It's 102 degrees in Houston, I've been watching them on TV like a responsible fan, since I was 7.

But please, tell me more about how real fans only exist if the stadium is packed.

I'm sorry but who's in the Hall of Fame? You? No, you're a fucking sweaty man child frothing at the mouth over "triggering" Astros fans for no apparent reason when in reality, your team probably has never had a player like him and the closest would be Michael Young, whose hit total is 1000 less. You probably have never heard of Michael Young until now because your first sport is handegg. Once again, suck my balls.

Fuck that shit man I'd rather watch from home. Remind you, we have little to no public transportation in Houston so drivers are always fucking up on the road. The 2 hour roundtrip commute for me is just on a good day. We're not like the east coast where public transportation is convenient and you don't live 25-30 miles away from your home ballpark.

>>
>>77268203
>>77268214

far east king county. Too far away for easy metro access, no light rail close to me. I live in the absolutely worst area for public transportation. most of the games I go to are at 7 too. so by the time I get into Seattle, I get stuck in the evening gridlock. if it's an early game, I can normally make it in under two hours.

Lately, I've been driving to park & rides that have straight shot lines to downtown, because I'm just sick of the drive. it will save me about 15-20 minutes, but I have to pay $5 for the round trip.
>>
>>77268248
That's smart, anyways I purposely get to games early to avoid any rush. Most of the time you'll want to arrive way before rush hour even begins. Now sitting in Seattle rush hour is asking for death nowadays. Fucking influx of new people already clogging up poorly planned roads that the (((city council))) refuses to fix.
>>
>>77268248
That's the way to go about it. No reason to drive all the way to the stadium and pay to park when you can park at a bus station or Angle Lake and ride on in.

These goddamn dirty foreigners could take the bus or the train, but they fucking refuse to. They grew up in Cali or Texas or Colorado or wherever, and have been driving for ten years, they don't know any other way.

It took me over a year of living here before I even tried to get out of the habit of driving, but now I fucking love the bus & train. So much cheaper n' easier.
>>
>>77268302
Oh absolutely. Gridlock has been a problem for the past decade now. I remember before I was a teen and the drives home from Kingdome/Safeco were easy as pie.

I used to be a trucker so I'm used to driving long distances but you save yourself a ton by not sitting in gridlock. Most cities with advanced public transportation have it better, US Public and Mass Transportation in general is vastly inferior to other countries, and it's a shame no one gives a shit. I've been to various other countries and I was wowed.
>>
TFW KC is so sprawled out with such a small population density that you can drive from the Nice suburbs to the ballpark with almost zero hassle
>>
>>77268331
mass transportation is the way of the future, not just for Seattle, but for every major metropolitan center. There are simply too many cars on the road, and it's only going to get worse.

You can save so much money by just buying a bus pass as apposed to buying a car, keeping it maintained, buying gas, etc. Some people may not like it, but shit is getting unsustainable. I hope I will be able to move closer to the city one day, so I can make use of the buses and light rail more. It's just so much more hassle free to catch a bus to Safeco and back.

>South Side of Chicago

>>77268378
The problem is our state and city governments want to make Seattle a major metropolitan center and it's only going to worsen the situation as you specified. I moved out of the city last year but if you're within a light rail or Sounder station you should be in luck. Eastside commuters probably have it the worst anyways. ST3 is coming though so it should help them out. I voted against it though so I'm aware my tax money is going to this.

>>
>>77268442
I voted for ST3, just because I thought it was a necessity right now. Normally a steer clear of the big taxpayer construction projects, because we all know how Big Bertha went down. The only thing that sucks is that it will take forever to complete. By the time the eastside line gets fully completed, I might actually have a gf.
>>
>>77267999
aren't you excited that they want to reconstruct I-45 and 59 making it even more difficult to reach the ballpark

also the tickets are only expensive because faggots are hitting up that bandwagon
>>
>>77268530
>The only thing that sucks is that it will take forever to complete
Exactly why I voted against. It would have been necessary maybe to extend it to Bellevue and West Seattle considering they're the hotspots of who is fucked regarding commutes but the current Link/Sounder is fine, expanding it for a hefty cost is just meaningless when there were more important issues at stake such as fixing the roads to prevent gridlock and effectively combatting the homeless crisis here rather than just throwing needless gibs at them only to see our tax money go to waste while more tents keep popping up everywhere.

Yeah that's always the main misconception of that area. There's been great strides to gentrify some surrounding areas too like east of it in Bronzeville. But it isn't 100% of course so there are still some potentially dangerous areas, especially at night. Just got to know to avoid those. Still though not as bad as the actual South Chicago that you hear all about like Englewood and whatnot.

Here's a violent crime map from 2012 to give you an idea.

Best team in the AL and nobody comes to see it. Sad shit.
>>
>>77268725
Could be worse. Look at the White Sox. Their stadium is smack dab in the middle of the city, public transportation out the ass. Right next to major freeway to boot. And they can barely fill up half their stadium even though they are practically giving the tickets away.

This is the same team that during the year before, during, and the year after they won the Worlds Eries. The Cubs STILL beat them in attendance when they had a losing record every year.

It's really not as bad as /mlb/ puts it since we've had the third highest increase in average attendance, and that's only after the Braves' new stadium and the Rockies.

Just looking at a raw attendance numbers while ignoring differences in the size of metropolitan areas, ballpark capacities, etc. is about as retarded as just looking at batting averages.

It wasn't 10k seats compared to when the sellout streak happened and a ~43,000 seating capacity is unsustainable outside of bigger markets. In addition, a lot has changed economically and in terms of what interests fans in the last 20+ years.

You also don't know fuck all if you're citing Columbus as a city that is wholly interested in professional sports franchises outside of the Buckeyes.

That doesn't answer my question. How many home runs did Aaron Judge hit that were shorter than Kaufman Stadium's dimensions? For example, how many left field home runs
This chart seems to indicate that 4-5 home runs would not be counted if all hit balls were at Kaufman stadium, not counting balls that may have gone deeper than these dimensions, but resulted in an out

It literally does answer your question, he would hit 15 home runs at this point in Kaufmann. Field dimensions and porch height aren't the only thing that affects home run proclivity. Elevation, atmosphere, and park dimensions affecting wind currents and crap all can affect hitters abilities to hit hrs by altering how far balls carry and retain velocity etc

I'm not trying to downplay Judge's hitting this season, when park adjusted he's still the best qualifying hitter in baseball. However he's not the best home run hitter.

capping everyone ITT so i can use you in my humiliation collage 2017 summer edition part dos.

britton and yu are on a plane as we speak to Los Angeles. Justing Wilson is cleaning the shit from his locker as well.

you can't even stop the dodgers in a rebuilding season.

imagine being so assblasted about Los Angeles that you begin to literally SEETH through your teeth at the thought that the BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL is REBUILDING with a TOP 3 FARM which is still growing by the season.

only the yankees can rebuild as efficiently as the dodgers except the dodgers dont lose games or go through cold-streaks and slumps.

dodgers will still win 125+ games in a rebuilding season, let that sink in
