Feel like wickes.jpg might be a bit harsh when you look at his twitter, some of the other pro's could take a leaf out of his book on there and not cry about being trolled (Lewis) or get involved in slapfights (Gando/Wright/Mason)

And that D16 ends Round 1 and saw all but one seed advance with relative ease.

The all-Australian derby saw Simon Whitlock dominate his countryman Kyle Anderson with a great display of finishing. The Original got into the match with a nice 105 but the Wizard was wonderful on tops, hitting it to win 60% of his legs. Whitlock's biggest out was a 119 for 7-2 as Kando couldn't get down to a finish, only having 9 attempts in the entire match. Some wobbles on the Whitty finishing saw him concede three straight legs but was never really troubled.

Adrian Lewis's return from back surgery saw him edge out Steve Beaton in a tight affair. Both men were below their peaks, averaging around 95, and went back and forth - Aidey hitting a 110 for 3-1 - until the Bronzed Adonis's rare failure to convert a 69 saw Snackpot regain the key break and despite a Beaton 100, couldn't close the gap. This wasn't vintage Lewis but was more than enough.

Michael van Gerwen all but destroyed Stephen Bunting in a 10-4 whacking. MVG went 7-0 up thanks to Bunt's failure to convert key finishes and then fell asleep, with the Bullet hitting a 102 and surviving 3 match darts before a crushing 160 from Autism. Some scrappy finishing from MVG dropped his average below 3 figures, but his first 7 legs should strike fear into the rest of the field.

Rob Cross ended Ian White's first round perfection with another professional performance from the rising star. Neither man really got going until leg 9 where Cross went 3 ahead and then smashed in 125 for a 7-4 lead; despite a number of big finish attempts from Dabmond, he just couldn't get the two breaks back off a very impressive debutant who will surely give Lewis a scare on Wednesday.
