Probably had a bad phase and started listening to certain "music" and surround himself with a certain type of people. Had to prove to his new friends that nobody crosses him. He had potential but not a contract at that time I suppose. Didn't have a father who wouldn't take his "new behaviour" seriously and correct him.

He had a mental problem stemming back to when his dad died. He was young and didn't know how to handle it and it messed with him. He got involved with some shady stuff in his youth and beyond.
