Were there really casuals who thought this game was over?
>yfw Super Bowl 51 produced the most inspiring photograph of all time
It was the first handegg game I've watched
Literally turned the TV off after the halftime show thinking the game was over
Yes.
Fundamentally, if a team has a lead like that they're supposed to run the ball exclusively to bleed out the clock taking no risks with the ball whatsoever, and the only points that the opposing team will score are "Garbage time" points that mean nothing in the grand scheme of the game.
The Falcons had won. Grady Jarrett was going to be MVP. And they fucking blew it because of Kyle Shanahan's arrogance.
>>77255276
Not like the Patriots were thrashing them on run defense either. Could have easily had some more dump offs and screens
>>77255223
Poor bastard thought he made it big with an iconic photo, was probably thinking about all the newspaper headlines and stories written with his photo on top.
Now... like tears, in rain...
I went to bed at halftime for work in the morning. At least I got to see the highlights without knowing the result.
I was rooting for the Falcons but when the Pats got within one score and a 2 point conversion I started rooting for the comeback. Still just unbelievable that it happened.
>>77255374
Filthy bandwagoning faggot.
Was there any doubt?
>>77255414
Once it was 28-20, definitely not.
>>77255223
I can only imagine how upset Brady haters must have been having to delete all those photos which would have been used for months worth of shitposting from this game alone.
>>77255276
>>77255300
the biggest mistake atlanta made was taking that penalty and sack when they were in FG range with a chance to put the nail in the coffin
instead they got cute, had to punt, and left the slightest of openings.
regular season? almost never matters. against Brady/Bellicheck coached team in the SB? woops
>>77255452
Seeing how they lost the AFC Championship game a year before on a failed 2-point conversion there was doubt for reasonable people. So shut up.
>that legendary play by Julio is basically all for nothing since they lost
>>77255547
>comparing the 26th ranked Falcons defense who were exhausted from being on the field to the #1 defense in the league in the Broncos
Don't be fucking retarded
>>77255563
Dear retard, the Broncos' #1 ranked D left Gronk in one on one coverage with a LB who easily beat. Brady must have assumed he would be doubled at least and never looked at him. That's how fast goal line plays happen. The greatest reader of coverages in the history of the sports didn't notice the most dominant red zone player perhaps of all time was uncovered.
To say there was no doubt the Pats would convert is just gay hyperbole. They ran that same play against the Steelers the game prior to SB51 and Hogan dropped the ball. There's no point in hyperbole of this kind. It does make you anymore of a bandwagon fan. So again, shut up please.
>8:30 left
>Atlanta up 16pts
>at their own 30 yd line
>3rd and 1
>SHOTGUN PASS
>Matty Ice gets blasted off the edge
>fumbles
>turnover
kek try having a run game
>>77255223
>>yfw Super Bowl 51 produced the most inspiring photograph of all time
Photographs are the twentieth century, videos are the new millennium.
>less than 4 minutes left, in FG range
>try to go for passing play
>get sacked
>next play lineman makes retarded tackle
>out of FG range again
kek
>dive at the ball to help break up the play
>inadvertently keep it in the air
meme magic
>>77255215
Not a single Falcons fan thought that game was over. Atlanta fucking sucks at everything.
>>77255729
since the ball was tipped shouldnt Neal have just tried to smoke Edelman instead of trying to catch the ball?
ausfag here, I was mad as fuck watching a blowout game and fell asleep a few minute into the 3rd quarter, I woke up to;
>GOAT GOAT GOAT
>APOLOGIZE RIGHT
>DID WE JUST WITNESS THE BEST SUPERBOWL EVER
>BRADY GOAT BRADY GOAT
I haven't woken up to news that good in a long long time, everyone trying to nitpick and discredit plays made it so much better too
>tfw Edelman tells Brady he's going to do it "for your mom bro"
>they think they can find a picture with more talent
>>77255761
Pass interference
tons of blame to go around on the Atlanta side, but I might put the most on Sanu taking a really fucking dumb and unnecessary offensive holding
>>77255832
ELITE post
>>77255842
no P.I. on a tipped ball, you can destroy Edelman like he's a blocker
a corner/safety probably always wants to go for the pick on instinct but the situational play there is to hit Edelman
>>77255872
>"I just wanted a challenge"
>>77255865
You could still get a call for defenseless receiver.
i wonder how much differently it would have played out if Blount didnt fumble and Pats scored first
nobody scored in the first quarter and Pats were marching to start the 2nd, already in range for at least 3
Nah, happened a couple years before that m8.
>first pick six by brady in a super bowl
>was just trying to make the game more challenging
heh, nothing personnel Atlanta
>>77255885
It's a good point the guy made but...
>>77255761
It was 1st down, so no. INT probably wins the game for ATL. Incomplete would have been no big deal. 3 more downs to get 10 yards and they had so much time on the clock they ended up getting the ball back after they tied it.
It was a great play but people try to act like it was win or lose on that play - it was not (unless it was picked off)
Even Trump thought it was over
>>77255849
>Sanu
When was this? The holding call that knocked them out of FG range was against an offensive lineman.
>>77255938
What a fucking loser.
>WE GOTTA PLAY HARDER
>WE GOTTA PLAY TOUGHER
>HARDER, TOUGHER, EVERYTHING
>EVERYTHING WE GOT
>tom brady will never inspire you to a historic comeback
why even live
>>77255937
It IS a big deal because of the effort and concentration to keep that ball in play.
>>77255963
>you will never instill fear into the hearts of your enemies that are at a score advantage against you
"It's Tom Brady tho"
>>77255813
So fucking tired of having Edelman mic'd up. It was great when he was knocked loopy in SB49 and was telling everyone he loved them in between plays, but he's kind of a moron. They had fucking Blount and him. Blounts the guy who you see hugging whoever the camera is on after every win. He did a good job for us but god I'm glad that attention whore is gone. And yeah, anyone but Edelman mic'd up for SB 52 please.
Kyle Shanahan was so JUST after that game he fucked off to San Francisco
>>77255999
could tell Blunt was devastated after that fumble thinking he's costing his team the SB
>>77255968
Whatever you fucking gaylord I was talking about how meaningful it was in regard to the outcome of the game - and was pretty clear about that. Not whatever gay fantasies you have about professional male athletes.
Jesus fucking Christ.
>>77255215
Not casuals, only optimists.
>make an iconic, legacy-defining throw and catch with 5 minutes left in the Super Bowl
Tom Brady: "not so fast"
>>77256052
*holds down your path*
>>77256090
Blount:
>that was an amazing catch
>every superbowl we done played there's always that one catch, you know what im saying
*blocks your path*
>Leave and think its over
>Go on computer
>Check score online
>28-20
Back watching tv.
>Considering going to bed if Pats didn't score on their current drive
>They get TD to make it 28-9
>Joke with the lads in whatsapp that it's game on now
>Later on in the 4th, again considering going to bed if Pats don't score at the end of the drive
>They get FG to make it 28-12
>Decide to see what happens at the end of the Falcons drive
>all hell breaks loose
