My feelings on the subject are sort of ambiguous.

I think it's fair that if a hitter can waste ten successive pitches with half-ass foul swings, the pitcher and catcher can get calls in their favor every once in a while on throws that are smoothly executed. Deceiving the ump is an art form and skill. The actual location of the pitch wasn't egregious either, it was only a ball's length outside of the Pitchcast strikezone.
