Buenos Aires has about 20 professionnal teams. Obviously not every club will have a huge stadium to play in. That being said, the stadium you posted OP has better atmosphere than any sports venue in north america.

There used to be lots of stadiums in the UK that could hold over 100k in the old days, attendance alone isn't that impressive if the stadium is a boring piece of shit, like The Big House in Michigan.
Pic related is Hampden Park in Glasgow, it could used to hold 150,000 people.

The rooftop seats are pretty cool and unique. I also like how the stadium is located right in the neighborhood, like any other business or store. Most stadiums in the US are far out in the suburbs and surrounded by miles and miles of parking lots...seems so soulless and artificial.
>>77163498
Yikes. Funny how third worlders flock to this thread to defend their dilapidated piles of shit. You have to remember, USA has incredibly based infrastructure, and third worlders find it difficult to even comprehend what sturdy, clean infrastructure looks like.

Likewise, Soldier Field could hold 100,000 people before the Chicago Bears moved in. They made changes that reduced capacity to 65,000 because so many seats were so far away from the playing field. The only reason the NFL stadiums obsess about them is because they don't share the revenue off of them. They share almost all regular ticket revenue so there's hardly any incentive to care about that.
This is why you always see so much emphasis put on luxury suites. Entire stadiums are tore down and built on taxpayer dime essentially so an owner can put another extra 100 luxury suites in.

The 10 kg heavier Dempsey knocked Carpentier out in round four.
>>77178183
>taxpayers
Pro sports, especially the NFL, is far more guilty of that than college football. The reason college football players can't get paid is because it has to fund 40 other athletic programs that hemorrhage money so little Brianna can play field hockey on a full ride because muh Title IX
Couldn't find a very good photo of my local stadium, but posting it anyway.
>>77178329
NFL uses public bonds for stadiums which are repaid. The majority of NCAA football programs lose money and so the football programs are funded in a round about way when shit tier state schools cut funding for academic programs in order to subsidize their sports because they think it help build "prestige." That's money that was given to schools, directly by the state (taxpayers) either through student loans, scholarships, or direct funding that universities are pissing away on sports.
If it seems like I'm bitter it's because my retarded university nearly went bankrupt funding their ass football team which drew less than 50% attendance even though it was FREE for students.

When your stadium causes a seismic shift
Good evening peasants.
How come no one here has posted the GOAT ballpark?
I think even the eurofags would like it, it's maximum comfy right in the city.

Kinda silly that in a city of 2 million the highest level of organized baseball is AA short-season.
But they still manage to pack the place most nights. Very cozy place to spend a summer evening.
Cowdenbeath's Central Park is unusual for the fact it has a stock car track circling the pitch.

Don't start this fight. Everyone flees Carter Finley like the Titanic if the Pack is down by double digits in the the third.

Outside of the Canucks Vancouver just doesn't seem like a sports town to me, I don't know if it's all the Chinese or what. Never in talks for an MLB team or a second shot at an NBA team, and no one supports the CFL team.
>>77164807
>(((US Bank))) Stadium
>>77181948
Most canucks games nowadays have empty seats on TV
it's not usually like this is other leaf cities, even teams with worse fans like toronto used to sell out every game when they were complete shit
>>77181833
Those mass executions they're going to host there will be A E S T H E T I C
>>77165997
And for sake of comparison, here's our rival stadium.
>>77181948
This town does tend to ride the bandwagon a bit. But the Canucks will always be #1 in town, even when they're absolute shit like the last two years. And you're right, the Lions are shit that nobody under 40 cares about. In 5 years I think it'll be clear that the Whitecaps will have eclipsed them as the #2 team in town.
I think the main reason you never hear about the NBA returning is because Seattle is still there. Also, the Grizzlies poisoned the basketball well pretty good when they left. Although I feel like it's been long enough that there's an entire generation that didn't go through the Grizzlies saga who'd be ready to support a team. The city's a lot more diverse and there's a lot more money in the city today than in 1999.
For MLB the problem is we don't have a stadium. When it was built BC Place was designed for baseball, and I think they hosted a few exhibition games in the 80s. But after the new roof and renos I don't think they can do that anymore.

Excuse me. Arrowhead and Kauffman stadium are beautiful sporting facilities that also don't tell out their stadiums name to corporate fuckheads.
It is currently the only ballpark in the American League to be named after a person and is also one of ten stadiums in Major League Baseball that does not have a corporate-sponsored name. The stadium is the sixth-oldest stadium in Major League Baseball

>>77164637
Looks comfy. Stumbled on this on the team's actual page:
>Sam Lynn Ballpark is the only active Professional Baseball Park that faces West. This causes huge problems as games cannot begin until the sun sets. Despite a 120 foot sun wall that was built nothing is powerful enough to block sun directly behind the centerfield fence,
lmao
>>77188126
It's hard to believe they're just going to tear down this iconic piece of history and then move the team into a generic modern sports arena.
>>77188763
there's little need for former arenas
it's detroit, this is their former football stadium

It's still a subsidy that uses billions of taxpayer dollars that local governments spend on teams, coupled with tax breaks worth hundreds of millions of dollars. You're right about college sports because only 20 athletic departments actually turn a profit.
