Worst: running, this might be the worst suggestion if you're serious about losing weight. Very easy to injure your knees or joints if you go from couch potato to 10-20 miles a week via improper form. Even with good form it would take you several months to be able to burn lots of calories in a given 6-8 mile run, or without completely burning yourself out.

So stick to cycling OP, you can't go wrong with it

That's not true, you can find very capable bicycles for exercise for about half that price, at least here in America. If you want the high end road bikes well then yeah they are above a grand.

If you want to lose weight, you want a used mtn bike for < USD500. You don't need all that stupid shit like shocks and whatever, just something that is a little beefier, steel frame, nice big tires.

Can certainly find them cheaper, just make sure they haven't been in a crash, get a proper tune-up, and you're good to go.
