I'm concerned by the lack of progress. The game costs $50 every year and it's mostly just squad updates people are paying for. It's bullshit. It's become like fifa. Stagnant, no competition, no reason to do any more than the bare minimum. They have to start making real progress with the game. Do something. Playing the same game year after year is just boring.
Let me give an example. I want to create a tactic with a play making centre back. I want this centre back to time his run and move up to overload the midfield, when the time is right. With this current way of making a tactic, there would have to be a special position called "play making centre back". Well, I've been waiting for that position to become available for years. Every year I download the demo to see if there's something new with the tactic. Fuck all. This is fucking bullshit. This way doing thing is too limited. There needs to be a lot more freedom when creating tactics.

This is why it's important to choose a university that is known for being very maths-heavy. Mine is known for that and has the reputation of blowing the fuck out of people who initially wanted to get into a business program but failed. People who hire students hopefully know about it too, which should add some credibility to my degree. I know for a fact that people in academia at least appreciate it when a student comes from my school.

Take a look at the numbers of this test, which is mandatory at the end of the first year. People got exposed left and right. This particular subject was not even hard (unlike the maths courses, or the econometrics course), so it was really surprising to see the results. I'll never forget about it tho - me and my friend were literally the one with good results, and 31 of the 35 others failed.

I was also pissed off at Miles' copout for not integrating stats like expected goals and expected assists. Said that they cannot include since there is no universal model for determining it. My point was that the reason they don't do it is that either takes too much effort, or that they don't want the flaws of their system to be exposed. It could allow them to adjust the way goals are scored in the game to loosely fit around xG. The temptation to play orthodox wingers, spam low crosses from deep, and have my striker score 55 goals in a season always bugs me. There are opportunities to improve the match engine with fairly simple and popular stats like xG and packing, but Miles is not interested.

Yes, it influences the CA level of your youth players and is probably more important than anything else.
You can get your players to develop fast even with shit facilities if you give them enough playtime/loan them out/if they have enough professionality. If they start out at a really low level though, all hope is lost from the beginning, because they'll never ever recover from really low CA even with the best facilities (and they'll be so shit in their youth that you cannot give them playtime).

Youth Coaching is extremely cheap and also the most important improvement.

I was among his greatest critics. Didn't rate him at all. He was extremely overhyped, merely because he could hold up as a 17-year old - without showing any glimpses of brilliance or noteworthy skill to his game. His only strength was that he seemed very mature for his age, but I could not see him be a great player - not all players develop linearly, and Pulisic had no indication of having anything about him that would turn him into a great player, so I expected him to peak very early and not develop much after being a useful player early on (pretty much low PA, but high CA for his age was what I thought).

But man, in the last 3 months of last season he made a huge leap. He's suddenly become a goalthreat now, and that's all a young player needs to go from decent to special imo. His playstyle and actions are much more focussed on creating goal chances, his passes became dangerous, his runs are much more intelligent, and he's just become an all-round great attacking player with a lot of footballing IQ.

I prefer games where certain roles are OP rather than entire basic strategies. I can live with CWBa/WBa/RPMs being OP, I can simply choose not to use them or play shitloads of different formations that incorporate them. In FM16, you HAD to play wide. In FM17, you HAVE to play narrow. It limits you so much if you want any sort of success, its fucking stupid.

Its more of a bad overall defense situation imo. The CWBs need to be protected well, so if they themselves are bad (defensively) you need an absolute GOAT CB duo and a great DM to cope. If the CWBs are average you'll leak goals and not even get enough in offense in return.
