alright lads, confession time. I've been sitting in these Big Baller threads for quite a while now and this is my first post in one. But I can't put this off any longer. My problem is, essentially, I thought this was all just some funny memeing at first, with anons amused at this ostentatious young athlete and his megalomaniacal father. The very idea that anybody would pay so much money for such little product, apart from a relative few of the rich and bored, seemed insane. Then I read how it would all, if it worked, bypass the apparently corrupt contract between upcoming sports stars and certain businesses tied to certain conglomerates. Is this modern day jester, this ghetto streetwalking billboard, not just milking his son for all he's worth, but taking a stand for all that is right? Even when I left the threads, left sp, left the internet all together, I'd think about it. I found myself one day at work just staring into space, as the question raged in my mind. I don't even watch basketball. This fact alone disurbed me. And yet worse was to follow, as in my fervour to think so deeply on this Iago-cum-Othello, this hero for the year 20XX, I realised I had neglected that which had brought me to my destination. I had assumed the posts in support of it all were jokes, were just there to be funny. But the more I read - the hatred for minor ballers, the bullyin of those deemed tiny - the colder my brow grew, flecks of wet uncertainty, all singing with but one question. Are they memeing? Or are they, in fact, not memeing? Are they, in fact, in tow with these ideas? Do they support the endeavour and man, with its crazy prices and outlandish behaviour? Have they always been? Or did they start out, like me, amused by the sheer pitbull grandeur of it all, only to find themselves warming to the idea, heating like the slowly-boiled frog, burning with the desire that they, too, could be one of this new club? In short, I suppose just want to ask... Are you really a big baller?
