It's the same in most African countries. Without government support, your athletes will never achieve anything.

Just looks at Botswana (2 million population), South Africa, Kenya and Ethiopia where the governments gives proper support from juniors through to seniors vs countries with huge potential like Nigeria where there's no government support. Nigerians move to Qatar and become big name athletes because they get proper funding.
