I think he's safe for now. The big issue for the Marlins is the ownership situation. Firing Mattingly will only destabilize the team and make them unattractive to buyers. After/if the team sells, then all bets are off. Who knows who the new owners will be or what their plan is. No one. Still. I see him as safe through next season at least.
