To begin with its not like they have one team for all of Africa.
secondly most africans play relevant sports like football. most africans that play basketball learned it on some college exchange trip or scholarship.
Fx the greatest NFL player of all time only played burgerball because the college he was at didn't have regular football. so he though "meh.. let me try to kick this goody ball".
