If Watson shows that he's better than Savage start him from day one. If he's good he'll survive and possibly play okay (Toxins don't have that bad an offense outside QB) and the team will have its best QB on the field instead of sitting on the bench. Anything he does will be considered a massive improvement over Osweiler so the pressure about going to the playoffs that Krabs mentions will be offset by that.

So, I was checking those situational stats PFF posts all the time and found something curious.

The 3 QBs who were blitzed the most last season are Cam Newton (CAR), Cody Kessler (CLE) and Jared Goff (LAR). Their respective rating against the blitz was the following: Newton (70.8), Goff (71.9) and Kessler (92.8).

Related, among AFC North QBs, Kessler had the highest comp% when facing pressure (80.6%). Closest one is Roethlisberger with 65%, and then Flacco with 62%. Dalton barely had 60%.

I know they're situational stats and that Kessler didn't start as much as Newton or every other AFC North QB; however, he sure looks like a sleeper hit, and for what I recall he looked solid. Surely the Browns are sticking with him, right?
