Rate my prediction for Hungary/Spa
>"Sainz has a contract with Red Bull and there are two years left on that contract," said Horner. "We value him as an asset and an asset has a value. So if there was a desire from another team to have him, or for him to go somewhere else, something that has a value has to have a price attached.
>"If somebody was prepared to make an offer, we would, of course, consider it. But it would need to have a significant value attached because we have invested in Carlos. We are not just going to give an asset away."
>>77177296
Why would TR let Sainz go to Renault in season?
Kvyatt gets demoted or suspended and Gasly takes his seat
>>77177255
From 19th. Not a bad showing overall
>>77177340
>Kvyatt gets demoted or suspended
This is a genuine possibility.

To be honest red bull remember their mistake when they lost vettel and had to get kvyat straight to red bull right after vergne btfo, so I don't think they will do that again
Words cannot express how much I want "Minimal Talking" BOT to overtake "Massively Whinging" HAM in the championship. Here's hoping next race is a DNF for HAM.

How was the race on TV lads?
Rating out of 10?
Was there and haven't had the chance to watch the full race yet, seemed quite decent after the borefest that was Austria.
>>77178460
I realised if I turn sky italia's coverage to 'original language' I get no commentary just the sound of the cars and the driver radio. It was the best coverage experience I've had in years. I mean the middle of the race was dull but the start and finish were fun

Defo better than Austria, bit boring in the middle but a good start and a good ending

>>77178588
>The smell of burnt tyre and fuel is something that every F1 fan needs to experience.
I've smelt the burning pirellis when Wobbler (also a then largely unknown Daniel Ricciardo) came to Perth for a demonstration run and ripped some skids at Barbagallo. Also the ear piercing shriek of the V8s.
Magical. Would love to catch a grand prix live one day.
>>77178537
bring Buemi back
>>77178622
Weird that even though it's been my dream to go to a GP since I started watching (at the age of 3 now 20), I was going into it thinking 'welp this may be a little boring', I walked out feeling like the ticket I spent £100 on was worth; Every. Single. Penny.
The support races were interesting (GP3, GP2, Porsche Mobil 1), the Williams/Renault 40 year anniversary parade was cool, and the Red Arrows were absolutely mental. I know /f1/ isn't a fan of Hamilton but the atmosphere when he was on parade and ripped out the Union Flag was rather magical to experience, and the race itself was phenomenal trackside. I can imagine that it being Monza the experience would be very similar.
>>77178653
I was rather impressed by the V6's. After hearing such nagative feedback about the sound of them live they do have a unique sound which is rather enjoyable.
Though, it makes me wish I heard the V8's and V10's.
you know what, /f1/ is really boring during non-GP days
the fact that I'm still here though really shows what I've done with my life
>>77178677
Hamilton not being popular is just a meme. Many 4chan users are loser neets with no friends, on here with the use of memes they feel they can fit in with the same in jokes like they see the normal people do. >>77178677
Tbh the v8s are just really noisy but uninteresting, the v10/12s have a lot more uh music to them. Also they weren't often smashing the rev limiter unlike the limited v8s, which is a bonus.

They hired Bob Bell (Renault in mid-2000s), Geoff Willis (Honda, RBR) , Aldo Costa (Ferrari), and already had Brawn (Benneton, Ferrari, Brawn) by mid-2012, and had convinced Paddy Lowe to leave McLelren alongside Poois

Well on the radio its obviously to try and minimise the penalties FIA gives out. Or if you look at Seb he does it to try and put pressure on the FIA to give a penalty that would benefit him.
Think about soccer players when they know they've fouled someone or when they dive and how they protest to the refs afterwards. Same principle.

>>77181768
I don't think F1 drivers have a full picture of any on track event. Anything that happens happens so fast their perceptions of the events are very wrong. I'm sure Seb didn't realise how far he pushed Max off the track when he complained about Max doing the same for example.
Also stewards still end up not knowing what the fuck happened sometimes. Take Nico and Lewis at Barcelona last year, they came back with no ruling at all for a fucking huge crash.
>>77181820
Talking more about Kvyat actually, in the onboard you can clearly see he just loses control of the car and crash into Sainz and he blames it on him.
I also think stewards, like everyone, understood what happened in Barcellona they just decided not to punish anyone maybe for the same reason of Baku

Its the meme reply because Senna fan boys can't have a reasonable conversation about it.
During the season with the car he is best known for driving he wasn't even the best driver in that car. Senna fan boys then go on about how that's not how the championship was scored so senna still deserves that championship. However that's not what people mean when they say that, they don't say Senna didn't deserve that championship they say that Prost was better that year and the results and total points prove that.
Prost > Senna
Though no one can change your mind, you have already decided your unchanging view based on feelings not results and facts.
>>77185184
>results and total points prove that.
lmao. Prove what?
Senna is simple faster. End of discussion.
>>77185209
Prost was more consistent and had better results which scored more total points. Being faster is not all there is to driving. Being the faster driver doesn't make you the better driver or else Senna would have scored more points and had better results wouldn't he?
>>77184098
Ah, I must have forgotten that the laws of physics dictate that a driver who wins 10 races but retires from the rest due to mechanical issues while leading is less deserving of the championship than a driver who wins 10 races but is woefully slow in the rest, managing to pick up a measly 1 point across them, acquired due to the good fortune of the former driver's engine kicking the bucket
>>77185249

>>77185292
>>77185209

No, you half-wit. He sacrificed his qualifying positions so that he was faster than Ayrton during the race. This worked more than it failed.
Maybe it will interest you to learn that Honda supplied Ayrton with better engines than Alain during their time as teammates, because Senna was previously a Honda driver at Lotus and the Nips thought "wow, this guy is a fucking kamikaze and likes to drive into other cars with no regard for whether it breaks his own car".

Not really. If you put Senna and Prost on equally good modern cars like say a 2017 Mercedes W08, Senna is going to win 9/10 times.
Why? Because he is faster and more skilled driver, and now racing is more pure than ever.
Prost wouldn't be able to use any of his tricks, and it's not like he can overtake or defend any better. Good on him for managing to beat a better driver with all his tools but there is no denying who was purely the best racing driver.
If your definition of a good driver consists of things like mechanics and mind games than I agree, Prost was better, and so was Piquet

They were in equally good cars in 1988. Prost objectively performed better than Senna over that period.

maldonado was also a pretty fast too, but he was a fucking idiot, just like senna. Senna was a regular car destroyer, whining bitch who had no brains and happened to impress ron benis enough to get a drive there
Reminder that Senna cried like a bitch when Elio de Angelis was actually a competitive team mate
Reminder that Senna was afraid of fucking Derek Warwick being his team mate
Reminder that Senna only won his only WDC in the same car as Prost because of the retarded 11 best results rule
Reminder that Senna torpedoed into Prost could have easily killed him, himself and several spectators just because he was still butthurt about something that happened a year before
Reminder that a 23 year old Michael Schumacher in his first full season BTFO of Senna >le greatest ever
Reminder that like 90% of Senna's multiple crashes were because "lol muh mistake hehe"

Williams started out the year with the better car, as seen from Massa's qualifying performances, but had only one driver and Stroll a shit. Now Stroll seems to be settling in a bit better, but they've been outdeveloped by FI.
>>77188292
You forgot to mention that he did the 'crowding driver into pitwalls' thing a good 22 years before MSC did, at Portugal '88 against Prost, in an era when cars could still go up in balls of flame.
jolyon palmer is gonna win next race
r-right guys?
>>77188292
You didn't address the part where he feels that Senna was the best. All the facts and results in the world can't change his feelings.
>>77188292
Don't forget when Piquet BTFO out of SENSHIT when he said he was a better driver because he is still alive.

Only 5 million?
Surprising that Ferrari don't want Gimi to pay way more than that for his seat considering his form in recent years.

Thanks for being a far more rational South American country.
You* now remember when "meme driver" was a thing on /f1/

this is a meme that needs to die
when he as teammates with Grosjean no driver looked worse against his teammate than Maldonado did
he was slow, crashed and just a shitty driver overall

this is 4chan where people are obsessed with nationalism to the point it becomes retarded (I blame flags)

To be fair, Maldonaldo only got pole via Hamilton being penalised.

Bit naive, m8.
>>77188859
>Hamilton being penalised
Due to insufficient fuel, which means the car was underweight, thereby faster.
Completely fair and earned pole for Maldonado.
>>77184840
Champagne tier comedy my friend
>>77188855
>Hulkenberg
>pole positions: 0
What did he mean by this?
also you post stats in a sport that's about what car you have and how much shit does or does not happen to you
pic related is when Hülkenberg and Maldonado had the same car
now that's already very embarrassing, however, when you consider that Maldonado was already in his third season whereas Hülkenberg was in his 1st and that Maldonado is three years older which matters a lot during teenage years and early 20s then it really shows how god awful Maldonado was
