My club is semi-pro and I can only offer non-contracts, several other lower rep and less wealthy clubs can offer part time time contracts.
There is no compulsory professional status in this country so I'm looking at years of saving up with non-contract players to go pro.

I've found a fix for this but it involves changing the club to amateur and then back to semi-pro.

Would this be cheating or just correcting a data base/SI error?

It rarely looks like attacking players are aware of other people on the pitch. The amount of times strikers or wingers in possession of the ball run into a cluster of 3-4 defenders rather than into open space drives me up the fucking wall. Defenders also seem to have the opposite problem of not seeing attackers, especially in situations where the ball is in the air. This makes me want to write angry reviews in Chinese.

And the other attacker never, EVER is marked. They seem to completely forget his existence or even the possibility he might exist. It's even more egregious in FM16 and FM17 where even if the dribbler is at the edge of the box, near the goal line, he can make a backpass and there always will be someone unmarked at the penalty spot.

Hey guys, I'm looking to start a new save, but I'm not reallysure of what team to pick.

I'm still learning the ropes after a somewhat succesful couple of years with Talleres, but I still struggle with many aspects of the game.

My team is also pretty irregular, as there are times in which we can win 7-8 matches in a row as well as times in which we simply can't seem to create enough opportunities to score and play very poorly. I've also noticed that my Defenders are very prone to concede stupid goals to the opposition.

Apart, from reading the guide, I'd apreciate any advise you guys can give me.

I'm also thinking of starting my second save on the Argentinian Second Division, but I'm not really sure if it's the best option right now. Most of the teams in pic are quite even regarding budgets and player hability.

Well I was the one who requested it so there's that. When I started the save, the board was even reluctant towards this philosophy (but they accepted it without arguing anyway). It allows me to get youth related requests accepted more easily, no matter what they are. However it made it a bit harder to get affiliates especially for first option deals... that being said, even if your affiliation is about something completely different you still get first options anyway.

Just signed a 36 year old Joe Cole. I can never seem to shake off the habit of signing players that were good on CM 01/02. Last year, Del Piero was my go-to-money-out-of-the-window-because-I-am-sentimental-guy.

Depends of the league's rules. I can play them if I want. I realised that lowering the youth age to the minimum, which is 14 yo and two years younger than vanilla, is kinda pointless. You just get more players with terrible CA, which is reflected upon the AssMan's opinion of their potential (what they can actually reach). Or you get a load of 14 yo who are going to be good enough for the league at 16yo. Of course you can pamper them for longer, but still... One year lower is enough.

He'll never get to play in the league, I maintain a squad of 22 players and rotate all the time, very often fielding two different teams if I have two matches in the same week. but you can certainly turn a slack guy into someone who'll train just hard enough to make it as a professional player

In a squad of 18 you need 11 HG players minimum and 7 foreign max. So I guess I can at least swap him with a Malteaser who was trained abroad.
