McGregor is giving up 90% of his arsenal to only throw punches against the greatest defensive boxer of all time.

You are greatly overestimating a boxers ability outside of boxing. They have never defended a kick before, never stuffed a take down before, and have 0 ground game to speak of not to mention the size of the gloves doesn't allow as much defense for a style like Floyds. Also add in the fact that the Philly shell is only viable because of boxing rules.
