I for one was really puzzled on what was going on.
On the other hand, at those meme inclines and speeds drafting does virtually nothing, so I doubt Froome would have gained something by being helped by Landa in those final 100m. But it still looked like he abandoned him.

I hope you are all aware that Froome lives for mountain stages and will probably not get out of his seat once, instead making the sensible choice to just grind away at a super high gear ratio and will by the end probably be 5 minutes ahead in the GC.

Gels are great when you're going up big climbs as you can consume it all in one gulp without having to chew. Anything you need to chew is a bitch to eat when you're close to your limit. Sports drinks that contain carbs are a hassle when you're on longer rides because you have to carry extra for filling up your bottles mid ride and the amount required for some of the carb containing drinks per bottle is pretty big.

Home made energy bars, maybe a banana and electrolyte drink is the way to go for fueling on the bike. With a few gels if you're going up long steep climbs.
