Why is their board so fucking retarded and incompetent?
>going after two players that are contract settled in relative big clubs and be surprised that neither want to sell cheaply or sell at all (Verratti and Bellerin)
>Go after washed up fucking Chink league player who failed in the Prem (Paulinho)
>resign a mediocre to average winger who will inevitably cry about not being in the starting xi (Deulofeu)
>refusal to grant promising La Masia talent any play time and instead look for get out of jail big money signings - the opposite philosophy that won then dozens of trophies under Guardiola
How can a club with such a big stature be so utterly incompetent? They have the best front 3 on the planet that includes the GOAT for fucks sake.

What was Barca last great signing? Suarez? I mean in terms of money...
>>
>>77054540
Um sweetie are you implying that we're not? We just bought a world class striker.
>>
>>77054554
Suarez definitely. Every signing afterwards has been an embarrassment.
>>
>>77054530
You're mostly right, but La Masia is overrated as fuck.
>>
>>77054561
So 3 years without a big sign? Damn..
>>
>>77054568
They wouldnt have a depth problem if they used the Masia players that got some experience on loans.
>>
>>77054561
Umtiti and Alcacer were both fine
>>
>>77054568
Guess you can say that. I think any club with a philosophy that goes through the youth system to the senior team would be able to have many succesful youth players if only they gave them playing time. At least with a talented manager who gives the players the right roles.
>>
>>77054592
Alcacer transfer was the dumbest of them, especially considering they had Sandro but let him go for free.

Messi without SN or Xaviniesta is literally that choker we see wearing a Silvertina shirt
>>
I'm not sure it was really Rosells team who were behind Mascherano and Villa? Those two were succesful signings, made the summer Laporta left.

Other than that, since 2010, the board has made the wrong decision on almost every case. Of course Suarez and Neymar are great players that would always play good football, anyone could see that. So I guess you can give them those two, even if you could argue about prices and so on.

But think about it, for seven years, the board has made them worse for every season. It's only because of the GOAT and to a degree the other players that were already there 2010 that they continued to be succesful.
>>
>>77054666
>Messi has more assists to SN than vice versa
>Xaviniesta dont even have the most assists to Messi during their time together - Alves a RB has them beat in that.
Stop posting sopa de macaco.

Barça always had trashy management. They just lucked out with their golden generation and will return to their eternal state of mediocrity pretty soon
>>
>>77055068
This.
>>
>>77055068
They lucked out with Ronaldinho (actually luck yes), Deco, Eto'o, Marquez, Maxwell, Villa, Davids, Alves, Belletti, Sylvinho, Gio and maybe some more...

Their own players didn't impress so much before Pep even. Xavi and Iniesta were already great midfielders, but the GOATness came with Pep, and before Rijkaard many doubted Xavi and didn't think of Iniesta as a future GOAT either. Busquets and Pedro weren't players anyone thought would be in a CL winning starting eleven.
What I'm saying, it's not like they couldn't have messed their golden generation up, and it's not like there couldn't be a future Busquets/Pedro in their youth system now.
>>
>>77055185
So what you're saying is that all their need is another Pep? lol
>>
I've been thinking a lot about this for years now
It always seemed like sabotage to me, not even a/sp/ies are that incompetent

What is going on at Barcelona?

As Jose V. Madolell once wrote about his two friends Sandro Rossell and Joan (whom I shall refer to as Jan, as do most) Laporta; there was an inherent enemity pretty soon after Laporta's election as President. Sandro disgareed on a lot of things and was the main opposition voice of Jan in the board. See, Sandro is a businessman. He was the one who helped Perez get Figo to Real Madrid. With Sandro, who is now in jail, there is no club loyalty, none of that. Business, for himself and his associates, who are also in jail, now.

Bartomeu is the direct disciple of Rossell. Rossell stepped down in 2014 after he and the club were attacked for the Neymar transfer by authorities, everyone knew that. However, he said he stepped down as someone had fired a BB gun at his house, and he cannot carry on in such insecurity. A BB gun.

Bartomeu took over from Sandro, but Sandro was still behind the scenes, calling the shots. Jan did a lot of things Sandro did not agree with. Sandro did not like Johan Cruijff, and Laporta loved him. And Jan brought success to this club. Great success. What Sandro wanted after he became President in 2010 was to get away with everything Jan did and make his own model. Jan was a good man, he instilled the two term rule in the club to stop incidents like before, when Josep Nunez was the club president for almost a quarter of a century.
>>
It's just like Manchester United. When their golden generation where carrying them everybody thought Fergie and co was geniuses and everything was great. When the golden generation dissapears then the club goes back to the same old idiocracy. 99% of all managers, football directors and such have no clue and just throw money at anything. Remeber many years ago when there was a tv series with a fake football team. And the team was signing a french players and somebody asked Liverpools (french) trainer if he also was interested in the player (from the tv series) and the liverpool manager said yes.
Barca will go back to the Edgar Davids type of signings when their goldenboys retire and Messi moves to City or PSG.
>>
>>77055207
Of the many first things he did, Sandro made sure Cruijff did not stay on as honorary president. Cruijff left, and kept on working with the Catalan National team instead. Pep had signed Dmytro Chygrynskiy from Shakhtar Donestk, and he had a bad first season. Pep, however, saw potential in the CB and promised him (it's written in his book) that he wanted to keep Dmytro for one more season. Sandro, however, took charge and sold Dmytro, without even consulting Pep. Gone, just like that. He had to show who's in charge.

Pep understood then, the treatment to Johan and Dmytro, that this is not the same club he was winning sextuples with. The club had changed, with one election.

Next in line was Óscar García, another loyal Cruijffista. He was tipped for the B team position, was managing the youth levels, had great promise. Gone.

Next was UNICEF. Barcelona had never had a sponsor, unlike all other clubs, and supporters loved that. The shirt was pure, above commercialism, a poet in this money filled world of football. UNICEF on the shirt was an act that the world praised, as Barcelona helped kids all around the world rise from poverty and hardship and work on their dreams. More than a club.

Sandro said it was time to let go off UNICEF and he put on Qatar foundation. He could not directly switch to a commercial sponsor, as the fans would have torn him apart then. He said it will remain a charitable foundation, but soon Qatar Foundation was gone, to be replaced by Qatar Airways. In the recent document released about the Qatar World Cup 2022 scam, which looks like was bribed to be made happen, Sandro Rossell's name is mentioned 39 times, with a full chapter in the document to his name. He helped broker the Qatar deal and profited from it handsomely. Similar reasons Bartomeu could not do much for the Verratti move, PSG are owned by the same people who own Qatar, and Barto cannot anger his virtual masters.
>>
>>77055185
They still sold both fabregas and Pique. That really showed that they have no clue what they are doing. If Arsenal had bid a little more Messi could have been a gunner.
>>
>>77055218
Then came Neymar. Great player, but Sandro and Barto did not only sign him for that. They saw his rising global brand. In the court cases, it was revealed that Neymar's father was gifted, apart from the huge money, with an orgy that the club paid for. Soon enough, the club puppet newspapers and even the club in some capacity released polls asking if it would be right to sell MESSI. 8% voted yes. It was coming, make Neymar the focal point of the team and let go of Messi. Why? Messi is not a Nike athlete, and Sandro is a former executive of Nike. Him, Nike, Brasil FA and Qatar are all different pillars in this big scam for which he is in jail now. Neymar, however is a Nike athlete. Major money.

It did not turn out like that. Neymar for all his talent, has not been able to have a season close to any of Leo's, and that selling off idea has died off like defenders die against Leo.

After that, came the dismanting of La Masia. Pep Segura got the job for managing La Masia. Despite what Barto loyalists tell you, Pep Segura is a self proclaimed English football lover, he loves the route 1 (cross and pray) way. According to numerous reports from Catalunya for a while, Pep Segura has intervened and asked the Masia coaches to practise more on crosses and less on positional play. He has recently been promoted to a far bigger position than just Masia.

There are way too many issues to talk about, impossible in a single post. To summarise, the club, first team, masia, business wise, it's all going a massive change since the 2010 elections and even more since the 2015 elections and that change is targeted to bury everything Johan built and then build their own on that.

That, however, is not working out well, for the obvious reason. These are mere corrupted businessmen. Johan was Johan.

(Pretend it's greentexted, I'm not doing it fuck you)

I don't know why you're surprised, they have been historically incompetent.
They had a great run because they were lucky to have an insane generation from the youth squads when they needed.
Just from memory:
>got rid of Maradona
>made Figo leave by not paying the same as Rivaldo
>sold Fatnaldo
>bought Quaresma instead of CR7
>going time after time after meme players

It's amazing they have done so well over the years prior to Messi.

Very nice posts. Surprising this isn't bigger.
More surprising they actually won the election in 2015, when Laporta was back. Why was that?
>>77055206
yep, or Cruyff, or someone like that

Sure, but at least in case of Fabregas it wasn't like they rejected him iirc, not smart to promise too much to a 15yo

Thanks for bothering writing out what I've been thinking for a long time.
Barca has always been pretty incompetent but nowadays it's cynical business, not big, naive dreams making it so.
Fuck modern football. Money ruins everything...
>>
>>77055520
I find it incredible the board can be so incompetent that they've wasted many years of having the GOAT. Could've easily won more titles
Once Messi retires Barcelona will plummet for quite some time

from what i understand, barto's opposition is divided and they are not united behind one candidate

>I sound retard.
>your last 5 posts were retarded 1 liners

Watch out dude you could overthink your brain and fail into a coma.

Ronaldo win CL titles with players such as Modric, Kroos, Bale, Di Maria, Ramos, Casemiro and so on.Should he be striped off those titels because other players helped him? Or maybe Robben. He won CL in 2013 with help o Schweinsteiger, Ribery and Muller. What about Drogba year before? Lampard and Mata helped him.

Kek, you REALLY are retard. I'm not talking about winning titles with strong sides, brainlet. It's the opposite. Ronaldo won an euro with the shittest team he could find, and what about Missis? How many titles he won without SN or Xaviniesta? Zero.

He wasn't exposed, though. Argentina went back to the "strategy" of a shitty midfield and hoping Messi runs past 6 defenders by himself while his partners just watch.
