Back when I was much more of a baseball enthusiast, the Yankees I hated would still go after a player like Harper even with a player like judge coming up. Now the evil empire settles for one or the other. Truly a time to be alive. I even remember when the yanks would buy a pitching rotation. I guess I don't follow baseball like I should. Did they even sign anyone last offseason?

Yes, they signed Matt Holiday and Chris Carter to 1 year deals.

I think the idea was they were saving up to take a run at the high level of talent in this free agent class (Machado and Harper) but now they have the best player in baseball playing in Harper's spot and the best prospect in baseball coming up ready to take third base.

I'd love to see them go out and acquire a top tier, reliable starting pitcher but I don't think anyone like that will be available this off season.
