The ranking system is biased against European teams.

You can prove the system is bad.

San Marino are often the bottom or within the bottom 2 or 3 teams in the rankings. While they are of course a very weak team, they usually keep top European teams to single digit results.

Several years ago Australia beat American Samoa 31-0. Just read that again, 31-0. San Marino have never lost by even close to that much, and against teams better than Australia.

The reason countries in shit places like Oceania and Caribbean aren't so low is because they all play against each other so they win some matches and rise in the rankings, whereas San Marino almost never win, they occasionally play a friendly against Liechtenstein and win 2-1 or some shit but that's it. American Samoa, Nauru, Tonga, all these shit places play each other constantly and make each other look not totally shit.

The top European teams get no benefit out of playing the shitty teams that they beat every time, and constantly have to play against teams that have a chance of beating them, or are just as good as them. While teams in other confederations get to look good beating the random shitcunts in their continent.

but the points you get are weighted depending on the confederation your opponent is in. looking from the perspective of australia they would get 1*3+190 points for beating belgium but only 0.85*3+7 for beating samoa.
