As a NBA fan who was not part of the whole waiting game and didn't feel the effect of the 'prolonged decision', this is STILL fucked up.

I see a lot of Jazz fans complaining that he waited too long to make the decision. I think the biggest fuck you to the Jazz fanbase is his letter itself. Even if he had released that a week ago, it would still be fucked up, and I think it gives a lot of insight into how this guy thought of the whole thing.

His letter reads like an explanation of how the small Jazz franchise was great in helping him develop, helping grow into this man who is now ready to leave onto bigger things. He doesn't feel committed to the franchise or the fans, he just enjoyed some close friendships in the organization and felt like the Jazz served the role he wanted of them, which was to help prepare him for the next step of his career. It legitimately reads like he never for a second had the belief or intention of winning a championship with Utah.

Because now he is onto bigger and better things. He LITERALLY says he is leaving to win a championship. I don't know about you but I feel like the Jazz are far superior to the Celtics, but hey, they just don't have that 'winning culture'. He is basically saying:

'Thanks for preparing me for this next stage of winning, I'm ready to go to a franchise that can actually win and am leaving because I want to win a championship'.

He just said it right in your damn face: (1) His primary concern is a championship, not the franchise (2) the Jazz were never gonna win a championship.
