I wanted to learn some basic of martial arts . Since I'm not in a big city it's impossible to find actual lessons . So I was thinking of following online lessons, I have first found Jake Mace on youtube but the comments always say he's a scammer and know nothing about martial arts . Since I can't judge by myself with my lack of knowledge on the subject, do any of you know where I could start to learn some basic exercises ?
Jiu Jitsu my man
Take classes with someone reputable. Learn how to spar/grapple, learn how to control your hits when you need to. You can learn basics on the Internet but until you spar and apply the basics it's the same as a kid bragging he knows karate because he can move his hands and feet a certain way.

I trained box for 2 years
in street fight 80% of the time they try to go on ground
so i started jitsu in like less then two years
in one year training u can learn a lot more in jitsu then box

boxing and bjj are plentiful. mma /MT gyms are less common but also very effective in real life.
If you want to learn an effective combat martial art that is still fancier, you can learn karate but make sure your gym has actual sparring

90% of fights end up on the ground. Take wrestling or jujitsu bro . I'm a pro boxer here btw and just giving you my honest opinion
