Also because of streaming being the future ESPN is looking more and more like it's a useless, uneeded entity because leagues can sell directly to the consumer instead of relying on and sharing revenue with a middle man like ESPN.

At a certain point, ESPN has made the decision that the people who are cord-cutting are wealthy whites, and that the people who are still connected to cable (and watch tv) are blacks. ESPN has completely overhauled their programming to be black-centric. This isn't even a /pol/ post, you can see it in the crowds. Whenever they have a show that is in front of a live crowd, the crowd will typically be about 75% black. Hell, the reinvention of SC6 was basically "let's make Black Sportscenter" full of the memes and lexicon of black culture.

I don't know if it was a savvy or desperate move on their part, but it's very apparent.
