the playoffs, and the Giants did nothing to upgrade their O-line in the offseason.
>>
>>77719323
Huh? He looked fine considering what defense he was going against.

More importantly, I trust Sam Bradford way more to keep defenses honest than Bortles or Chad Henne.
>>
>>77719494
>He looked fine considering what defense he was going against.
Look at the footage again. Missed lanes, tripping on his own feet, running into his own blockers, impatience...he blew at least half the plays and Seattle had little to do with it.
>>
>>77719530
Did you see Zeke in his first couple of games last year? Same thing. People were immediately calling him a bust after the Cowboys season opener. It usually takes a few games for RBs to fully adjust to the NFL.

Fournette is playing in an offense who's QB is notoriously known as the king of garbage time because the Jags get blown out so often. Falling behind a bunch is not exactly a great recipe for a RB getting a lot of carries. Vikings defense tends to keep most games close, so you should expect them to keep running the ball well in to the 4th quarter.
>>
10 team snake, how'd I do? didn't mean to draft Cam, looked away for too long and auto'd. Also my RBs are iffy
>>
>>77720411
Not bad. As long as Gordon is at least decent you should get carried by your WRs. Also I think there's a decent chance that Murray gets injured so I like Henry on the bench

Different style of runner yeah but their situations are scarily similar. Both are good RBs playing for bad teams, especially bad offenses. I believe that CHI has a better offense than LAR but the parallels are too similar, therefore I am avoiding Howard unless I can get him later than his ADP, so like the 4th round.

>>77715081
Like the other anon said, try to keep both. Depth at RB is more important than depth at WR

>>77718105
Fournette is risky af right now with how bad the JAX offense is. Henne may be the starter come week 1 so expect to run more often and expect the other team's defense to stack the box to prevent it. Also he is dealing with a foot injury and has ankle injury history.

Cook on the other hand, he is looking terrific and is a great candidate to either hold on to or trade for higher value. Getting Fournette for Cook is a bad deal right now.

As of right now I see that McCaffrey and Cook are the best two rookie RBs.

>>77718844
Realistically it doesn't matter as long as you go RB/WR, RB/RB, or WR/RB. Just don't draft Gronk or a QB.

Player-wise, target Antonio Brown or OBJ in the 1st, Demarco Murray or Devonta Freeman in the 2nd.

Just be aware that the most important rounds are 4-9. You can't win your league in the draft but you can certainly lose it.

>>77719009
I agree with that logic, Dez not only looks good so far and the chemistry with Dak is looking better, look for Dak to look Dez' way while Zeke is out. Like I said in previous posts though that the defense will expect more passing with Zeke out though.

>>77719062
OBJ > Julio, less injury risk that way. Marshall will make OBJ better as well. I see major regression from the Falcons offense

>>77720411
Solid team anon, while I agree that your RBs are shallow I think you'll be fine especially if Henry hits this year. Also look to move Meredith when he busts out, because he will.

>>77720982

Truth be told I should have gotten him before that but I know my leaguemates and I know they don't draft suspended players
because they're largely retarded
. I'd still get him in the 7th for sure.
>>
>>77721817
What would be the best fantasy team if you only used one team's players? I'm thinking Falcons > Cowboys > Patriots > Titans.
>>
>>77729110
Where did you draft from and when did you get Zeke? I'm curious to see where people are drafting him.

I really don't like your WRs but you have some trade pieces to get a tier 1, like AJ Green or Jordy Nelson.

>>77729168
Take the best player but be aware WR is much deeper than RB. At 7 you should target Freeman, Shady, or Gordon but don't pass on a tier 1 WR if it drops to you (Brown, Jones, OBJ). "Zero RB" is still a viable strategy if you know what you are doing. I don't like Zero RB personally but it works for other people.

>>77729245
I'd guess Falcons, Saints, Patriots.

I drafted #2 overall, got Zeke in the 3rd round, pick 22 overall
>>
>>77723146
McFadden will probably be an RB1 for the first 6 weeks. He tends to drop really far or even go undrafted because after Zeke comes back he'll be way less valuable, but it's well worth using a late bench pick on him because he'll win you some games early in the season.

Mahomes is a guy who I don't think will be yet worth it this year, but at some point will replace Smith and look really good in Reid's system.
>>
>>77729110
That David Johnson/Zeke/Doug Martin combo could win you the league if the latter two come back from their suspensions and start putting up numbers.
>>
>>77729365
Thanks, good to know. I feel like Zeke is a good value there in the 3rd if comboed with McFadden.

>>77729419

>>
Can someone convince be that McCoy > Freeman for this season? For some reason, I'm extremely high on Freeman, and McCoy's age and workload makes me nervous.
>>
McCoy is better than Freeman though, why do you need convincing?
>>
>>77729475
Freeman can't run away from a DT, is undersized, splits carries, is in an offense that will regress, just got a big contract and will be lazy, etc
>>
>>77729475
>>77729486
McCoy is better than Freeman but ATL's offense is orders of magnitude better than BUF's especially considering the firesale they're having. I'd be legit surprised if McCoy wasn't traded.

Go with the better offense and take Freeman.
>>
>>77729168
Literally depends on who is drafted in front of you. Just make a top 7 board of players you want, it's not that hard. For me, I'd go

>David Johnson
>Leveon Bell
>Julio Jones
>Antonio Brown
>Mike Evans
>LeSean McCoy
>OBJ

You're actually in a very enviable position in that the top 2 guys are easy, but then from 3-6 it's really hard and debatable who you should draft, but at 7, you can just take the last of these players available.

Where I'm stuck currently is what position to start with... I could feasibly land Devonta or Melvin Gordon in Round 1, but Jordy Nelson and TY Hilton should both be available as well.

Which of those 4 players would you take at 9 if they're all available? Where would you go from there? (Could feasibly get M. Thomas or Fournette in Round 2 and, if I'm lucky, Ajayi) And how tied to a specific strategy should I be going in? I've been playing for 6 years now and draft incredibly poorly in at least a league a year, so I'm trying to end that streak.
>>
>>77730082
If he's healthy, he is so completely far ahead of every TE available. I personally avoid him because I've been burned too many times, but the potential is always there for him to break the league in points at his position.
>>
>>77729639
I never draft more than one defense or kicker, personally, and most of /sp/ probably wouldn't either.

Your core is strong, but it'd be nice to get another RB or two and another solid-tier WR (it's a longshot but some may be available in your FA pool). Mixon is in a three-headed backfield with Bernard and Hill, but I do think he's the most talented of the three. I'm tempted to tell you that Kelce is a solid enough bet that you may be able to trade Martellus, and I'd also consider trading Carr in order to strengthen RB and WR a touch. Remember, you can only play one of him and Rodgers for the week, whereas you can play 2 (or 3) RBs or WRs. You could also use Martellus as your flex if you decide to keep him.

But seriously, check the FA pool for guys like Alvin Kamara and Kenny Golladay. I'd recommend dropping at least Dawson, probably the New England D for those guys, especially in a PPR format.

if he's so injury prone shouldn't that be a red flag to not pick him?

Unironically like your starters, would drop literally everyone on your bench except West and look for a FA.

my team name is "Team" fuck you

How many teams is that league?

Ehhh

You could do a lot worse I guess. Hopefully West does well this year, I think he definitely could. But overall I'm not a big fan of your list outside of Cooper (he's gonna be great I think, breakout year) and McCaffrey. But it's not a disaster.
>>
>>77730976
Gordon > Nelson > Hilton of those players available.

Personally, I would start reaching like crazy after like the 7th pick in the draft. I absolutely hate this year's recommended 1st round picks after Bell and Johnson. I have nearly as much confidence in players like Dez and Prior as I do the top WR picks like Brown and OBJ. I feel dirty drafting WRs until at least very late in the 1st round unless there's somebody who's clearly ahead of the field.
>>
>>77731482
Gordon over Freeman even in PPR? I was a Gordon owner in almost every league last year and it seemed he was only siper valuable when seeing the end zone, Freeman catches a hell of a lot more passes, but I guess Coleman is there as well...

First year playing fantasy football, barely even watch it to be honest, just looked up a bunch of top-20 lists and did a mock draft to see who else was going

Is this good?
>>
when do you guys do new threads?
>>
>>77731975
how many teams are in the league? it kinda matters to judge how good the team is

that being said you fucked up by drafting brady and brees, i would try to trade one of them for a serviceable WR or RB
>>
>>77732091
10 people

Yesterday a guy offered me Adrian Peterson and Jared Cook for Brees and Freeman but from what little I know about football that sounds like a bad trade to me
>>
>>77732113
that is a very bad trade yeah

im gonna be honest that is not a good team for a 10 league

if you want to compete you are gonna need to do some research and really try to build your team thru waiver wire/trades, especially waiver wire.
>>
>>77732129

What should the strategy be for picking up players off the waiver wire if most of the well known good players usually go in the draft? Should I just try to look for people having an uncharacteristically good year or guys that everybody somehow forgot about?

Okay so this is kind of a complicated question

Here is what you're going to need to do:

http://www.rotoworld.com/sports/nfl/football?ls=roto:nfl:gnav

Familiarize yourself with that website. It provides updates on all injuries and significant happenings in the NFL, particularly with fantasy in mind. Generally speaking, every week there will be a starting player who gets injured, or a lesser-known player who shows that he can perform extremely well. You have to be aware of that so that you can put in the waiver requests and have a chance at getting these players. You should feel free to drop Joe Williams for sure, if the opportunity presents itself.
>>
>>77731906
You misread what I said. I was simply talking about those 3 players, which is what that post was asking. Definitely Freeman over Gordon. McCoy over Freeman.
>>
>>77632150
needs 2 more teams!
>>
>>77732160

Scoring? Number of teams? Position?

I think you drafted 6th maybe? 7th? Good starters, Ajayi is a bit of a gamble though but has elite upside, not really different than the big three or for RBs though, he's in that pack of 10 or so second level guys.

Your bench a shit though. I hope this was a 10-person league.

>those backs
>that depth

I don't like having two QBs unless one of them fell really late, but your backs could easily carry you to the playoffs. Your WRs are middling WR2s with WR1 potential, but you have enough depth to rotate them and play matchups and those backs, man. When did you pick up Gillislee? You went RB RB WR? How did that shake out.

>>77729475

I think Freeman is the safer pick but McCoy has more of an upside. If Mike Evans is available in the first round I'd take him over either IMO, at least in PPR.

>>77729639

>two kickers
>two QBs, one of whom you almost certainly drafted in the first four rounds and another who you drafted 10th-11th who could give you almost the same production with far less draft equity
>two D/ST

I don't hate your WRs, I just hate everything else.

>>77731374

>Edelman at WR1
>two QBs who will probably end up posting similar numbers

I just, I just hope you're PPR, that way Edelman and White have more value for you.

R8 me.

10 team .5PPR, drafted 2nd.
>>
>>77732398
not a fan of your WRs and idk how you ended up with Doyle in 10-team (unless you're just really high on him)

it could work if Luck stays healthy (for TY's sake) and Jeffrey does well in philly. We'll see.
>>
>>77732409

Not thrilled either. I had the 2nd pick in round nine (82), picked up Gillislee (I think he's a steal and is a legitimate flex/RB 3 option most weeks). My next pick was 99, and Brate, Bennett, and Witten all go off the board before. Walker and Graham both went in the 8th. I snagged Carr because he was the best remaining QB, then Eifert goes at 101 and I'm stuck with Doyle (I think he can be more consistent than Ertz and I believe in Andrew Luck this year).

I'm happy with my WRs, probably don't have a true WR1 but my guys should have a decent floor with upside. RB is obviously where I can crush it. Fournette is obviously a gamble and it's really hard to rank rookies, but his upside is crazy, he could get 25+ carries a game. And TJ Yeldon just got hurt...

The TE position shouldn't make or break my team, IMO
>>
>>77732466
TE has been a fucking crapshoot for the last 2 years, maybe even more, Gronk/ImJimmy aren't solid round 1 picks, Olson/Kelce/Eifert are solid round...4/5? I don't think there has been a STONE COLD PICK OF THE WEEK TE in a long while..
>>
>>77732590
Also, Im pretty high on Bucs this year, whats the general consensus on OJ Howard, I ate shit drafting ASJ when he was a rookie, but the TE slot is looking slim.
>>
>>77732590

It's tough. Gronk is a beast but he has problems staying healthy, and I don't feel like you're getting a whole lot more out of that 2nd tier in the middle rounds to justify not picking up RB/WR depth. I drafted early in the 5th and all of those 2nd-tier guys got scooped up by the 6th. So then I waited and got more value at RB/WR. I need depth at WR in my league because we start 3, and the injury bug murdered my team last year. I feel like Bell can put up as much points by himself as a lot of my opponents's will be putting up at the position a lot of weeks, and if Fournette pans out I have two RB1s and can flex Ware most weeks. Then just go with the matchups at WR and hope Alshon is a stud for Philly. I'm really happy with Carr too.
>>
>>77732209
That makes more sense. Thanks!
>>
>>77732631
Yeah, Im drafting something like 3rd or 4th in a 1 keeper league, where most dudes are keeping 1st rounders, so I think I am gonna reach on a TE, unless some shitter like Clay or Hooper pans out in the late late rounds. Ive never reached on a QB or a TE and have finished top 3 only once in my 4 years. This years gonna be different, THIS YEAR.....
>>
>>77732642
If it makes you feel any better ive never drafted a TE before the 6th or 7th round and ive finished top 4 in 3 out of 3 years
>>
>>77732710
Actually upon reading your post again im not sure if that would make you feel better

>>
>>77732642

If you reach on a TE reach late, like Bennett in the 9th or something.
>>
>>77732749
I was gonna reach on All Day Zay at 9...
>>
>>77732738
>Im a Bills fan

Anon I am so sorry. What do you think of the rumors of Taylor and McCoy being traded?
>>
>>77732765
No one wants Tyrod, if your team is bad enough to want him, you might as well draft a rookie, and Shady is old, but gold, but hes probably worth a second plus a younger depth player, Theres only a handfull of teams that are a RB away from the SB, and would they be willing to make an offer to make it worth it...
>>
>>77732826

I could legitimately see Shady making a difference for every NFC North team except for Chicago.
>>
>>77732398
Not as bad as some people might say but I have a pretty whack job status group of WRs to target this year. Jeffrey might be alright but Hilton is gonna get double teamed a lot. Also I feel like you chose a kicker too early if you ended up with gostowski.
>>
>>77733083

15th, 17 rounds. I was going to get Tucker but somebody nabbed him right before me. Honestly I'm perfectly fine with a platoon that lacks a true stud #1 and can consistently deliver 10-15 PPG when I have Bell and Fournette. And when the Jags have a shit match-up where they're going to be behind and airing it out I can plug in Ware or Gillislee. I think he'll get all of Blount's goal line looks and early down work and he can be utilized more in the passing game. Obviously not expecting 18 TDs but Belichick is going to use his backs no matter what even though the Patriots are a pass first team.

I'm also OK with Hilton getting double-teams because that will open up Doyle, who is no longer splitting targets with Dwayne Allen. Doyle is 27 years old, 6'6" (big even among tight ends) and just got a 3-year $19 million deal. He's going to be a big part of the offense.

12 team snake draft with pre-determined draft #.

Guy wants to trade his 2nd & 3rd pick for my 1st and 4th. Wat do? My first pick is usually a bust so I'm not totally against this trade.
>>
>>77734288
I'm 5th pick and he is 7th fyi
>>
>>77734319

I wouldn't do it. If he really wants a first rounder from you, this is the trade I would counter with:

He gets your first and sixth round picks. You get his second and third. The talent level seriously drops after the top 7 picks, so if he wants that pick from you, you need to make sure he pays the price for it.

>I don't like having two QBs unless one of them fell really late
I got Luck in the 10th round, pick 99. Figured it was good value
>Your WRs are middling WR2s with WR1 potential
No argument here
>When did you pick up Gillislee?
Round 8 pick 79
>You went RB RB WR? How did that shake out.
I actually took Baldwin in the 2nd, and got Zeke in the 3rd

And for your team
No major mistakes although I don't like fournette or the jags oline
Also don't like panthers D, they're better than average but play in a division that's loaded with quality offenses
overall still 7/10 should make playoffs
