I said some time ago that it would be awesome but /spol/ called me a Muslim. Reasons I gave were: the architecture of the country is next level and no alcohol means less hooligan type bullshit.

I was thinking about the ACoN earlier and how it might make sense to have it every 4 years and bring in a winter break in the PL/Europe so teams didn't suffer from their players going to that tournament. For this reason I don't think winter tournaments are a bad thing.

The downsides of Qatar are white elephant stadiums. It will be just like SA, Russia and possibly Brazil.

It's 140 degrees in Qatar during the day. Even if you're blasting all that cold air into gigantic stadiums, (1) everyone is going to die when they go outside, if not on their way to the game, and (2) you still have no practical use for these stadiums after Dac Up.

And even after that I'm not sure if more teams were invited. Portugal was invited by Brazil to participate in the 1950 edition, but the portuguese federation declined since they thought it was cheap participating after losing the qualifier play off (against Spain).

All the roads are basically equal, except in Nevada where they've been denied federal funding (cuz muh gambling +whores).

They're incredibly well-maintained in Texas where I've spent a lot of time, but then on both coasts just by necessity.
