GMs undervalue intangibles, particularly in QBs. They don't like things that you can't easily quantify and compare on paper and measure against other players.

You hear so many stories about QBs like Brady that were underdrafted doing all these little things and having facets to their personalities that clearly set them apart from other QBs drafted much higher than them early on, but get ignored until hindsight.

One interesting story I read about Dak recently was when the Cowboys coaches were screening rookie QBs prior to his draft, they tried to fuck with them with a trick question by telling them to draw what option route the WR should take against the defense. All the other QBs they brought in after being told they were wrong on both attempts just nervously gave up and conceded they must have been wrong. Dak though became stubborn and frustrated after he was told he was wrong and said to the coaches there must have been something wrong with the question. They started laughing and went up to the board and drew a route that goes right through the defender.

Even then the Cowboys FO wasnt all that high on him and only took him because other QBs they liked more like Wentz, Cook, and Lynch were gone at the times they wanted to draft them.
