everyone else in this thread understood it but I'll reiterate to make it simpler -- in team sports if you are a true supporter you are pretty much indoctrinated from birth and you can never even remember when you didn't support said team/club, whereas in an individual sport you make a conscious decision to be a fan of a certain player and it would make sense to support the player that plays aesthetically pleasing tennis while also being dominant
