Why do all the Filipinos like root for the Warriors? As a Filipino from Dallas I go for my Mavs and if I really want to root for a winning team rather than my dying team I'll go for the Rockets or OKC because they're not that far from Dallas but I'll never be shallow enough to be some generic panface Filipino cheering for the Warriors for god knows why

Hell, the only basketball game i've ever attended was the day after christmas 2011 when the warriors played the bulls at oracle and derrick rose got more cheers than curry or ellis and half the arena were bulls fans

no they weren't

as good as the 80's lakers were they played in a rock bottom terrible western conference. It wasn't till the late 80s the western conference started to get a couple of stronger teams going. Furthermroe those lakers, playing in a shit conference never won 70 games. They also lost a ton of nba finals. granted the 87 win over the celtics was mind blowing (that was a better celtics team)

The 00 lakers were great, and frankly thanks to prime Shaq (more than any other reason) no one could match up with them. But they also benefitted from a "down" league in general. There were no serious competitors to them appart from the Kings... post shaq they had to contend with the Suns, Mavs and Spurs, in the west and the Pistons and later in the decade the Celtics. The post Shaq lakers were not as dominant as the Shaq Lakers, they were very good in 07, but that team would have been bitch slapped by the shaq lakers.
