Reminder that this literally, in fact, 100%, unironically, really happened.

I hope the last Owl memes didn't make you forget about that.

This is why I think Malcolm butler should have been super bowl MVP

He carried Brady this game, if he doesn't make this int the Seahawks are in a good position to take the lead

Plus Brady threw 2 very bad ints
>>
>>76654065
Somehow never thought of this, but imagine how much the narrative of Brady, Belichek, and the Patriots changes if the Seahawks use the then best red zone rusher to plow a yard up the middle and Atlanta doesn't implode and blow a 25 pt lead in 18 minutes.

Lynch was something like 1-3 in one yard situations like this that season
>>
>>76654255
And they had 3 chances to advance 2 yards
>>
>>76654166
Literally doesn't matter anymore seeing as Brady is the confirmed GOAT but have a (You) for effort
>>
>>76654065

I didn't need a reminder
>>
>>76654255
If you mean 1 for 3 that's a pretty small sample. That is different from red zone rushing generally though. Really with a yard to go and probably 3 plays remaining the real call should have been to QB sneak it until they got in. These days if defenses know a run is coming up the middle it gets stuffed frequently but it's rare to ever see a sneak not get a positive gain because theres zero time for the defense to penetrate.
>>
>>76654283

more like 2 because of the amount of time he would eat up trying to make the play

Patsfag here, and i hate this argument

>Oh, but PFF says that Lynch was only one for 3 in these situations, meaning that it was a better choice to throw it....hurr durrrrrrr, stats are everything

That's fucking Marshawn Lynch, best powerback in football on the goal-line and you didn't give him the ball, dunce move in my opinion

guess what. a ring is a ring, an W is an W, and a lombardi is a lomabardy. Brady has five (5) and no amount of butthurt crying can change that
>>
>>76654866
>tfw Brady's last 2 SB losses were because the other teams had 4th down meme catches at the end of the game to win
It goes both ways. Patriots could have just as easily been 7-0 as much as 3-4. Even the 2015 pats team looked practically unstoppable until half the team got injured right before playoffs. What happened happened. Can't play the "what if" game.

Thinking about ditching BeIn sports cause they've only got the redzone since last year. How much would a NFL league pass cost for the entire season + post season?

Just imagine if New England hadn't choked in the '06 AFC championships or if Asante Samuel and Wes Welker didn't choke in the owl. Beli would have 10 rings. What a God

haha did this really unironically happen in an actual game? haha

As a Falcons fan need I remind you that they played two quarters worth of the webm you posted? Pales in comparison

>>
>>76654283
Do you have any concept of clock management? They already ran once and NE was just letting the clock run instead of calling a timeout like Carroll probably expected.

is this more or less embarrassing than the falcons collapse? one happened in an instant, the other was drawn out. i'm gonna go with the failcons. clotsfag, but i must admit that the pats generate the best superbowl lulz in victory and defeat.
>>
>>76654127

>carried Brady

you fucking pleb. It was one of the greatest QB performances of all time.

Anyway the real mvp was Edelman for breaking your man's arm. Then Brady, then Hightower.
>>
>>76660746
this

its funny how its Brady, Edelman and Hightower every super bowl, Amendola too
>>
>>76660746
>great

yeah no, he averaged under 7 yards per pass and threw 2 interceptions
>>
>>76659433
Then 3 chances to advance 5 yards counting the first down
>>
>>76661501
Brady was 14/15 on the last 2 drives of the 4th quarter with 2 TDs, he averaged 7 ypp because Blount was god awful and provided no support, vereen in the flat was the running game
>>
>>76661629
fucking shaun hill beat the seahawks that year, its not impressive to beat on shitty defenses in the owl

Playing "what if" with the Falcons and Seahawks choking is retard, what if Brady's oline didn't choke in 2007 or Welker did in 2011?

They could just as easily be 7-0 as 3-4, a 7 game sample size proves that Brady is very good and has been in position to win all 7 games very late into the game
>>
>>76663776
retarded*
>>
That Seahawks team probably would have gone on to become a dynasty. The Patriots prevented that shitty timeline.
>>
>>76663820
they really would have, seahawks were set up to be the next team but brady took it
>>
>>76654065

>when the good guys win

This ended the Seahawks. They are eternally BTFO after this.
>>
why was this the best moment of my life

last year didn't feel anywhere near as good even though it was a way bigger comeback
>>
>>76663913
When Brady went god-mode against the Falcons it felt almost inevitable they would win at one point, there was literally nothing the Falcons could do to stop him at all and it was q slow build up that quickened by OT

The Seacucks game was literally depression to elation in the course of a second, which is insane
>>
>>76654127
>if he doesn't make this int the Seahawks are in a good position to take the lead

woah stop the presses on this HOT TAKE

Brady doesn't even need Butler to come through here if Butler tips that pass like two plays prior to anywhere else where Kearse can't miraculously catch it
>>
>>76664212
fucking this

Brady won it with 1:50 left, not his fault the defense let up a 40 yard fluke catch>>76664212
>>
>>76654757
Seahawks OC outsmarted himself

he wanted to do this "high percentage, either our guy gets it or no one gets" it pass play to give him more flexibility on the next downs if they needed them

if they run and don't get it they gotta burn their last time out and then you limit the ability to run on the next play because if it's stuffed they would be scrambling to even get off a final play

the flaw in the logic is assuming that play can't or won't be picked just because it never was in the regular season
>>
>>76660721
Falcons is way worse. This was just a a split decision that blew up in their face. Happens all the time. Blowing a 25 pt lead with 18-20 mins takes effort.
>>
>>76664268
I mean its happened 4 times in 60 years, just happens to be the patriots in the super bowl lol
>>
>>76658398
Don't blame the rest of /sp/ for lazy americans not caring about their own shit sports
>>
>>76664402
a goal line turnover is still way more fucking likely than a 25pt comeback u stupid leaf
>>
>>76664425
yup this
>>
>>76654065
Why didn't they run it in?
>>
>>76670087

30 seconds. 1 Time Out.

THEY COULD NOT HAVE RUN THREE STRAIGHT TIMES IN 30 SECONDS YOU FUCKING MORON

>>76654283

Yes, because it's possible to run 3 run plays in 30 seconds with only one timeout remaining because you're a fucking idiot and your entire life is a lie.
>>
>>76654065
This is still easily the dumbest play-calling decision at any level of organized team football. The Seahawks had Marshawn Lynch, a running back who was borderline unstoppable near the goal line. I will never have any idea why they decided to not call a running play for Lynch and instead call a passing play. They deserved to lose Super Bowl XLIX. I hope this play haunts Pete Carroll for as long as he coaches in the NFL.
>>
>>76664249
OK, but the Seahawks STILL should not have called a passing play over the MIDDLE of the field. If you're going to call a pass play in that situation, call a fade to either corner of the end zone. If no one's open, throw it away and waste the down to stop the clock.
>>
>>76654065
This play is one main reason (not the only one) why I quit supporting the Seattle Seahawks. Right here. I can't defend idiotic play-calling decisions.
>>
>>76672724
LYNCH WOULD HAVE MADE IT IN ONE TRY YOU FUCKING SEAKEK
