like, seriously, what does that have to do with what that (my) specific post said? I'm not with the other two so don't lump those in.
Soccer is terrible. How can Euros and Foreigners honestly like that shit?
Do their tiny brains confuse jogging around with "action?"
And what all that jogging and "action" results in is typically a 0-0 tie or some predictable 1-0, 2-1 low scoring affair. Then if there's a tie in knockout game, they decide the match on some shitty Mario Party minigame.
And then 50% of the game (it is a game, not a sport) is twinks throwing themselves to the grass like they've just been shot hoping to get a call.
Only popular because you don't need anything to play it. Get a goat's head, kick it around the local village and you have a soccer game.
Sure, you can take over the board and have fun while we're asleep.
We'll put it back on track when we wake up, as usual.
>>77448407

Marathon runners run 26 miles. It's still boring to watch and pretty much a non-sport.
There's also nothing impressive about how many miles soccer players run in a match. Fat redditors run 10 miles daily in the same amount of time.
>>77448426
What's that got to do with miles?
Are you honestly telling me that if I put on ANY match, i wont see people walking up the pitch slowly? In every game? Deluding your self m8y.
I also didn't say anything abouy who runs the most, so your metric isn't proving anything I'm talking about.
AM football isn't distance running, only an idiot would use that metric for ANYTHING related to football. If that's all you're measuring you'll fucking love marathons. They run like, 20 miles or something. maybe more in a relegation match.
>>77448432
Running is just a tiny part of football.
In football you also have to
>control the ball with your feet
>pass it teammates
>try to unmark you
>mark opposing players
>maintain formation
>shoot when you have a clear opportunity
It's very complex sport to play and understand, no wonder why simpletons like you don't like it

Do the math, and the distance they run isn't all that impressive..
7 miles per match is the global average. They do this in 90 minutes with a half-time break.
You know what walking speed is?
4mph. Meaning that you can walk 6 miles in 90minutes.
So soccer is basically a nice light jog interrupted by some sprinting once in a while. NFL? Full 100% sprint every down.
>>77448457
So defensive, is your ego being hit? I like that.

That's still significantly more scoring that soccer. 9 total scores.
Your jogging game averages about 2.8 goals per game and ends up in a tie 30% of the time.
Also:
>Take the most common final score, for example. In 188,060 league games,2 the final tally was most often 1-0, proof, for Curley, that soccer was as low-scoring as he suspected. This result has occurred in more than 30,000 games — 16 percent of the total. Other common scores: 2-1 (about 27,000 games), 2-0 (about 22,000) and 1-1 (about 22,000).
In 85,694 games — dangerously close to half the total — at least one of the teams forgot to score at all. That led Curley to an answer for one of his questions: “Soccer is a bit dull,” he told me.
>Most common score is 1-0.

It looks you don't understand sports. Sad 2bh
>>77448509
No. But scoring difficulty needs balance. If you think basketball has too much scoring and becomes meaningless and redundant after awhile, I tend to agree. Soccer is on the other end of the spectrum.
Less scoring means less chances of an epic comeback, less "back and forth" exchanges (i.e. one team scores, the other team scores, rinse-repeat a few times). Also, soccer is a game where you can't take the lead from a deficit with a single goal. Best you can do is tie.
>You will never know the pure ecstasy of a 98 yard TD drive in the waning moments down 6 points.
Feel sorry for Euros.
>>77448559
>>You will never know the pure ecstasy of a 98 yard TD drive in the waning moments down 6 points.
This:
Yuropoors will never know:
>Hailmary TD pass facing a 5 point deficit as the clock strikes 0 to win the game.
>Walkoff grandslam to win the game down 3 runs
>Buzzer beating 3 pointer to win a game 101-100
>>77448559
>Less scoring is bad
First, in football there are plenty of underdogs who wins 1-0. Get a goal, and defend it to the death until the very last second. Definitively not possible in sports with plenty of scoring.
>Less scoring means less chances of an epic comeback
Well that's just wrong, there are plenty of comebacks from said 1-0. Score a tie, then build on the momentum
>soccer is a game where you can't take the lead from a deficit with a single goal.
Wrong again, because you're forgetting the home/away matches and goals rule.
>You will never know the pure ecstasy of maintaining in the elite division by getting 1 point after tieing 1-1 in the last match of the last day of the season
>>77448579
lol didn't we just witnessed 6-1 in the last UCL? Like Nerman carries Barça by scoring 2 goals/1 assist in the last 8 minutes? Are you high or what?
And these last minutes comebacks just happen every match day in every league

>>77448623
So why do you still watch boreball, which is 100x more boring?
>>77448579
The 2 minute, 80+ yard drive meme at the end of a game is glorified if you ask me.
Every defence drops way back and they always allow passes underneath, so 10-15 yards per catch is almost expected. It's the red zone where the drive gets interesting, like always.
But to suggest it's difficult to drive most of the field late down 4 or more is just silly.

>baseball fans live through infinite boredom to see this finally happen when the stars are aligned
can't see the difference from a game winning goal at the last minute, besides game winning goals at the last minute happen way more often
>>77448628
Baseball has more scoring, more unpredictable scoring (a baseball game can end 1-0 or 30-10), and the tension of a 1 run situation with men on in an important inning is entertaining.
Like we've been saying. We don't need running around to be entertained. Soccer isn't that interesting to Americans generally.
I think the boring argument is actually a shallow criticism for any sport, and it's not necessarily what turns Americans off soccer. I would more blame diving, ties, and the lack of controlled possession (Americans like games where you can "hold" the ball, so to speak). Soccer seems like pinball more often than not.
Case in point.
>>77448688
>>baseball fans live through infinite boredom to see this finally happen when the stars are aligned
Something like that happens 3 or 4 times every playoffs.
And I'd be willing to bet my house that baseball has a higher walk off win ratio than soccer has score in the last minute ratio.
>>77448696
yeah, because 3rd division English hoofball is perfectly equivalent to top UEFA teams refined possession-based football
>>77448726
There's still a lot of lost possessions in top tier soccer that just seem random. Basically, pass, pass, pass, over pass, out of bounds. Throw in, pass, pass, slide tackle ball away. Pass out of bounds. Throw in.
We just don't like the game's rhythm.
We also have two goal sports (basketball and hockey) that are similar enough to soccer in design that soccer won't be seen as any unique enough to pull American audiences away in droves.
End of the day, it's cultural. Other sports connected with the culture before soccer was even invented and/or properly introduced here, while around the world, soccer connected before other sports were introduced properly.
It's got really nothing to do with, "Murricans hate soccer cuz it's for euro sissy men!"
We only play that up when Yuros criticize our sports. In reality, most Americans are indifferent about soccer, but enjoy it at a super casual level, like watching their kids play it on weekends.
>>77448767

you haven't watched a good baseball game, the score can be as low as 1-0 or go full stupid and end 16-15 for example, teams rallying in the late innings to tie the game, losing by 10 runs isn't a death sentence, good luck trying to come back from a 3-0 in european football, also it's a much more situational sport, a single can be more inportant in the score than a home run, a triple can mean shit while something as stupid as a defensive interference can end games, so timing in the offense is vital, also despite being a team sport individuals still have ways to shine by themselves, 4 dingers in a night, a cycle, 20 k's, perfect games, each turn can be important, one misplaced curveball and the ball ends in the stands, you only need to pay attention to the details of the game
