The problem is they already got two fucking SFs who need playing time plus Jae Crowder plus (potentially) Hayward. You can run Hayward at SG yeah but what about Bradley then? Smart? What they do they do with IT? And they still haven't solved the fact that Horford is playing out of position and can't rebound.

You play on ball, but you sag off when the person you're responsible for doesn't have the ball.
And if they move away from you you follow them up to the point they get screened, then you communicate a switch.

If the person switches on to you, you jam them on the switch or let them take the three point shot, or drive on you and follow for the potential rebound..

That's basic guarding in the NBA today for PGs.
Curry, Irving, Dame, even Reggie Jackson, etc. do this.
Watch any highlight video of a top guard and watch who's guarding them and you see it. Doesn't matter how good they are. Only guys like Bradley and Beverley actually play defense because that's all they can do.

Love is 6'10". PG supposedly grew to 6'10" after his rookie year. LeBron is like 6'8.5". PG and LeBron perform better at the 4 than the 3 offensively, while PG can also defend it. Westbrook is strong enough to defend SG's despite being slightly too small. That's normally what his team puts him on anyway. Lowry is one of the best defensive point guards in the league and has no issues scoring (outside of the playoffs) at an elite level.

I don't see size causing that team an issue at all. Defense would be a mess though from a discipline perspective. You can't have both LeBron and Westbrook ditching their assignments to gamble, relying on Love to use his complete lack of athleticism to cover multiple assignments at once.

But they don't play the position the same way at all. Like that guy said, PG is much less ball-dominant than KD, which is why KD and Westbrook always had issues. When PG was forced to try and carry the entire offense in Indy, he struggled because he's not that aggressive. Westbrook will lighten his load and in turn he'll give Westbrook an actually reliable option to kick the ball out to on his drives. They match up much better together than two ISO-driven scorers.
