is this the most cringe thing in sports?
is it meant to scare the other team? has the other team ever just laughed?
Its a bit wierd they are the only team with that kind of "tradition"
it's funny when you see the whiteys do it
>>76730532
Not really. Other pacific island teams have similar choreographies. For instance, whenever NZ faces Tonga, these do their own dance
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgq71T80vk0
glad the fucking losers in their cricket team don't do it
that'd be a fucking joke, especially when the only islander that plays for them is from samoa
>>76730484
Came into the thread expecting an American OP, still not surprised tho.
I'm sorry your country can't excel in the sport it created - then again, I'm sure England's used to that feeling.
>>76730484
Is your team losing mate?

>>76730484
yes it's meant to scare the other team and yes it does scare them
>>76732813
Does it though? Does it really?
>>76732834
In test matches we have 6 losses since 2010 and won the last two world cups so maybe
>>76730484
Eat less, exercise more, OP. I'm sure it'll work out for you.
>>76730484
>has the other team ever just laughed?
I don't know, but they were some who just looked at it with a "what the fuck is going on" stares.

>>76732813
how come ignoring it is "disrespectful" then judging by the comments on this vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyjf4mzfcxU
if the opponent is doing a silly dance to scare you why shouldn't you just ignore it?
>>76732860
Maybe you're simply better than your opponents.
>>76732879
You could say that
>>76732876
because it's a sacred tradition. that's why people get offended when others don't respect and watch it.
>>76732905
delet this
>>76732910
You could make it a sacred tradition to burn a New Zeeland flag on the pitch before every game and make them watch you.
>>76732946
you could try but the way the world is nowadays that's a bit too extreme
>>76732873
those just look like weed faces
>>76732967
One could argue performing a war dance before playing a literal game is kind of overdoing it, too.

>>76732997
how do you want them to react?
The Haka itself is pretty cool, this is mental

>>76732988
i feel like that's different to burning a flag.
>>76730484
>All blacks
>team full of white guys with some Mexicans
>>76733018
It would basically be burning the British flag+addons so it's not as bad as it might sound. Billions of peaceful muslims do it every day.
>>76733009
>>76733065
exactly. burning a flag is far more offensive than doing a war dance.
>>76733037
>with some Mexicans

Kek
I don't like the new one, wish they would go back to the Ka Mate haka.
Most teams have rituals like that to get themselves pumped up before the game, or to "come down" afterwards. Most of the time they involve autistic screaming, awkward jumping around and speeches, it's just that New Zealand is the only team that does it in the open.
It's cringe when any team but the All Blacks does it but as far as international rugby union goes it's a century old tradition and I'd be pretty mad if they tried to end it because the other teams are jealous they don't have a marketable gimmick
>>76733541
>muh little dance
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htCTWZqCMhQ
your NT is mostly white and white guys doing that dance look silly as hell
>>76733616
And silly white guys have been doing it before your greatgrandparents were born faggot, the ka mate haka is a rugby tradition not a maori one
>>76733745
just because you've been doing it for a long time it doesn't mean it isn't silly as hell
>>76732873
that's kinda cool
>>76733169
they could just dance like an egyptian

All this projection and not a single argument to be found. Sorry your "sport" got called out for one of, if not the most, cringey thing in existence. Embarrassing that you defend it.
