What do you mean retrain role? It's not like they work as described anyway. He got good teamwork so he's ok even with blindness and weak concentration. Just sub him often if you're not simulating. Make him dribble + score type forward and PPM+instruct to simple pass and not shoot often. This weak combo of composure balance and technique will make him "it's a 6.3 day" regular. So just give him good playmaking, another forward buddy and CFa AF him. Foul earning machine and will eventually become pace baby god with avoid weak foot+play simple passes+run with ball PPMs.

Not sure roles work that way. I think its more to do with their attributes. But I've seen their roles change randomly over time as well.

If I'm wrong and it does make a difference, then the amount of time it takes will depend on their hidden attributes, same as training for new positions.

News regarding the predicting/betting league:
We opened a new league for the CL and EL matches. We didn't want to include those tournaments (the CL especially) in the league we already have, because there are much more EPL games than CL games - if we merged the two competitions together then the CL predictions would barely have an effect on the overall outcome. Hence, we created a new league:

Sign up for this shit as you did for the other league, and I'd advise you to use the account you already have because it makes switching between the leagues very easy and simple for you.

Since EL games are a meme before the RO16, we changed the scoring system for the CL/EL league in a way that EL group stage matches and RO32 matches are only worth half the points of any CL game. We did this by doubling the amount of points for CL games (and for EL games, from RO16 onwards).

We also changed the scoring scheme of the EPL predicting league, from a 2 3 4 system (2 for outcome, 3 for exact GD, 4 for exact result) to a 3 4 5 system. The reason for that is that in league matches, teams only care about the outcome - they play for points and couldn't care less for the exact score of a specific game. Hence, it will often happen that a team who's losing a close game will open up in the last minutes and concede another, or teams will totally give up and get demolished, etc etc - teams just dont care about the exact result in league games, so predicting the exact result/GD is really hard and much more luck based, so I wanted the scoring system to reward those who get the results right, rather than those who get lucky with exact scores.

Since the opposite is true for CL/EL games (tiebreakers for groupstage is GD between teams, and knockout matches are all about the exact results and away goals and shit), teams go out and try to get specific results, like winning with a clean sheet at home or getting an away goal no matter what etc, or closing up shop away from home to not get battered and have a fighting chance in the home game, etc etc. Since teams focus on exact scores, predicting exact GD or results becomes much less random and much less noisy in the CL, so there's no need to change the formula.

Pretty irrelevant, my team is just much better than the others in the league, and anything decently shaped with good players will carry you in EL/CL since FM's AI is crap (nevermind the home/away bias). I probably would've a couple more losses and draws in England where the league is somewhat more balanced, or perhaps in Spain since there are fairly big clubs there.

Should've picked up a mid-table club, expected to finish 8th or something. If you're at a big club and you screw up you'll get sacked in two months. If you're in a relegation fighting club, you'll just get slapped left and right and you won't learn.

I like mid-table French Ligue 2 for that purpose: the teams aren't so strong you'll have insane expectations (unless you're expected to get promoted) and allow to dream a bit, and the players aren't so shit that the football will be eye gouging or that you'll be able to play nothing but a 4-4-fucking-2.

First, you don't fucking press Space to continue. You assess your squad: who's good, who's terrible, who's retiring, do you have promising youngsters that could step into the first team. Old farts who can't do shit (2 golden stars and lower) get dropped to the reserves/U23s if there's a couple of better options available. That will help you determine what kind of formation you can play: if you have 4 or 5 good strikers, don't play a formation with only one striker, etc.

Again, don't fucking press Space: look at your team, look at who can do what, what you're expected to do and build a tactic around it. If your team is slow as molasses, don't play Counter for example.

Use common sense. You click on a player and look at his attributes. A Winger that can't dribble nor cross won't cut it, same with a centre-back or a keeper who can't jump. A Playmaker with no Vision won't cut it, and neither will a striker with no Finishing nor Composure.

Obviously while one or two attributes can disqualify a player, it's not enough to consider if he's up to the task or not. Some attributes like Determination, Decisions or Bravery are universally great to have, and more than a few others are good to have too. The coach report will also tell you about his character, if he likes big matches, if he's consistent, if he tends to two-feet the opposition for no reason or if he's absurdly injury prone.

The good thing is that once you have knowledge of your squad, all the selection process for matches, training, transfers and the like will be much faster. But you really have to put the hours in now, don't press Space, get to know your team and your staff. And it's better that you handle all staff responsibilities: don't trust your board, your Ass Man or your Director of Football. Actually, sack your Director of Football, he's fucking useless.

It was easy in FM15 to destroy WBs in weak leagues with Wide Target Man who can dribble. WBs stat line would end up being 15+ challenges lost, 5+ fouls, almost always yellow+frequent red, possible penalties. Even players with great mentals would suffer because their rating plummets and they start losing control. Haven't tried it yet, despite engine being pretty much similar to 2015. Finding right player for that is tough though. Regens are not hard to get CA level wise but right combo of attributes is super rare.
