Nah. What killed WEC and is slowly killing motorsports is corporativism and bullshitism. No one can watch a whole F-E race, but because of green marketing, car makers are switching their focus into that shit.

WEC was supposed to be the revival of the glory days of sports car racing like in the Group C World Sportscar Championship days. lmp1 wasn't supposed to end like this. Maybe Le Mans and sportscar racing was better off before the WEC?

so it's really about VAG dieselgate emissions, and cartel/collusion corporate scandals is why they left. so now there's a higher chance Toyota leaves also and lmp2 will be left as the top class. Unless the non-H lmp1 cars can be not shit. We haven't heard anything about the Ginetta lmp1 since it was announced.
