Repostan some
>In yet another twist, former Italy star Antonio Cassano could already be coming back out of retirement – merely days after hanging up his boots.

>According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, Cassano is thinking about playing again, although it certainly will not be at Verona, whom he left after just a fortnight.

>As it stands, Serie B side Virtus Entella – long-time admirers of the 35-year-old – could offer him a route back into football.

>The former Roma, Sampdoria and Milan attacker would also consider any proposals by himself, having cut ties with agent Tullio Tinti.

>Cassano retired and backtracked on the same day last week, before leaving Verona and then football altogether on Monday.

>Official | Ciprian Tatarusanu sold by Fiorentina to FC Nantes

on a somewhat related note, friend of a friend was a schoolmate of Micah Richards and said he was a 'really sound guy'
>>
>>77346845
Changing Richards from a RB into a CB still baffles me. He never showed any good restraint when spritning down the wing as a fullback, why would he be able to handle the mindgames with a striker? It's like some mong watched Mourinho do it with Ramos and wanted to copy the masterstroke.
>>
>>77346868
I have no idea, it was obvious he never had the knack playing CB. Positioning or concentration or discipline, whatever it was. Loved him at right back though, never knew why he didn't charge down the line/through people regularly, cos whenever he did it, it worked

Barcelona and Brazil forward Neymar, 25, has agreed a five-year contract with Paris St-Germain and could complete a £197m move to the French side next week. (RMC, via Metro)

>PSG will offer former Manchester United winger Angel di Maria, 29, as part of the deal to reduce the taxes they will have to pay by triggering Neymar's buyout clause. (AS)

If Neymar leaves, Barcelona will choose from a trio of Premier League attacking midfielders - Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho, 25, Chelsea's Eden Hazard, 26, and 21-year-old Tottenham player Dele Alli - to replace him. (Mirror)

>But Barcelona fear Liverpool will price them out of a deal for Coutinho. (AS)

in 10 years everyone will stop referencing 1992 to when the PL started as a milestone of where clubs have progressed

Everyone will be referencing 2016/17 when PL became it's own thing, away from major sponsor (Barclays) and when majority of clubs actually had money due to massive TV deal

Old clubs like Man U may have historical success, but thats only because they were one of the few clubs that actually had money to spend. 2016/17 TV deal without argument inflated the market, but I would rather mid table teams have the capacity to compete in the transfer market than to be poor and be forever 10th place fodder

The only people that will disagree with all this will be big club plastics that wish the prem went back to the stone age so """""their"""""" club can go back to walking the league every year (while flopping in europe lol)

SPL wouldnt be such a fucking joke if Celtic werent the only team that could afford/attract decent players. Surely no one here wants EPL to go back to SPL status, or even Buyernliga status
>>
>>77349889
I managed League Cup as Oxford United in debut season. That's when I quit and did 100% win rate in league as Barca, where Suarez and Messi got like 40 goals each. Only draw in the entire season was 2-2 with Spurs in CL. I then beat them 8-3 or something in QF two legs.

I had probably the toughest schedule out of any team in the PL, aside from Norwich. Idk what the fuck happened there
>>
>>77350018
I started 4-3-3. Eventually switched to 3-1-2-3.

Messi: RW
Suarez: ST
Neymar: LW
Rakitic: AMC/CM
Iniesta: CM
Rafiniha: CM
Biscuits: DM
Pique: CB
Umtiti: CB
Mascherano: CB
Ter Stegen: GK

But I switched around. Barca can't buy any good defenders due to transfer limitation. In my 2nd season I signed fuck loads of wonderkids. I then got bored and wanted to test out how they progress, so I made them all 20 Professional and 20 Determination, but kept everything else random, then set them to the same Current Ability to see how quickly t hey get to their PA.

Some did go faster. They're not first team, they're only like 125 CA and they're just raping the Youth league. My first team is the same as last year.

Nobody has that kind of money in FM17 in season one. Besides, there really aren't that many good CB's out there, especially when Umtiti will eventually be as good as them. Mascherano is the only one worth replacing and he's still good. You need £80M or so to get like Hummels or something.

Brazilian dickgirls are too ugly to be confused, this one actually looked like a girl so I'm fine.

Hue government are apparently trying to do something about the crazy, CRAZY, levels of violence and criminality there. You have to understand that the whole Rio situation, with all those favelas, crime factions and little monkeys riding around with huge guns is as strange to the rest of Brazil as it is to you euros. And the police in there are either in tandem with the gangbangers or formed their own militias (which are actually just criminal factions, but formed by corrupt policemen instead of criminals). So they sent the army and the special forces out there to see if they can do something about it.
>>

BOPE is just a small police squad (think like a swat team, or the british equivalent to it). They were created way after the whole favela and gang situation started, back in the 80s. And even BOPE, being as badasses as they are, can't erradicate crime in a slum, only the army can, I guess (the army did a few very succesfull operations a few years ago in there).

Where if you save before a match and if you lose it, reload and try again. I've done it loads of times, there is a pre-set result. I've even done it when I've won. Played Man City in Final of League Cup as my home team Oxford United, I won 5-1. I reloaded and won it again 4-2 the next game. Then reloaded again and won 5-1 again. All because the coding doesn't let AI teams put full strength sides in League Cup against lower league opposition. So I won easily against U21 team, essentially.

>>77351785
Maybe so, but FM is still the winner. Shame they refuse to get additional league licenses. They just let people mod it.

>The former Caen man is said to want to complete his move before Monaco face Paris-Saint Germain in Morocco tomorrow in the Trophee des champions.

>>
>>77354308
he can't tackle nor defend in general
>>
>>77354320
Can't he? Seems like he'd have a good physique to do so. Alongside Wanyama it wouldn't be so bad. Wanyama would provide most of the defensive ability but Barkley would still be better (in a defensive sense) than someone like Fabregas or Cazorla.
>>
>>77354335

while he's obviously a quality player, he's also a victim of the whole "Brazilian football must have a star player" meme. There will always be one of the Brazilian national team who is hyped up as better than the rest, mostly for commercial purposes, and it just so happens that Neymar is currently the best Brazilian player, so he's being vaunted as one of the top three in the world

Don't you remember the years where it was too barren for them to pull it off well, but they still did it anyway? There's always one Brazilian they try and make the new brand

Barcelona and Brazil forward Neymar, 25, has agreed a five-year contract with Paris St-Germain and could complete a 220m euros (£197m) move to the French side next week.

(Mirror)

Monaco are adamant they will not sell Thomas Lemar, despite Arsenal making their third bid - of about £45m - for the 21-year-old France midfielder. (Telegraph)

Manchester City will offer Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, 28, a deal worth £320,000 a week to join them this summer. (Mail)

Wew. What's wrong with the world? The guy hasn't even proven himself in the PL.

Also, doesn't he realise this is career suicide? Nobody will hear about anything he does until the later stages of the CL (if PSG even make it that far).

Seriously, who follows the French league? Couldn't even tell you how the likes of di Maria are getting on. If they've flopped or if they're walking it. No idea. No clue. Nobody does.

Pretty sure everyone said the same last year. And the year before that.

>m-muh Mangala
>best defense in the world!!!
2 years later they've replaced every single one of them.

Also, Walker is overrated. Not even as good as Shaw as a fullback and Shaw isn't anything special.
Mendy is an absolute unknown, could be good, could be horrific.
Stones is a disaster. I don't think there's anyone who will dispute this. Absolute liability. Seeing his name in the starting line-up puts smiles on the faces of opposition fans.
A new goalkeeper, in the Premier league, we all know how well that went last time for Pep....

Oh and a decent midfielder who performed solidly for a third-rate, third-world club in a mickey mouse league. I'd be surprised if he was a regular starter to be honest, but you never know...

I'd say there's a solid chance City won't finish in the top 4. Their front 4 has the potential to be great but they are a disaster in every other area of the pitch.
>>
>>77355830
>the top 3 is very, very competitive even if the rest of the league is shit
Monaco last year and who? They were the only team to properly challenge P$G since they became relevant. Lyon maybe that one year but they never stood a chance

>I'd say there's a solid chance City won't finish in the top 4
I agree with all your earlier posts, anon. But to claim that a far stronger City side this year won't make top 4 seems very unlikely, bar a spectacular disaster.

All of their signings are a huge improvements on what they had (Kolarov, Jesus Navas, Clichy etc). It's true that maybe their signings won't all perform as well as their worth, but their attacking ability is as good, if not better, than anyone else's. So I can't see anything other than a top 2/3 finish
>>
>>77355789
Marseille, Lille and Lyon have got their hands on both cash and good players, Monaco might go through this transfer window with a good part of their last season's roster and Nice is doing à good job.

I'd say Ligue 1 will be better than Eplel within two to three years

PSG and Monaco would struggle to finish in the top 6 in England.

It's one thing having an adrenaline-fueled European adventure. It's another altogether to deal with the consistent grind of playing Swansea, Everton, and West Ham once or twice every single week for months and months.

They aren't comparable to Real Madrid and Barcelona in anyway. Or even Atletico Madrid who are streets ahead.

The top French league has more in common with the SPL than it does La Liga.

Face facts. It's a very low quality league, with very little exposure/worldwide interest. Players go there for an easy ride and to get paid loads of money.

I'm confident players like Zlatan regretted moving there and wasting so many of their best years there.

Don't see how it's any different to moving to China or LA Galaxy.

For Neymar, a player just getting into his peak and still early on in his career it seems like a fucking retarded move. I can't imagine what they must be paying him to go there. Must be £1 million + per week.

It's a shame for the sport. I want to see the best players playing in the best competitions in the best leagues and for the biggest clubs.

I don't want to see the likes of Neymar and Messi playing for Dubai FC, Shanghai or PSG.

Face facts, when Tottenham and City were drawn against Monaco they expected this was an easy ride into the next stage of the CL. Only to be humiliated home and away.

Face facts, throughout the history of English football we have lost because of our arrogance, every 2-4 years we go into International tournaments thinking we are the only ones that can play football there because of the PL Myth / Hype

The only way to know whose league has the best team is the europeans cup. And English performed pretty poorly.
Sure, the EPL is the most competitive league in the world but that doesn't mean they have the best team in Europe.
Players now want to win the Champions league and they can't do that in an english team

Neymars entire game revolves around him drawing fouls for free kicks.
What a joke of a sport if some inbred arabs are going to burn 100+m on him in a 1 team league.

>>77356196
Every other league is structured differently so European games aren't a burden. In PL the fact there is no winter break like in Spain means that PL teams have to play throughout the winter in the league and domestic cups AND Europe. There is a reason being in Europe is considered a major drain on teams.

Barca, Madrid, PSG and so on, playing in the PL, would do less well in the CL if they had to follow this schedule. This is a undeniable fact. When Barca schedule friendlies or the old Inter Toto Cup whatever it's called now sometimes in the winter shows this.

4. Yes, when Leicester won the PL they were among Europe's elite. Maybe not at the top of the tree, but certainly up there. How could they not be?
5. Possession does not equal dominance. Possession does not equal skill. Possession does not equal winning. Possession does not indicate anything other than possession of the football. 3. A one-off game means absolutely fuck all. You seem to STILL not understand this simple concept. In fact, you actually used an example to prove what I was saying perfectly and dismiss what you were saying.

So the World cup final means nothing? The CL final a mere folly? Its better to beat Watford and West Ham twice than perform in a one game that determines ur whole season?

Thats why they're not part of the European elite, that's why they could never win the PL a few years in a row, or the CL, because anybody can play that Football, its not based on skill, but on effort.

>Never said they were
Your logic is based on the fact they are.
>Well actually if you payed attention Shakespeare was going back to the tactics from two years ago that won them the title so year there's that.

Absolutely not the same thing. Not even an argument. That's like saying Moyes trying to copy Sir Alex Ferguson means that 2013 and 2015 Manchester United were basically the same teams. Bizarre reasoning.

>So the World cup final means nothing? The CL final a mere folly? Its better to beat Watford and West Ham twice than perform in a one game that determines ur whole season?
What? Who mentioned the World Cup? For what it's worth I don't give a shit about the WC and only watch the semi-finals/final if I can be bothered.

But yes, it's a better test to win out over 50 games than 8 games. Obviously. If you win the CL and finish 6th in the League you're not really champions of Europe, are you? You're likely not even the best team in your own city.

>Because the PL is hoofball shite
Your problem is that you think there is a correct style of football to be played. This is false. The correct style of football is the one that wins games and trophies. If parking the bus with 5% possession and launching the ball to a Heskey wins you games and trophies, then that's the 'best' style of football at that time. Survival of the fittest.

>Thats why they're not part of the European elite, that's why they could never win the PL a few years in a row, or the CL, because anybody can play that Football, its not based on skill, but on effort.
Beyond stupid. See above. The best style of football is the one that wins matches. You can be as skillful and as graceful as Messi or Maradona or Zidane, your entire starting 11 can all have the ability of these players. But it means fuck all if at the end of the day you score less than your opponents.

>Hope that clears it up for you
It clears up the fact you're a fucking idiot.

>Some styles of Football are intrinsically better than others, although all styles can beat each other, depending on player effort

Absolute bollocks. The best style is the one that wins games.

If you're in a league of 19 possession-based teams the effective counter-attacking side will win at a canter.

If you're in a league with 19 teams stacked full of midgets, the team that plays balls into the box for target men will win it.

If you're in a league full of 6'2 brutes who are strong and powerful but slow, a team like Pep's Barcelona will walk it.

I can't believe people actually think there's a 'right' style of football. Or that some styles of football are 'better' than others. Madness. It's like you are devoid of any logical ability whatsoever and you get all your football knowledge from listening to Sun reporters.

Yeah but I'm so many of those games they're winning by good margins early on and can take their foot off the pedal.

Most PL games are much more competitive and physical with less referee protection so teams visibly burn out as the season progresses.

Also the reffing is so different in CL and EL compared to PL that even home games feel like away games. Frankly it's like the EU, the whole thing just doesn't mix well with us.

The real problem with english teams is that they are awful at pressing, so they run around a lot for nothing, and when they play against european sides that actually know what they are doing, they get overwhelmed.
That's the core issue more than the number and position of games.

>>
>>77356968
The problem has nothing to do with youths but to do with the fact those English players aren't used by top teams. Or more specifically, used well. It doesn't help with have Southgate in charge who has no idea what he's doing. I dunno what the solution is. If we went on paper, forwards of Kane and Vardy should have raped it up last year; but they suck. England need to stick to one team and one formation constantly and if the formation doesn't work, switch it. So train 3 formations and switch on the go.
