Grosjean should be fucking thankful to Eric Boullier for not firing the shit out of him after 2012.

Especially when he was involved in another incident after he "learned from his mistake" and did the same thing in Suzuka.

He was only flattered by the fact that he on occasion outqualified Gimi who isn't even a good qualifier in the first place. And Gimi's post-Lotus performances seem to suggest that at least the 2012 Lotus was a car of such a caliber that a stronger and more consistent driver could probably have dragged it to a fucking WDC, but then again that season was all over the place with the team power levels.

But how the fuck does Grosjean STILL have a career? He hasn't done anything impressive in forever, isn't particularly better than Magnussen, seems like a difficult personality to deal with, literally told Niki Lauda that he "doesn't need advice from him" and refuses to change anything about his driving, which results in the massive braking problems he's been having. Quite possibly the least likable driver on the entire grid.

Come on, hype aside we all know this is what's going to happen. Plus he's going to be compared against Hulkenberg which is going to look bad especially when he isn't as fast as him, as Hulkenberg isn't a hugely highly flashy or super highly rated driver even though he is generally just very good. Even if Kubica does well in the tests, has he actually raced against other drivers since his injury? As far as I know he's only done rally and testing, so no actual real racing experience, which could prove to be quite problematic, especially knowing how difficult it can be to overtake and whatnot in these generation cars.

That being said I truly do hope Kubica does come back and I hope I'm wrong but I don't think I will be.

It's probably my 3rd season watching Indycar and I've really come to like it a lot. Am I turning into a burger?

I honestly think it's pretty funny when people make fun of oval racing because its just "turning left". There's as much of an "art" or a specific skill-set to it as there is to F1 or any other racing series IMO, and some of the risks those guys take seems so much more intense than anything seen in F1. F1 has been effectively destroyed by DRS because there is no point whatsoever to do a daring move because if you're that close, you can just hold back and wait until the next DRS zone for your FIA approved designated pass.

I'll never understand how Codemasters managed to make Dirt 2 on Xbox 360 look amazing for the console, Dirt Rally and Dirt 3 look pretty incredible (I like the look of Dirt Rally perhaps a bit more) with all the damage modeling, dirt and mud effects and overall environments, and then make the F1 games look like the blandest shit imaginable.

F1 2016 looks really unpleasant IMO, it's just so flat looking and the weird sheen and shine the cars, tires and track has looks so unnatural.

At the very least I hope they'll at least improve the AI a bit so that they might actually for once back out of a suicide move/getting overtaken or show some sort of spatial awareness when being raced against. I swear the AI in these games has gotten worse. In F1 2013 the AI was pretty passive and too easy to defend against, but at least they didn't take you out every other time you try to pass someone. There also seems to be a really strange disparity in the difficulty levels when it comes to qualifying and the actual race. The quali is IMO really tough even on the moderately hard settings but the race pace of the AI is then terrible and you can routinely make a 10th to 1st in 2 laps progress happen if someone doesn't take you out in the process.

Maybe I'm just a shit qualifier but yea, seems odd to me. I guess it's hard to pump out these games every year but they really could be so much better than they are, especially after Dirt Rally where Codemasters proved that they can actually make something decent.

Because the studio that makes the F1 games (Birmingham) is different from the studio that makes the rally games (Southam) and those two are different from the new studio that was set up for the former Evolution guys.
