I read that it's because the owner of the franchise has a company called Black Knight sports and he graduated from west point academy who also have a football team called the Black Knights etc. So he was always going to call any team he has "the [insert colour] knights".

expansion teams always get shit tier players...the forwards are fucking shit...The only steal was probably Cody Eakin. The defence is mediocre tier...they got a good mixture of veteran and young dman.Goalies are also a bright spot. Andre-Fleury definitely has potential for a bounce back season. Understandable at the time because the team was a dumpster fire of problems as well as disney and the nhl, but looking back they should have stayed as the mighty ducks of anaheim.
