It's the same price as every other PPV.
Just like the $100 is a similar price for PPV in America.

$100 isn't the normal price in America, it's the top line price for Mayweather fights and there was a risk that it would be pushed up here to 25 as BT might overbid due to their UFC connection. The streams will be unwatchable.

I don't think so, it's not clear yet. It's listed as 'Live on PPV' on their website and the talk was of PPV with BT maybe coming in when they secured the rights. Saunders vs Monroe is being advertised as BT/boxnation so they can't be bundled together. It will flop on PPV on its own though.

>>
>>77412623
I doubt Wilder makes it that far. Ortiz, Povetkin or Parker will finish him off first
>>
>>77412623
Joshua is fighting Klitschko in November. Wilder will fight either Ortiz or Stiverne. If he fights Ortiz he may not get out of it with the belt. If Stiverne sues them into fighting as mandatory then he'll win and they'll probably end up fighting in April.

>Subscription channel showing one sport launching it's own PPV channel

That will only end in disaster.

Neither Golovkin nor Canelo are big enough in the UK to warrant this fight being PPV here.
>>
>>77412705
It'll be Klitschko, then Pulev, then the WBO champion, then maybe Wilder if he's still relevant

He could potentially leapfrog the WBO champion if he actually beats someone relevant like Ortiz or Povetkin or the WBO champion himself, but he doesn't seem to want to do that. As things stand though, Parker and Hughie have a higher profile in the UK than Wilder and won't demand as much money
>>
>>77412256

wtf why is Joe Cortez in the sparring ring in full ref uniform??
>>
>>77412953
Wilder will take priority over Parker because he can bring in more money through the US market with that fight built right. That's the fight showtime want. Parker is also in a 50/50 fight with Hughie so might not make it that far.
>>
>>77413051
They paid him to simulate a real fight experience and teach McGregor how to not get disqualified
>>
>>77413094

so Joe just likes wearing the uniform lol?
>>
>>77413064
If the fight's in the UK, as it should be, it won't be PPV in the USA and Showtime won't pay more than $3m or so for the license fee. If Parker beats Hughie he will be a bigger draw in the UK than Wilder, plus they could potentially have the fight start late UK time and also put it on PPV in New Zealand (more of a captive audience over there) and they will still undoubtedly get some kind of licensing fee from the States for it
>>
>>77413051
Damn i thought this was a joke but mcgregor is going full leonard... Also what are the chances mayweather compromises and lets the ref be someone like smoger and we see some wild shit?
>>
>>77413064
And if Hughie wins then he is probably a higher priority opponent than Wilder too, thanks to his name and nationality. He's not actually with Frank Warren, remember, so despite calling Hearn a cockroach recently he could still probably fight on Sky
>>
>>77413161
Parker vs Hughie is struggling to sell tickets and it's on ITV box office, the winner of that isn't automatically a star because it doesn't matter to casuals. If Parker wins he's fighting Whyte or Bellew next as they already met Eddie and if Hughie wins they've spoke to David Haye. Hughie isn't an exciting fighter and needs to build his reputation. PPV in NZ is irrelevant because it's a small country.

The Wilder fight can be done in Las Vegas and if it isn't it will be because there's more money at Wembley.

>>77413191
Hughie won't be a draw off one win that's going on ITV box office. He's a boring fighter and Parker doesn't have drawing power here yet.
>>
>>77413286
I never said it would make him a star, I just think he's already as much of a known quantity as Wilder in the UK, and if he beats Hughie Fury then that will be something Hearn and Sky can use in promotion, compared to Wilder who has nothing

>The Wilder fight can be done in Las Vegas and if it isn't it will be because there's more money at Wembley.

It will never make more money in the USA than in the UK. No chance

>Hughie won't be a draw off one win that's going on ITV box office. He's a boring fighter and Parker doesn't have drawing power here yet

Conor with 10 oz boxing gloves is going to hit Floyd like a fucking truck. He's going to hit even harder.

Conor knows that Floyd has got weak brittle hands so he's not even gonna worry about getting hit in this fight. He's just going to hit him wherever and whenever, I predict that he is going to try and break his hands while Floyd is defending against the ropes, he is going to break his guard then go for uppercut knockout and finish it that way.

Your guy is fooked. Seriously. If you aren't putting money on McGregor you're retarded at this point.

Jarrell Miller at the moment is a heavier but overall worse version of Dillian Whyte. He's thick set and can carry 290lbs well but you can not go into fights against boxers who will land big punches and keep moving weighing that much or you will gas out in round 6. Wilder also beat him up in sparring before so he's not ready for that fight.

They both come from a kick boxing background as well there's a lot of similarities but Miller is a plodder who wants to use his mass to wade in where as Whyte has spent the last 18 months trying to improve his boxing. Whyte would win by decision at the moment I think. Miller hasn't done enough yet to get a pay day fight so I'd like to see him fight Dominic Breazeale as they're both PBC and Breazeale is a big man with much more heart for a fight than Washington.

Don't know nothing on boxrec, might not resurface until next year. Better boxer than Breazeale but inexperience punching himself out. He's 30 and did kick boxing before, wouldn't be surprised if he gives it one more go than ends up in MMA

Kovalev returns on Nov 25th. Opponent still hasn't been decided.
I'm hoping it'll be Barrera.

http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=1-20229384

>Former unified light heavyweight world titleholder Sergey Kovalev (30-2-1, 26 KOs), who lost his three belts by controversial decision to Andre Ward in November and then got knocked out in the eighth round of the immediate rematch on June 17, will be back in action to headline an HBO card this fall. Kovalev's return is being ticketed for Nov. 25, with the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York the likely site, sources with knowledge of the plans told ESPN on Wednesday. Discussions about the opponent Kovalev will face are in the early stages. Kovalev defended his title eight times in dominant fashion, including unifying three of the major belts, before facing Ward in a match between two of boxing's best pound-for-pound fighters.

Paulie thinks McGregor will box again

>“He'll probably box again,” Malignaggi told the Jim Rome show. “I was thinking the same thing, you can make more money in boxing. We have the Ali Act that we're protected by that, at least, it's not going to prevent you from being screwed 100-percent, but it prevents you from being screwed the way they screw fighters in mixed martial arts.

>“So I think there's a possibility that Conor may box again, realizing he can make more money this way, and realizing he can keep a bigger chunk of the percentage of the money that he brings in as opposed to having to share most of it with everybody else. I don't think it's a far fetched conclusion that Conor boxes again, but I think for now the focus on one fight and one person and that should be the Mayweather fight.”

It'd also make McGregor the first person to win a world title in their second fight.

All of that is based on Horn retaining against Pac, though.

The WBO don't let you fight for the title off the back of a defeat. If he gets BTFO he'll go back to the UFC with his tail between his legs but if he can stay in there for 12 rounds there'll probably be boxing promoters thinking they can milk it a bit further

I don't think anyone of this current generation of HWs would be favoured over him. Wilder or Ortiz might hit him on the chin but I'd still take AJ by a wide margin.

AJ definitely has weaknesses to exploit but the guys to do it are retired or have just turned pro
>>
>>77449191
This is false since Lomachenko fought for the WBO title after loosing to Salido and this week Marriaga is fighting Lomachenko after having lost to Valdez.
But hey, it's uncle Bob, maybe Mcmeme can make it happen too given his star power.
>>
>>77449523
Bob owns the WBO but they made Liam Smith do a 4 rounder before the Liam Williams fight so it could be a WBO interim fight
>>
AJ will be in charge for a long time now. I only see two vulnerabilities: his massive entourage becoming a distraction and a young David Haye-type. I still think the Haye that beat Chisora is his kryptonite but 2017 Haye isn't half the fighter.

Based Tyson won't be back at world level. He'll attempt a comeback with some 8 rounders but fall off the wagon before anything becomes serious.
>>
>>77449523
If there's a second big score to be made, why not. I don't think people will pay to see him get BTFO a third time.

He will eventually because there's more money there but he's not going to beat people like AJ. He went 12 rounds with Glowacki and Michael Hunter in a division where he's bigger than everyone else
>>
>>77449628
Oh yeah everything can be negotiated in boxing when there's enough money. It really depends on how the fight goes whether it will have any legs. If he gets KO'd it'll be dead in the water. If Mayweather wins in a particularly boring and negative way there won't be any interest. He has to surpass expectations, do 12 rounds and keep it an exciting fight.

It's hard to say for certain, his mediocre defence and technique could cause him to lose to people he's expected to beat and his heart and power could get him wins over people I'd expect to beat him, but in general I think he's probably vulnerable to movers like Tyson Fury, sharpshooters like Luis Ortiz and inside fighters like Alexander Povetkin. He's too small IMO. Honestly, I can't see how Povetkin could withstand AJ's power even if he was quite a bit younger and he was never really a mover in there.

>Luis Ortiz
He's an old man, which is a shame because he could've given AJ a decent fight. We still might even get to see this one.

>movers like Tyson Fury
I agree, Haye would've been a great fight as well. The closest thing we might get would be Usyk.

Significant advantages in height, range, weight will all help tip it to you if all other factors are equal. It's more pronounced at heavyweight because there's no weight limit.
>>
>>77451623

Povetkin isn't that small and he knows how to get inside and land big punches. I'd favor both Ortiz and Povetkin over Joshua. Klitschko was old af and almost had him. If not for his loser mentality, he could've finished him in the 6th.
>>
>>77451481
And? He rehydrates to 210 when he fights, AJ weighs in at 240-250.
>>
>>77455391
David Haye is 1 year younger than Povetkin and 1 inch taller and also can get inside with good footwork so do you fancy him to beat Joshua as well? Joshua is too big. 250 lbs 6'6 82 inch reach. Povetkin lost to Klitschko, he will get banged out in 7 or 8 rounds by Joshua. Luis Ortiz is old and immobile. He will only lose if he takes his eye off the ball in the build up.

give me more short hair qts and I'll tell you

Haye's body is falling apart while Povetkin is in the best form of his career. Povetkin can absolutely find AJ's chin and hurt him. Klitschko should have been disqualified in the Povetkin fight, it was disgusting

And Ortiz would counter the shit out of AJ

Joshua is one-dimensional and his technique is poor

Now that it's been a month, do any of you think differently of the Horn-Pac fight? I rewatched it and muted the commentary. Although Horn was aggressive and pushed the pace while Manny looked aged, this is what I saw:

Horn 10-9
Horn 10-9
Pac 10-9
Pac 10-9
Pac 10-9
Horn 10-9
Horn 10-9
Pac 10-9
Pac 10-8
Horn 10-9
Pac 10-9
Horn 10-9
114-113 Pacquiao

It was close, it was good, but it was a robbery not because Horn won the UD as it could've really gone either way if you switch a couple of those close rounds. It because he won it so egregiously. I can understand the other two judge's cards but the one that had it 117-111 made me want to throw my remote at the television. Apparently the rematch is coming soon for these two so we can finally put that shit to bed.

He hasn't fought in literally years

How bad is this movie? Is it worth a watch?

Would have been cool to see him try for a title at 154 but good for him. One of the greats
>>
Lads what are your unironic opinions of what will happen in the Mayweather-McGregor fight?

Would consider buying the fight and using the winnings from a bet on Mayweather to cover the costs

>tfw I actually hate myself for even considering this
>>
>>77464407
It's ok I watched it on a flight and enjoyed it, just don't expect a masterpiece
>>
>>77464464
Look at the Chris Van Heerden sparring. McGregor can't box to a high level and will be completely outclassed. There are levels to this game. A bet on Mayweather to win is completely safe barring a fluke accident like a fan man coming down and crashing into Mayweather. Whether Mayweather will be able to take him out is up for debate and that's reflected in the betting odds, I could see a late TKO or McGregor saying No Mas but if it doesn't happen then he'll just cruise to a decision.
>>
>>77464464
Probably a lot of taunting at first, maybe Mayweather will lay on the ropes a little bit and let McGregor flail and burn off all his nervous energy. After that he can do whatever he wants.

The interesting part for me is whether Mayweather will choose to allow the fight to go the distance. I'm skeptical but it's a definite possibility.

McGregor will beat the fuck out of Mayweather from the opening bell and knock his glass jawed bum ass out.

Rounds 1+2, Floyd is patient and doesn't throw much, Conor swings and misses, maybe lands a few on the gloves/arms and gets the UFC crowd excited

Rounds 3+4, Floyd finds his rhythm, tags Conor with 2 and 3 hit combos, Conor visibly disheartened and starts covering up

Rounds 5+6 Conor is gassing badly, can't lift his gloves up, Floyd is hitting him at will backing him into a corner, ref stops the fight with Conor on his feet or the towel is thrown, UFC fans protest and say boxing sucks/in a real fight...etc
>>

It's good, but Bleed For This is better

Will this meeting be important to make the fight happen like it was the nba match where Pac and Floyd met?
>>

>UFC fans protest and say boxing sucks/in a real fight...etc
Of course. Don't think that ufc fans are going to respect boxing afterwards, no matter the outcome. It'll be "the gloves were too big" or "inside the octagon is a different story" or "Mayweather was running the whole fight"

It'll be worse afterwards than it is now

What is Eubank jr doing training in Mayweather's gym. He said he was in the camp for the. Mayweather/McGregor camp but I can't see him sparring Mayweather
>>
>>77464464
Goobert embarrasses himself first three rounds by flailing and missing, Floyd just laughs and stops taking it as serious in round 4. Gooby seems to start gassing, Floyd goes in for his first finish since forever ago, and Goob lands a left. Floyd doesn't get back up, perfect record dies and boxing dies with it.

>>77464282
Pauline got whooped every day. He couldn't even land a punch of McGregor. Not a single punch. That's why he's quit in a hissy fit. If he's so pissed at McGregor why did he quit the camp instead of continuing to spar and beat up McGregor for punishment? Because he can't because he sucks shit and got whooped.
>>
>>77465186
Only seen him doing bag work on snapchat. Possible he could be used as a sparring partner as he's big and aggressive but he might just also be saying that and he's paying to train there which he did before
>>
>>77465238

I'd be surprised if he was a sparring partner, Junior seems exactly the kind of knob to go in hard and try to hurt a guy even when told not to
>>
>>77465217
zzz you only bet $10 on McGregor and then inspect element edited it to $500 because you're a great pretender like Conor but reality is about to hit. Goodnight UFC
>>
>>77465278
Yeah probably unlikely he would be used. Mayweather might have invited him to use their gym at the London press conference

> I know he's a champ but hes also 22 years old, a quasi-prospect

Nice reading comprehension you got there you turbonigger
>>
>>77465624
Prospects have nothing to do with age but with the stage of their career.
If he's a champion he's not a "quasi-prospect", period.
>>
>>77464465
Thanks, I'll give it a go then.
>>77465087
I'll check that out as well. Thanks

He career just get started man. He hasn't fought any notable man, doesn't have a extensive amateur career, he just get a memebelt and that's all. I see a potential elite fighter but for now is just a young lion
